Australia and New Zealand in Prophecy

Are there biblical and even non-biblical prophecies that point to the nations of Australia and New Zealand?

If so, what do they teach?

Have any been fulfilled?

What about places like the Cook Islands and Australian external territories like Cocos, Coral Sea, Christmas, and Norfolk islands?

Will future prophecies still be fulfilled?

How will Australia and New Zealand be affected?

Notice something from the old Worldwide Church of God (WCG):

One full third of the Bible is prophecy, and about ninety percent of this prophecy is for us today. Most of it is directed specifically at the nations of modern Israel — we in the U. S., Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the other English-speaking lands. (Waltar EM. Famine in Prophecy! Tomorrow's World Magazine November 1969)

So, we see something in the above concerning English-speaking lands being tied in with prophecy and Israel.

Blessings Promised to the Descendants of Joseph

The Bible shows that the Hebrew patriarch Jacob, also named Israel, had 12 sons (Genesis 35:22). His son Joseph appears to have been the eleventh one. This Joseph is the one who had dreams (Genesis 37:5-11) and God gave him the ability to interpret them, but his envious brothers sold him into slavery (Genesis 37:26-28). He is the one that told Pharaoh to store food during seven good years to prepare for seven very lean years (Genesis 41:14-37).

Even though he was not the oldest son, the Bible shows that Joseph received the birthright:

1 Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel--he was indeed the firstborn, but because he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph, the son of Israel, so that the genealogy is not listed according to the birthright; 2 yet Judah prevailed over his brothers, and from him came a ruler, although the birthright was Joseph's-- (1 Chronicles 5:1-2)

In this case, the birthright had to do with future national greatness, consistent with what was first promised to Abraham. That was then passed down to Abraham's son Isaac, then to Isaac's son Jacob.

Now, before Jacob's death in Egypt, Joseph took his two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh to visited his ailing father.

1 Now it came to pass after these things that Joseph was told, "Indeed your father is sick"; and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim. 2 And Jacob was told, "Look, your son Joseph is coming to you"; and Israel strengthened himself and sat up on the bed. 3 Then Jacob said to Joseph: "God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me, 4 and said to me, 'Behold, I will make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will make of you a multitude of people, and give this land to your descendants after you as an everlasting possession.' 5 And now your two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine. (Genesis 48:1-5)

So, Jacob asked more or less adopted Ephraim and Manasseh as his own sons. When he saw them there, he then called to bless them:

8 Then Israel saw Joseph's sons, and said, "Who are these?" 9 And Joseph said to his father, "They are my sons, whom God has given me in this place." And he said, "Please bring them to me, and I will bless them." (Genesis 48:8-9)

12 So Joseph brought them from beside his knees, and he bowed down with his face to the earth. 13 And Joseph took them both, Ephraim with his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh with his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought them near him. 14 Then Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it on Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh's head, guiding his hands knowingly, for Manasseh was the firstborn. (Genesis 48:12-14)

Now, Joseph had directed Ephraim, the youngest son, toward Jacob's left hand and Manasseh, the eldest, toward Jacob's right hand (verse 13), so the firstborn would receive the greater blessing. But notice that Jacob crossed his arms and laid his right hand on the younger Ephraim, "guiding his hands wittingly" (verse 14).

Joseph thought this was a mistake, but it wasn't:

18 And Joseph said to his father, "Not so, my father, for this one is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head." 19 But his father refused and said, "I know, my son, I know. He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great; but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations." 20 So he blessed them that day, saying, "By you Israel will bless, saying, 'May God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh!' " And thus he set Ephraim before Manasseh. (Genesis 48:18-20)

Ephraim was thus blessed so that his descendants would become a company of nations and share the staggering birthright blessings with his brother Manasseh.

Ephraim represents the British descended peoples. We see them in the British Isles, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, with some also in lands like South Africa. The descendants of Manasseh ended up settling what became the USA--prophesied to be great (verse 18). Australia and New Zealand began to be Anglicized after the British explorer Captain James Cook visited them in the late 18th century and mapped parts of their coastlines.

