In what police are calling the worst shooting in American history, a gunman killed 50 people and injured at least 53 when he opened fire at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

An FBI official said the mass shooting is being investigated as an “act of terrorism.”
On the gay club’s Facebook page, a post around 2 a.m. gave early indication of the tragedy that was unfolding.
“Everyone get out of pulse,” a page administrator wrote, “and keep running.”
The FBI is investigating. Asked whether the shooting was tied to Islamic terrorism, FBI Assistant Special Agent Ronald Hopper said the agency has “suggestions that the individual may have leanings toward that particular ideology.”
Why the club was targeted remains unclear. The shooting comes as many cities around the world celebrate June as LGBT Pride Month.
The mass shooting follows another grim night in Orlando. Singer Christina Grimmie, a 22-year-old YouTube star and one-time contestant of the TV talent show “The Voice,” was fatally shot by a man during a meet-and-greet session with fans outside her concert in the same city Friday night. The suspected Islamic terrorist opened fire inside Pulse between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. this morning. Orlando Police Chief John Mina said …The gunman was believed to be in his 20s and may have “leanings to radical Islamic terrorism.”
June is the beginning of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. In an Arabic message released online, purportedly from ISIS spokesman Abu Mohammed al-Adnani, further attacks against the West were urged during Ramadan.
The State Department-led Overseas Security Advisory Council report reads that “martyrdom during the month may hold a special allure to some,” and has asked U.S. organizations to “remain aware of the persistent threat of (ISIS) attacks, both inspired and directed,” according to published reports.
“The terrorism risk at the moment is generally high,” the report cautioned.

This incident was horrible.
Yet, more terrorism is expected.
Why?
Because the Bible tells of a time of terror. Notice the following prophecies, several of which will involve the USA:
14 ‘But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, 15 and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, 16 I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17 I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you. (Leviticus 26:14-17)
25 The sword shall destroy outside; There shall be terror within (Deuteronomy 32:25)
12 “Cry and wail, son of man; For it will be against My people, Against all the princes of Israel. Terrors including the sword will be against My people; Therefore strike your thigh. (Ezekiel 21:12)
12 Behold, these are the ungodly,Who are always at ease; They increase in riches…19 Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors. (Psalms 73:12,19)
25 Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke, 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, 27 When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you. (Proverbs 1:25-27)
5 Also they are afraid of height, And of terrors in the way (Ecclesiastes 12:5).
Notice the prophecy in Deuteronomy 32:25 says that there will be terror within. This is a reference to within lands dominated by descendants of Jacob, which includes the USA. It is also a reference that some within the lands will cause the terrors. The USA born terrorist in this case, fulfills that.
Others that the US has allowed in will also be involved in future terrorism.
As Jesus said:
37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch! (Mark 13:37)
Perhaps it should be noted that more terrorist incidents between now and November may well affect the outcome of the USA presidential election.
After I typed the above, I then saw the following news item:

Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump responded Sunday to the mass shooting overnight at a Florida nightclub in which dozens were killed or wounded.
“Really bad shooting in Orlando. Police investigating possible terrorism. Many people dead and wounded,” tweeted Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee.
Clinton, the likely Democratic nominee, posted on her Twitter feed: “Woke up to hear the devastating news from FL. Notice that Donald Trump used the expression “possible terrorism,” whereas Hillary Clinton instead called it a “horrific act.” Hillary Clinton’s ‘politically correct’ statements may help her with some voters, but Donald Trump’s willingness to be more forthright on incidents like this may end up helping him.
We will see who God allows to win in November (Daniel 4:17).
