China: Expanding influence in nations expected to be involved with Armageddon
Irrespective of trade disputes playing out in public between the USA and China, something bigger is going on with China and the Eastern Hemisphere:
Chinese money is flooding the Philippines, according to property consultant Colliers International, with a potential for future growth as China gets aggressive under its “One Belt One Road” program.
As it stands, China has seen increasing presence not just in the Philippines but in Southeast Asia in general, Colliers said in its “China’s One Belt One Road: The Dragon Spreads Its Wings over Asia” report.
Colliers said that with “One Belt, One Road initiative” (OBOR) and coupled with China’s huge economy and strong currency, the renminbi, it will drive Chinese investment in the region.
“China’s $1-trillion OBOR project intends to get about 60 economies to invest in infrastructure to develop land and maritime routes which comprise the old Silk Road network that once connected Beijing to Central Asia and European economies,” it said.

Great power competition is back. And China is now combining its vast economic resources with a muscular presence on the global stage. One of Beijing’s key efforts is the Belt and Road Initiative, a trillion-dollar endeavor to link together Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe through a web of mostly Chinese-funded physical and digital infrastructure.
Much of Washington has fretted over China’s mercantilist approach to economics in general and views the Belt and Road Initiative largely through this lens. Yet the concerns over Beijing’s current approach should go beyond dollars and yuan. By fueling debt dependency, advancing a “China First” development model, and undermining good governance and human rights, the initiative offers a deeply illiberal approach to regions that contain about 65 percent of the world’s population and one-third of its economic output. …

While all ‘Silk Roads’ are to lead to China, one or two lead to Europe. Roads go both ways. The One Belt, One Road Initiative (BRI) will also help Europe. Europe is prophesied to be the leading trading nation in the future (cf. Revelation 18).
As it turns out, none of these BRI roads will help the USA.
From a prophetic standpoint, BRI will help the Asian economies and help them work better together.
Notice the following about eastern powers:
1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth.” (Revelation 16:1)
12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”
16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon. (Revelation 16:12-16)
The kings of the east reference refers to Asian nations, including Russia, whose border extends to the farthest parts of the east–and China which is commonly believed to be part of the ‘far east.’ For them to gather, they must cross over land to get to Armageddon. The Silk Road project will make that easier.