Now let's back up to a couple of versese I intentionally skipped:

15 And he blessed Joseph, and said: "God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, The God who has fed me all my life long to this day, 16 The Angel who has redeemed me from all evil, Bless the lads; Let my name be named upon them, And the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; And let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth." (Genesis 48:15-16)

In Genesis 32:28, God changed Jacob's name to Israel. And in Genesis 48:16, Israel placed his name on the descendants of Joseph. Hence, that is why we say that some of the prophecies regarding "Israel' are not references simply to the tiny nation called that now, but also include places like the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

As far as being named after Isaac, the name "Saxon" has been reported to have been derived from the term "Isaac's son":

The Saxons

What then is the degree of parentage between the Saxons and the Scythians? ... the "Sacae," upon arriving in Western Europe, notably in the British Isles, took the general name "Saxons."

"Among the diverse nations known under the name Scythians, the Sakai or Sacae represent the ancestors of the Saxons.... This fact can be affirmed without violating the chances of probability. Sakal-Suna, or "Sons of Sakal" is the same thing as "Saxons" (The History of the Anglo-Saxons, Turner, Vol. 2, Chap. 1, p. 81, emphasis ours).

In all likelihood, the exact derivation of the name "Sacae" — or "Sakae" — is from Isaac, the father of Israel. The names "Sacae" or "Isaac" have the same etymological root. Because of the fact that the vowels were mute in the ancient Hebrew language, the two names have the same pronunciation.
"Saxons" — or "Sacal-Suna" — represent then a variation of "Isaac's sons." This well demonstrates the truth, for the Israelites were the sons of Isaac, by Jacob! (Apartian D. The French-Speaking Peoples In Prophecy. Ambassador College Thesis, 1961)

Now, let's notice that Jacob/Israel also gave an end time prophesy for the descendants of Joseph:

1 And Jacob called his sons and said, "Gather together, that I may tell you what shall befall you in the last days: ...

22 "Joseph is a fruitful bough, A fruitful bough by a well; His branches run over the wall. 23 The archers have bitterly grieved him, Shot at him and hated him. 24 But his bow remained in strength, And the arms of his hands were made strong By the hands of the Mighty God of Jacob (From there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel), 25 By the God of your father who will help you, And by the Almighty who will bless you With blessings of heaven above, Blessings of the deep that lies beneath, Blessings of the breasts and of the womb. 26 The blessings of your father Have excelled the blessings of my ancestors, Up to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills. They shall be on the head of Joseph, And on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers. (Genesis 49:1, 22-26)

The "crown" in this case seems to refer to the British crown.

A crown those in Australia and New Zealand have been at least partially under since the 19th century.

Anyway, note that massive blessings were promised for the last days. And if you look at world history, it should be clear that the blessings fell upon the British empire and the USA starting around the beginning of the 19th century.

Notice the following from the old Radio/Worldwide Church of God:

Times of Israel’s Punishment a Key to Understanding

Israel was promised great national blessings, including national greatness if they would obey God. But God also promised that if they obstinately refused to obey Him, if they refused to follow His laws and let Him rule their lives, then He would punish them for a period called seven times (Lev. 26).

The Bible itself defines this period of seven times for us. If you turn to Revelation the twelfth chapter, and compare verses 6 and 14 you will see that the word time in prophecy simply means a year, hence seven times would be seven years or 2520 days.

Now let’s notice another key. In Numbers 14:34, God said Israel would bear their iniquities in the wilderness after the number of days they searched the land of Canaan, forty days, each day for a year.

Then seven times or 2520 prophetic days would equal 2520 literal years! This period of seven times or 2520 years punishment did come upon Israel because they went their own ways and would no: submit to the rule of God. Israel went into captivity about 721 B.C. and did not become a great people again until their times of punishment ceased about 1800 A.D. At that time the descendants of the ancient House of Israel -America and Britain and the democratic peoples of the world--began to rise to such wealth and power as the world has never enjoyed before all because of the promises made to Abraham. The Seven Prophetic Times

Now continue in Leviticus 26: “And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins” (verse 18).

It is important to understand this!

This expression “seven times” is translated into the English from a Hebrew word which conveys a dual meaning. The original Hebrew word Moses wrote is shibah. It is defined as “seven times,” and also as “sevenfold.” The “seven times” implies duration or continuation of punishment. But the word also conveys the meaning of “sevenfold,” or seven times greater intensity of punishment—as a punishment that is sevenfold more intense. In this sense, the meaning would be the same as in Daniel 3:19, where King Nebuchadnezzar, in a rage, commanded that the furnace into which Daniel’s three friends were to be thrown should be made seven times hotter.

