Europe intends to trade with Iran without using US dollars and via bypassing US financial controls:

The European Commission took another step toward making Europe less dependent on the United States on foreign trade. Recently, the E.C revealed the group is developing plans that will greatly reduce the bloc’s dependence on the US dollar. The proposal aims to boost euro’s global role and achieve its full potential.
The plan was disclosed by E.U Economic Affairs Commissioner Pierre Moscovici:

When the U.S. and President Trump decided to renege on the JCPOA Iran nuclear agreement, it set in motion the will within Europe to reject this action and to seek alternatives to dollar hegemony. The European Union is going to ditch the US dollar and use its own currency in oil contracts worth 300 billion euros, an Iranian official said, quoting a European commissioner.
“Based on the news I recently received and was confirmed by a European commissioner, from now on, the EU is going to ditch the US dollar and just use the euro in the financial transactions of all European oil deals with other countries,” said Iran’s nuclear chief, Ali Akbar Salehi, on Thursday. …
European capitals are increasingly frustrated with the global dominance of the dollar as a reserve currency, which hands the United States unparalleled diplomatic and economic power in a globalized world.
Governments, banks and multinationals are at the mercy of US authorities, which have the legal power to switch off access to the world economy if any company or country runs afoul of Washington.
“In the current context of incertitudes – trade conflicts, extra territorial sanctions by the US – the market participants are looking for alternative,” said EU economics affairs commissioner Pierre Moscovici at a news conference in Brussels. …
In order to resolve the issue, Europe has promised to establish the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), a mechanism which is supposed to bypass US sanctions against Tehran. … In his Thursday remarks, Iran’s nuclear chief expressed hope that the SPV will be in place by the end of December. …
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who also quoted Europeans as saying that the SPV will be launched very soon.

The dollar still remains the world’s primary reserve currency.
It will remain so for some time. But as more and more nations look to bypass it, one day it will pass the point of being as important to international trade–this will have devastating effects on the economy of the USA.
We are seeing more and more international shifts away from the USA dollar, though not all will be successful. But eventually, the USA dollar will lose its dominance.

Federica Mogherini, the European Union’s top foreign-policy official, said in New York on Monday that the plan to create a “special purpose vehicle” for trade with Iran “will mean that EU member states will set up a legal entity to facilitate legitimate financial transactions with Iran, and this will allow European companies to continue trade with Iran.” … it is clear to the Europeans (as well as the Chinese and Russians) that any future transactions with Iran must go through entities insulated from the American financial system. …
Mogherini indicated that Germany, France and the U.K. would set up a multinational state-backed financial intermediary that would deal with companies interested in Iran transactions and with Iranian counter-parties. Such transactions, presumably in euros and pounds sterling, would not be transparent to American authorities. European companies dealing with the state-owned intermediary technically might not even be in violation of the U.S. sanctions as currently written. Note the question: “Why would they want to force a confrontation between Europe and the United States?”
Well, because Europe wants to rule the world and it more and more sees that the USA is in its way.

PESCO and a Great European Army
In November 2018, French President Macron called for a “true European army” because of China, Russia, and the USA. Some others in Europe have echoed that sentiment. On November 9, 2018, US President Donald Trump called that an insult, but the next day said that the USA wanted “a very strong Europe.” Emmanuel Macron referred to Donald Trump as “my friend” and indicated a desire to strengthen Europe’s military spending. In December 2017, 25 European nations agreed to be part of a military alliance called PESCO. Europe also has NATO and IEI. Will Europe end up with “a great army”? Has Donald Trump’s announcement to withdraw from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty gotten some to say that Europe must rebel against the USA? Is the idea of a United States of Europe and a European army a “paranoid fantasy” or a biblical reality? Will the USA regret Europe becoming a stronger military power? Will the USA be betrayed by “friends” such as its continental European allies? Does the Bible teach any or all of this? US sanctions and trade policies are factors that will lead to the loss of the USA dollar as the world’s premier reserve currency.
As I warned prior to Donald Trump’s inauguration, there will be many “unintended consequences” to some of his policies and statements.
The days of the US dollar’s dominance are numbered. US sanctions and tariffs are helping lead to its demise.
This status for the USA will not continue.
This will not end well for the USA:
What happens to the US economy if the Dollar is no longer the reserve currency of the world?
If US T-bills lose their attraction as reserve investments … it would get harder for the Treasury to sell more of them, requiring higher interest rates to be paid and potentially forcing austerity measures on the US government or triggering classic deficit spending inflation (“printing money” to pay for government, this doesn’t happen now because the deficit is financed through sales of those bonds at extremely low interest rates).
If foreign central banks and governments start exchanging their US dollars for some other currency or currencies, then the value of the dollar in international trade drops, it becomes more expensive to buy imported goods in the US and more profitable to sell exported goods from the US. The above is warning about inflation, higher interest rates, and troubles borrowing. The USA is the most highly indebted nation of all time. The USA has been essentially on a borrowing binge the last four decades and its economy is now dependent upon borrowing. The Bible paints an even worse scenario that in the time of the end (Habakkuk 2:2-3) the highly indebted will be taken over (Habakkuk 2:2:6-8) and destroyed (Daniel 11:39; USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses).
Do not think that the USA will continue to be number 1. The USA will ultimately be eliminated according to biblical prophecies (e.g. Daniel 11:39; Isaiah 10:5-11)–and financial reasons will be part of why (cf. Habakkuk 2:6-8).
There is a cost to USA sanctions.
They are pushing the Gentile nations to come up with something that the USA will not like.
One day the USA dollar will be worth no more than the scrap value of the cotton-paper it is printed on.
It will be worse than almost all pundits seem to think even though some have reported the view that the US dollar will one day lose its dominance.
