Pope Francis objecting to current ‘piecemeal’ World War III; Vatican radio reports bishops blasting Russia for blood in Ukraine

Pope Francis made an impassioned appeal for peace in the world during his Angelus address…

Before leading the faithful in the recitation of the Angelus prayer, the Pope entrusted the Church to Our Lady of Sorrows, whose feast is celebrated tomorrow.

A “piecemeal” World War III may have already begun with the current spate of crimes, massacres and destruction, Pope Francis has warned. … “War is madness,” the Pope said…

“Even today, after the second failure of another world war, perhaps one can speak of a third war, one fought piecemeal, with crimes, massacres, destruction,” he said. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-29190890

An ‘Angelus address’ is essentially a round of prayers to ‘Mary.’ Regarding ‘Mary,’ the so-called Lady of Sorrows, interestingly, there is a ‘Lady of Sorrows’ church relatively near us in Santa Barbara, California.

Getting back to war, a day before the Pope’s comments, Vatican Radio reported the following about bishops denouncing Russia:

(Vatican Radio) Ukrainian Greek-Catholic bishops from around the world, meeting in Lviv for their annual Holy Synod, have appealed to the international community to help restore peace in Ukraine.

“Ukraine is flowing with blood!” the bishops began, noting the “direct military intervention” in Ukraine by Russia. The bishops have also decried the “unprecedented level of hatred and distortion” taking place in the media.

“The entire world has been able to witness how, over the last months, the aggressor commits crimes against humanity on the territory of Ukraine,” referring to the intentional downing of Malaysian airlines flight MH17 in July, in which 298 people were killed. The bishops also noted the many people suffering from lack of medical assistance, the thousands of people who have been kidnapped and tortured, and the hundreds of thousands of refugees forced to flee their homes. “If these crimes are not immediately stopped,” the bishops predict, “with the onset of the winter cold, the death toll will increase tenfold.” They also warn that, those attacking Ukraine “will not hesitate tomorrow to turn their weaponry against anyone, in their own country and beyond its borders, or attack any other nation in the world.”

In this context, the bishops have appealed “to the consciences of believers of all denominations and faiths… and all people of good will, to heads of state and members of the international community: ‘Stop the bloodshed in Ukraine!’” Silence, inaction, or reluctance to recognize the seriousness of the situation, they say, will make the world “an accomplice of the sin of murder, which cries to heaven for justice.” http://www.news.va/en/news/bishops-in-synod-ukraine-is-flowing-with-blood

The head of the Ukrainian Orthodox denounced Russia, and particularly made references to Vladimir Putin as the murderous Cain of the Bible recently as well (see Ukrainians and separatists accused of war crimes; Orthodox Patriarch refers to Putin as ‘Cain’ and under Satan’s action).

As far as war goes, history shows that Francis’ church has directly and employed employed violence against perceived opponents throughout the centuries.

Mary is NOT the Answer

Pope Francis’ solution to war is often to tell people to pray to his version of Mary to intervene. He also has called her “the Queen of Peace,” a title that the Bible never gives Jesus’ mother. Pope Francis continually brings up his version of ‘Mary,’ tells people to turn to her, and pray to her for many things. He even had his pontificate consecrated to the ‘Lady of Fatima’ (Pope Francis’ pontificate consecrated to ‘Lady of Fatima’) which many falsely claim is the mother of Jesus (for many more details related to Fatima and the Vatican’s plans, get the book Fatima Shock! And again today, Pope Francis entrusted the Church of Rome to his unbiblical version of her.

Although Pope Francis is a religious leader of a church that claims to believe the Bible, no verse in the Bible says to pray to, turn to, or call upon, the name of Mary. Notice also that the only two times the DRB (a Roman Catholic Bible) uses the term intercession it is referring to Jesus, not Mary:

34 Who is he that shall condemn? Christ Jesus that died, yea that is risen also again; who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. (Romans 8:34, DRB)

25 Whereby he is able also to save for ever them that come to God by him; always living to make intercession for us. (Hebrews 7:25, DRB)

Mary is not the intercessor of the Bible, nor was she considered to be by the early Christian church (see also Mary, the Mother of Jesus and the Apparitions). Considering that Mary provides intercession is not biblically-proper and has other negative consequences. No true Church of God would ever pray to be entrusted to Jesus’ deceased mother (here are links to two free online booklets which helps show which is the true Christian church Where is the True Christian Church Today? and Continuing History of the Church of God).

We are not to call on, or turn to, Mary, but on the Lord God Jesus:

22 But flee thou youthful desires, and pursue justice, faith, charity, and peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (2 Timothy 2:22, DRB)

We are to trust God, according to the Bible, not a ‘Lady of Sorrows’:

⁵ Trust wholeheartedly in Yahweh, put no faith in your own perception;⁶ acknowledge him in every course you take, and he will see that your paths are smooth. (NJB, a Catholic translation of the Bible)

Sadly, by telling people to put trust in ‘Mary,’ many are leaning on their own understanding as the God of the Bible never says to do that.

Notice who is the Lord of peace according to the Apostle Paul:

16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you everlasting peace in every place. The Lord be with you all. 17 The salutation of Paul with my own hand; which is the sign in every epistle. So I write. 18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. (2 Thessalonians 3:16-18)

Pope Francis may look like a lamb to some, but he truly speaks like a dragon (cf. Revelation 13:11).