Now understand the “seven times”--or seven prophetic “times.” For this is a prophecy. In prophecy, a “time” is a prophetic 360-day year. And, during Israel’s punishment, each day represented a year being fulfilled. ...

But when that 2520-year withholding of the birthright had expired, God was faithful to His unconditional promise to Abraham! Not because of any British or American goodness, superiority, or worthiness, but because of God’s faithfulness to His promise, beginning in 1800 these two birthright peoples suddenly burst forth as the greatest world powers in all history! 721 B.C. is when the ten-tribed nation of Israel, sometimes referred to by the name of the tribe Ephraim (Ezekiel 37:16), was sieged by the ancient Assyrians. 2520 years later brings us to 1800 (for more on the timing, etc. check out the article The Times of the Gentiles) for the birthright promises to be granted to Joseph's sons--Ephraim and Manasseh (1 Chronicles 5:1).

Along with Great Britain, Canada, and the United States, Australia and New Zealand inherited an enormously rich slices of the earth's real estate and have been able to greatly prosper.

How much so?

Well, it was said that the sun did not set on the British Empire.

Even though that is gone, consider also that the Anglo-American nations are four of the nine wealthiest nations on the earth:

The US is currently the wealthiest country in the world at $62.584 trillion, followed by China ($24.803 trillion;  Japan ($19.522 trillion), the UK ($9.919 trillion), Germany ($9.660 trillion), India ($8.230 trillion), France (6.649 trillion), Canada ($6.393 trillion), Australia ($6.142 trillion) and Italy ($4.276 trillion) among the top ten. (https://www.khaleejtimes.com/international/india-us-china-among-worlds-10-richest-nations)

If you add New Zealand (see New Zealand's net wealth passes $1.5 trillion), then the Anglo-American nations have wealth of $86.538 trillion, which is 40.25% of the entire world and those nations have about 460,000,000 people, or about 6% of the April 2019 world population estimate of 7,700,000,000.

Truly an economic influence well beyond their relative population size.

God promised wealth to Joseph and to his descendants. The people of Australia and New Zealand have inherited their wealth because of promises God made to the Hebrew patriarchs of old.

Is Isaiah 49:12 a Reference to Australia and New Zealand?

The word "Australia" seems to signify southern lands. And speaking of southern lands like Australia and New Zealand, notice a prophecy in Isaiah 49:12:

12 Surely these shall come from afar; Look! Those from the north and the west, And these from the land of Sinim. (Isaiah 49:12, NKJV)

ecce isti de longe venient et ecce illi ab aquilone et mari et isti de terra australi (Isaiah 49:12; Jerome translation: Latin Vulgate Bible)

Some have speculated that the lands from afar, specifically Sinim (NKJV)/isti de terra australi (Latin Vulgate) could be referring to certain modern lands in the South Pacific.

For example, Wikipedia (accessed 03/14/12) has stated:

Australia ... the name Australia is derived from the Latin australis, meaning "southern". The country has been referred to colloquially as Oz since the early 20th century ...

Legends of Terra Australis Incognita—an "unknown land of the South"—date back to Roman times and were commonplace in medieval geography, although not based on any documented knowledge of the continent. Following European discovery, names for the Australian landmass were often references to the famed Terra Australis.

The earliest recorded use of the word Australia in English was in 1625 in "A note of Australia del Espíritu Santo, written by Sir Richard Hakluyt", published by Samuel Purchas in Hakluytus Posthumus, a corruption of the original Spanish name "Tierra Austral del Espíritu Santo" (Southern Land of the Holy Spirit) for an island in Vanuatu. The Dutch adjectival form Australische was used in a Dutch book in Batavia (Jakarta) in 1638, to refer to the newly discovered lands to the south. Australia was later used in a 1693 translation of Les Aventures de Jacques Sadeur dans la Découverte et le Voyage de la Terre Australe, a 1676 French novel by Gabriel de Foigny, under the pen-name Jacques Sadeur. Referring to the entire South Pacific region, Alexander Dalrymple used it in An Historical Collection of Voyages and Discoveries in the South Pacific Ocean in 1771.

