Bill Nye sees ‘Ark Encounter’ and also says humans may have come from Mars
Ark from Ark Encounter
Bill Nye, who improperly calls himself the ‘Science Guy’ went to the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky:
July 16, 2016
“When you die, you’re done.”
That’s the opinion of famed God doubter Bill Nye, who attended the recent opening of the Ark Encounter, a new park that some fans described as a “Christian Disneyland.”
It features a full-size replica of Noah’s Ark, built according to the dimensions given in the Bible. Spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high, it is described as the largest timber frame structure in the world. The Williamstown, Kentucky, site also includes “jaw-dropping” exhibits, a zoo and more, the organizers say.
Nye, famous for advocating for science, not the Bible, had been invited by Ken Ham, founder of Answers in Genesis and the driving force behind the Ark project.
He said the project’s opening was incredibly successful, with the first few days’ attendance reaching 35,000. …
Nye, who once called the Ark Encounter plan a danger because it would “indoctrinate children” into the biblical – “unscientific” – point of view. …Ham said … He said Nye came with an apparent agenda.
“He wouldn’t listen to anything I said. I was hoping that wouldn’t be the case, hoping he wanted to know what we believe.”
Ham also asked Nye why he wore clothes, since they originated in Genesis of the Bible. http://www.wnd.com/2016/07/when-you-die-youre-done/#iZVAsZW8PfPAgMeQ.99
Bill Nye visited a Noah’s Ark he doesn’t believe should exist
Bill Nye the Science Guy doesn’t believe that a gargantuan wooden boat filled with pairs of wild animals once floated across a flood that covered the entire earth. So last week, he went to visit the people who do – and the boat they built to prove it. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/arts-and-entertainment/wp/2016/07/10/bill-nye-visited-a-noahs-ark-he-doesnt-believe-should-exist/
Bill Nye visits Noah’s Ark theme park
Ham said on Facebook the two had discussed what happens after death as they toured the ark, surrounded by surprised visitors. Nye answered him that when you die, “you’re done,” he said.
“I then asked him why he was concerned about what we were teaching at the Ark if when we die we’re ‘done,’” Ham said.
“He also stated that it’s ‘not crazy to believe we descended from Martians.’ I then asked Nye if it was ‘crazy to believe we descended from Adam and Eve!’” http://religionnews.com/2016/07/11/bill-nye-visits-noahs-ark-theme-park/
The idea of a worldwide flood is in the literature of many ancient cultures. There is also evidence in the geological records, though many so-called scientists do not wish to accept that fact.
Furthermore, let me add that it appears that the Chinese have preserved aspects of this in their writing (see China, Its Biblical Past and Future, Part 1: Genesis and Chinese Characters).
Yet, Bill Nye does not see the possibility of an Ark as scientific.
Yet his clinging to the idea that humans may have come from Mars is a desperate attempt to try explain how life got to Planet Earth as scientists generally realize that spontaneous generation of life and the initial development on the Earth is biologically-impossible (watch, for example, Quickly Disprove Evolution as the Origin of Life).
I have written about Bill Nye before and do not consider him to be a real scientist (see Evolution and the supposed ‘Science Guy’). And yes, neither is Ken Ham who has his own issues (one example is his falsely insisting the Earth is only 6,000 years old, and it is older than that–see How Old is the Earth and How Long Were the Days of Creation?).
However, as Ken Ham correctly pointed out, Bill Nye seems to have an agenda–one that does not allow him to consider facts that might contradict his false belief about God and the origin of humans.
Even back in New Testament times, there were those who called error ‘science,’ which is what evolution as an explanation of the origin of life and the origin of the universe is. Notice:
20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. (1 Timothy 6:20-21, KJV)
If Bill Nye was truly a scientist, he would admit that Darwin had no explanation of the origin of life that could be tested to be proven true. Actually, all such attempts have failed to prove Darwin’s hypothesis.
If Bill Nye would truly consider that matter cannot self-generate and that energy runs out over time, he would realize that there is no current explanation of a creation without a spiritual Creator that makes sense.
Consider what the Bible teaches about atheists:
1 The fool has said in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt,
They have done abominable works, (Psalms 14:1, NKJV)
True science is compatible with the Bible–it is only that which is falsely called science that is not (cf. 1 Timothy 6:20-21, KJV). Atheistic scientists, according to the Bible, are fools:
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools (Romans 1:20-22, NKJV).
They have intentionally overlooked what should be obvious.
Although evolutionist claim to be scientists and know the truth, they do not. Such people were prophesied to be around at the end:
1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was. (2 Timothy 3:1-9, NKJV)
Evolution has led to the intentional ignorance of appropriate scientific methods. It became a religion for many in the 19th century, and remains one for many today. Shunning or insulting scientists who come out with the truth is one way that they hope to control public debate on the matter.
As far as this new Ark Encounter goes, a long-time Church of God member telephoned me about 9 days ago telling me how much he liked it. He thought that the Ark Encounter could show people who have doubts about Noah and the Ark why it makes logical sense. He wanted me to encourage others to visit it, so since this is the first post I made about it after we spoke, I thought I would simply mention that he gave the Ark Encounter his personal endorsement.
