Iran unveils second underground missile; USA is watching Iran, but . . .

Iran is again attempting to show that it is a military force:

Iran unveiled a new underground missile depot on Tuesday with state television showing Emad precision-guided missiles in store which the United States says can take a nuclear warhead and violate a 2010 U.N. Security Council resolution.

The defiant move to publicize Iran’s missile program seemed certain to irk the United States as it plans to dismantle nearly all sanctions on Iran under a breakthrough nuclear agreement.

Tasnim news agency and state television video said the underground facility, situated in mountains and run by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, was inaugurated by the speaker of parliament, Ali Larijani. Release of one-minute video followed footage of another underground missile depot last October.

The United States says the Emad, which Iran tested in October, would be capable of carrying a nuclear warhead and U.S. officials say Washington will respond to the Emad tests with fresh sanctions against Iranian individuals and businesses linked to the program.

Iran’s boasting about its missile capabilities are a challenge for U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration as the United States and European Union plan to dismantle nearly all international sanctions against Tehran under the nuclear deal reached in July. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-iran-usa-missiles-idUSKBN0UJ1CB20160105

Rep. Steny Hoyer (D., Md.), a leading supporter of the Iran deal, blasted the move, expressing disappointment with the administration’s efforts to appease Iran.

“I am disappointed that the Administration has delayed punitive action in response to Iran’s recent ballistic missile tests,” Hoyer said in a statement. “We are always in a sensitive moment in our dealings with Iran, and there is never a perfect time to undertake such actions. But Iran must know with certainty that violating U.N. Security Council resolutions, both inside and outside the scope of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), will be met with serious consequences.”

Sen. Chris Coons (D., Del.), another leading deal supporter who initially praised the new sanctions, also expressed dismay at the administration’s move to delay the effort.

“I believe in the power of vigorous enforcement that pushes back on Iran’s bad behavior,” Coons told the Wall Street Journal. “If we don’t do that, we invite Iran to cheat.” http://freebeacon.com/national-security/iran-deal-backers-embarrassed-by-obama-admins-sanctions-blunder/

Last week, I posted:

The Obama Administration is hesitant to take strong military action against Iran as it has considered the Iranian nuclear deal as a major accomplishment towards peace. …

Iran is getting what it wanted from the nuclear deal and is starting to publicly take steps that are consistent with its long-term goals of eliminating the nation of Israel and ultimately eliminating the USA.

Contrary to the hopes of many, the government of Iran does NOT want to be a peaceful nation in the Near East. Iran’s leaders want to invade Israel, dominate all Islam, and eliminate the USA. Iran will continue to take steps that it believes will help it accomplish that, including military ones.

Iran ultimately wants to takeover the world.

That is what Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei really wants.

However, the bottom line is that although Iran wants to dominate the Islamic world (and then the rest of the world), Bible prophecy shows that it will not. But, because leaders like its past and current presidents credit a non-existent Imam Mahdi for various events and its Supreme Leader has claimed to actually speak to him, the regime in Iran must be considered unstable and capable of taking steps that would seem illogical to outsiders.

This makes Iran dangerous. Iran may well damage Israel (Isaiah 22:1-14) and even the USA. After Iran gets most or all of its frozen assets back, look for it to overplay its hand. That will not end well for Iran (cf. Jeremiah 49:34-38)

But although it does provide support to various Islamic causes now, and probably will in the future, Iran will not be the power that the Bible teaches will be the coming King of the South. And if it is discovered not properly handling its latest nuclear agreement, its neutralization could come soon from outside sources.

We may well see a regional war involving Iran, Syria, and Israel, perhaps with some USA involvement. A war that could see all of them damaged according to Bible prophecy. But also a war that might lead to another ‘deal’–perhaps one day the deal of Daniel 9:27 that will signal the final countdown to the end.

That being said, despite the view of certain Protestant prophecy watchers, it needs to be pointed out that Iran is not about to be totally aligned with Russia to invade Israel or somehow fulfill Ezekiel 38 (see also Ezekiel 38: For Russia & Iran in Our Day? and/or watch Russia, Iran, Syria, & the Bible (Code)). Ezekiel 38 is NOT fulfilled until well AFTER Jesus returns.

But Iran is likely to have major problems before then (Jeremiah 49:34-38).