Notice something that the late Herbert W. Armstrong taught about what this passage of scripture in Isaiah 49:12 may be referring to:

Referring to the house of ISRAEL, not Judah (Isaiah 49:3,6), God says: "Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the NORTH and from the WEST; and these from the land of Sinim" (Isa. 49:12). In the Hebrew, the language in which this was originally inspired, there is no word for "northwest," but this term is designated by the phrase, "the north and the west." It means, literally, the northwest! The Vulgate renders "Sinim" as "Australi," or "Australia." So we now have the location northwest of Jerusalem and even spreading around the world. (Armstrong HW. THE UNITED STATES AND BRITAIN IN PROPHECY, 1954, 1967, 1972, 1975, 1980 edition)

Notice some comments on Isaiah 49:12 about Sinim:

Isaiah 49:12

Behold, these shall come from far ... and these from the land of Sinim. The Arabians and other Asiatics called China Sin, or Tchin: the Chinese had no special name for themselves, but either adopted that of the reigning dynasty or some high-sounding titles. This view of "Sinim" suits the context, which requires a people to be meant "from far," and distinct, from those "from the north and from the west" (Gesenius). Sinim

a people noticed in (Isaiah 49:12) as living at the extremity of the known world. They may be identified with the classical Sinoe, the inhabitants of the southern part of China. (Smith's Bible Dictionary)

Isaiah 49:12...

From the land of Sinim - There have been many different opinions in regard to the 'land of Sinim.' The name 'Sinim' (סינים siyniym) occurs nowhere else in the Bible, and of course it is not easy to determine what country is meant. It is evident that it is some remote country, and it is remarkable that it is the only land specified here by name. Some, it is said, should come from far, some from the north, others from the west, and another portion from the country here specifically mentioned. Jerome understands it of the south in general - Isti de terra Australi...The Chaldee also interprets it as Jerome has done, of the south. The Syriac has not translated it, but retained the name Sinim...Grotius supposes that it means the region of Sinim to the south of Palestine, and Vitringa also coincides with this opinion...

Gesenius supposes that it refers to the Chinese, and that the country here referred to is Sina or China. 'This very ancient and celebrated people,' says he, 'was known to the Arabians and Syrians by the name Sin, Tein, Tshini; and a Hebrew writer might well have heard of them, especially if sojourning in Babylon, the metropolis as it were of all Asia. This name appears to have been given to the Chinese by the other Asiatics; for the Chinese themselves do not employ it, and seem indeed to be destitute of any ancient domestic name, either adopting the names of the reigning dynasties, or ostentatiously assuming high-sounding titles, as "people of the empire in the center of the world." The above is interesting and perhaps Isaiah 49:12 hints that Australia/New Zealand, which are lands of the southern hemisphere and past China (from the perspective of Jerusalem), could have possibly been identified so long ago. This is not necessarily specific identification of the lands now known as Australia and New Zealand but it seems possible. From a Jerusalem perspective, Australia and New Zealand are far off lands and in the south east (and north and west were referring somewhere else--possible the UK and USA respectively).

Also, notice something I first saw on July 23, 2023 from the late Garner Ted Armstrong in the old Radio Church of God back in 1960:

The Australian people have seen the way the United States has FAILED to stand up to the Communists in IndoChina, the Mideast, Hungary, and, in many instances, in acts of aggression against unarmed American airplanes or even civilian personnel. …

The United States … may become totally unable to protect Australia! While the United States and Great Britain are faced with the prophesied revival of the “beast,” … in Europe, forming the rebuilding of the ancient Roman Empire, Australia may well be taken over by an entirely different enemy! Australia, trying to populate and industrialize to stave off Communism, may become the SLAVES OF COMMUNISTS! (Armstrong GT. Populate or Perish! Plain Truth, January 1960)

It is interesting, to me at least, that Garner Ted Armstrong and I came to basically the same conclusions many decades apart as we never spoke together, nor had I seen his view on this until July 23, 2023.

World events since Garner Ted Armstrong wrote that certainly look consistent with that.

Blessings AND Cursings

But Bible prophecy shows that unless the Australian and New Zealand people they change their ways and repent of their national sins, they stand to lose it all.

In the 28th chapter of the Book of Deuteronomy, God long ago revealed how the Israelite descended peoples, such as Australia and New Zealand could recover from its problems and be guaranteed prosperity in the future:

1"Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:
3 "Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.
4 "Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.
5 "Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
6 "Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.
7 "The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.
8 "The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
9 "The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. 10 Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. 11 And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. 12 The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. 13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. 14 So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them. (Deuteronomy 28:1-14)

Many blessings.

Notice that all these blessings were guaranteed only "if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day, being careful to do them, and if you do not turn aside from any of the words which I command you... to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them " (verses 13 and 14, RSV).

Then God gives a startling list of curses for disobedience:

15 "But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

16 "Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country.
17 "Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
18 "Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.

19 "Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.

20 "The Lord will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me. 21 The Lord will make the plague cling to you until He has consumed you from the land which you are going to possess. 22 The Lord will strike you with consumption, with fever, with inflammation, with severe burning fever, with the sword, with scorching, and with mildew; they shall pursue you until you perish. 23 And your heavens which are over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you shall be iron. 24 The Lord will change the rain of your land to powder and dust; from the heaven it shall come down on you until you are destroyed.

25 "The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies; you shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them; and you shall become troublesome to all the kingdoms of the earth. 26 Your carcasses shall be food for all the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and no one shall frighten them away. 27 The Lord will strike you with the boils of Egypt, with tumors, with the scab, and with the itch, from which you cannot be healed. 28 The Lord will strike you with madness and blindness and confusion of heart. 29 And you shall grope at noonday, as a blind man gropes in darkness; you shall not prosper in your ways; you shall be only oppressed and plundered continually, and no one shall save you. (Deuteronomy 28:15-29)

The prophet Ezekiel (cf. Ezekiel 5) also reveals that because the modern descendants of the sons of Jacob refuse to repent, one third of the English speaking world will die in disease epidemics resulting from famine. The cities will be destroyed in war by an enemy yet to appear on the world scene, and with the destruction of our cities another one third of our people will perish.

The old Worldwide Church of God taught that Ezekiel 5 and 6, as well as the latter portion of Hosea 5, applied to the English-dominated nations, specifying Australia, but also by implication, including New Zealand (Noller DK. Australia the Beautiful ... Australia the Condemned! Plain Truth Magazine July-August 1983).

Notice some portions of those scriptures:

11 'Therefore, as I live,' says the Lord God, 'surely, because you have defiled My sanctuary with all your detestable things and with all your abominations, therefore I will also diminish you; My eye will not spare, nor will I have any pity. 12 One-third of you shall die of the pestilence, and be consumed with famine in your midst; and one-third shall fall by the sword all around you; and I will scatter another third to all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them.

13 'Thus shall My anger be spent, and I will cause My fury to rest upon them, and I will be avenged; and they shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken it in My zeal, when I have spent My fury upon them. 14 Moreover I will make you a waste and a reproach among the nations that are all around you, in the sight of all who pass by.

15 'So it shall be a reproach, a taunt, a lesson, and an astonishment to the nations that are all around you, when I execute judgments among you in anger and in fury and in furious rebukes. I, the Lord, have spoken. 16 When I send against them the terrible arrows of famine which shall be for destruction, which I will send to destroy you, I will increase the famine upon you and cut off your supply of bread. 17 So I will send against you famine and wild beasts, and they will bereave you. Pestilence and blood shall pass through you, and I will bring the sword against you. I, the Lord, have spoken.'" (Ezekiel 5:11-17)

1 Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 2 "Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them, 3 and say, 'O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God! Thus says the Lord God to the mountains, to the hills, to the ravines, and to the valleys: "Indeed I, even I, will bring a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places. 4 Then your altars shall be desolate, your incense altars shall be broken, and I will cast down your slain men before your idols. 5 And I will lay the corpses of the children of Israel before their idols, and I will scatter your bones all around your altars. 6 In all your dwelling places the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate, so that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, your idols may be broken and made to cease, your incense altars may be cut down, and your works may be abolished. 7 The slain shall fall in your midst, and you shall know that I am the Lord.

8 "Yet I will leave a remnant, so that you may have some who escape the sword among the nations, when you are scattered through the countries. 9 Then those of you who escape will remember Me among the nations where they are carried captive, because I was crushed by their adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols; they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations. 10 And they shall know that I am the Lord; I have not said in vain that I would bring this calamity upon them." (Ezekiel 6:1-10)

14 For I will be like a lion to Ephraim,
And like a young lion to the house of Judah.
I, even I, will tear them and go away;
I will take them away, and no one shall rescue.
15 I will return again to My place
Till they acknowledge their offense.
Then they will seek My face;
In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me. (Hosea 5:14-15)

Those of Australia and New Zealand, as well as the whole world, will eventually know that the God of the Bible is real.

It will take the return of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, to be able save the Australian and New Zealand people and their kindred worldwide from total annihilation (Hosea 13:9; Matthew 24:21-22). Jesus will return to earth as King of kings and establish God's government over all nations.

How Will Destruction Happen?

While various people will claim that the Europeans are the friends and allies of America and Britain, notice the following:

1 How lonely sits the city
That was full of people!
How like a widow is she,
Who was great among the nations!
The princess among the provinces
Has become a slave!

2 She weeps bitterly in the night,
Her tears are on her cheeks;
Among all her lovers
She has none to comfort her.
All her friends have dealt treacherously with her;
They have become her enemies. (Lamentations 1:1-2)

The USA and Great Britain (including its Anglo-Commonwealth members, like Australia, New Zealand, and Canada) were "great among the nations." And the Bible is clear that betrayal is coming from national FRIENDS!

Notice the following:

24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power;
He shall destroy fearfully,
And shall prosper and thrive;
He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people.

25 "Through his cunning
He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule;
And he shall exalt himself in his heart.
He shall destroy many in their prosperity. (Daniel 8:24-25a)

The one doing the above is the coming European Beast power.

Nations such as New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the UK, and USA will be destroyed "in their prosperity." This is not talking about an invasion of Africa or South America (though the King of the North will also take over the Middle East per Daniel 11:40-43 and also prosper from that). This is referring to a group like the Anglo-descended nations.

Catholics have various private predictions of the end of the English-speaking peoples.

Here are a couple of them:

Saint Cataldus of Tarentino (c. 500): "The Great Monarch will be in war till he is forty years of age....he will assemble great armies and expel tyrants from his empire. He will conquer England {the Anglo-Saxons, possibly referring to the USA} and other island empires {possibly referring to the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand}" (Connor, Edward. Prophecy for Today. Imprimatur + A.J. Willinger, Bishop of Monterey-Fresno; Reprint: Tan Books and Publishers, Rockford (IL), 1984, p.30).

St. Columbine (d. 597): The enemies of the English shall be aroused in battle--they who reside in the eastern and western parts of the world...the English shall be defeated...After the English shall be defeated in this battle, they shall be harassed by every quarter; like a fawn surrounded by a pack of voracious hounds, shall be the position of the English amidst their enemies. The English afterwards shall dwindle down to a disreputable people (Culleton, R. Gerald.  The Prophets and Our Times. Nihil Obstat: L. Arvin.  Imprimatur: Philip G. Scher, Bishop of Monterey-Fresno, November 15, 1941.  Reprint 1974, TAN Books, Rockford (IL), pp. 131,132).

St. Senanus (d. 560): They (English) themselves will betray each other: in consequence their sovereignty will be broken... (Culleton, R. Gerald.  The Prophets and Our Times. Nihil Obstat: L. It should be noted that the term "English" was not really used in the sixth century, but something in those writings as translated by various Catholics pointed to the people of the British Isles other than the Irish.

The Bible, by the way, does indicate that the English and Americans will betray each other.

21 Manasseh shall devour Ephraim, and Ephraim Manasseh;
Together they shall be against Judah.

For all this His anger is not turned away,
But His hand is stretched out still. (Isaiah 9:21)

Alliances will not hold as many seem to think that they will.

But specifically why else would the Anglo-American nations be destroyed?

Why would God allow some of the greatest nations of all time to be destroyed as the Anglo-Americans have been in the forefront of distributing Bibles, helping in humanitarian matters, assisting with international disasters, etc.?

Because of their rebellion against Him (Hosea 13:16), their deep corruption (Hosea 9:9), and because the New Testament clearly teaches:

48 For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required (Luke 12:48).

The U.S.A. and its Anglo-allies have been given much. Yet, the three “most sinful nations” according to a 2010 BBC report based on the classic ‘seven deadly sins’—lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride’— were Australia, the United States, and Canada (‘The Most Sinful Nation on Earth,’ February 2010, p. 30). The United Kingdom was 6th on that list. And while one can argue if other nations should be ahead of them on a sin-list, the reality is that the Anglo-nations promote a lot of sin. And they accept more and more sin.

They also promote sin.

Let’s briefly look at another warning in Isaiah 30:12-13:

12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel:

“Because you despise this word, And trust in oppression and perversity, And rely on them,  13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you Like a breach ready to fall, A bulge in a high wall, Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant.

Of course, more and more, the Anglo-American nations are trusting in policies that encourage perversity. Prostitution is legal in New Zealand, Australia, and parts of the USA. New Zealand, interestingly, has the highest promiscuity rate for women in the entire world according to one study (New Zealand women most promiscuous Sydney Morning Herald AAP - Oct 13, 2007. http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2007/10/13/1191696214489.html). The Anglo-nations have seen rises in homosexuality and are often changing laws to accommodate this biblically prohibited practice (Australia has some of the biggest "gay pride" parades in the world and the USA is increasingly pushing LGBT issues around the world).

While there is oppression in these nations (especially racial), the Hebrew word for it can also be translated “unjust gain.” This can include not just the historical exploitation of of various peoples, but can probably also include the fact that the economies of the Anglo-American nations for the past few decades has been benefiting from the gains of foreigners loaning money to it. The USA is the most indebted nation in human history, and the UK is the seventh most indebted nation, based upon national/sovereign debt.

Australia and New Zealand seem to have a fair amount of debt themselves:

Total debt held by Australian governments will more than double from pre-pandemic levels to a record $2 trillion, and peak above 80 per cent of gross domestic product by 2024-25, according to global investment bank UBS.06/23/21 https://www.afr.com/policy/economy/total-australian-state-and-federal-government-debt-to-double-to-2trn-20210623-p583fz

Government Debt in New Zealand increased to 83375 NZD Million in 2020 from 57736 NZD Million in 2019. source: New Zealand Treasury accessed 09/16/21 https://tradingeconomics.com/new-zealand/government-debt

Their debt problems will likely be grouped in with that of the USA and UK in the future. Australia and New Zealand both grearly increased their debt since 2010..

One or more debtor nations will be taken over in the appointed time of the end per prophecies in Habakkuk 2.

Notice that after Jesus returns, the scattered people (identified as the outcasts of Israel, Judah, and Ephraim) will be gathered from many nations:

1 "Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you, 2 and you return to the Lord your God and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul, 3 that the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you. 4 If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you. 5 Then the Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. 6 And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live. 7 "Also the Lord your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you. 8 And you will again obey the voice of the Lord and do all His commandments which I command you today. (Deuteronomy 30:1-9)

10 You make us turn back from the enemy, And those who hate us have taken spoil for themselves. 11 You have given us up like sheep intended for food, And have scattered us among the nations. (Psalms 44:10-11)

7 "Therefore, behold, the days are coming," says the Lord, "that they shall no longer say, 'As the Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,' 8 but, 'As the Lord lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel from the north country and from all the countries where I had driven them.' And they shall dwell in their own land." (Jeremiah 23:7-8)

Isaiah suggests that apparently significant numbers will end up in certain specific places:

11 It shall come to pass in that day
That the Lord shall set His hand again the second time
To recover the remnant of His people who are left,
From Assyria and Egypt,
From Pathros and Cush,
From Elam and Shinar,
From Hamath and the islands of the sea.

12 He will set up a banner for the nations,
And will assemble the outcasts of Israel,
And gather together the dispersed of Judah
From the four corners of the earth.
13 Also the envy of Ephraim shall depart,
And the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off;
Ephraim shall not envy Judah,
And Judah shall not harass Ephraim. (Isaiah 11:11-13)

Isaiah's writing above gives some clues as to who gets some of the scattered people.

And the first group Isaiah mentioned is Assyria. Assyria also seems to be from whence the King of the North descends. This would be the Germanic, and perhaps other, parts of Europe.

3 I taught Ephraim to walk ... 5 ... But the Assyrian shall be his king, Because they refused to repent. 6 And the sword shall slash in his cities, Devour his districts, And consume them, Because of their own counsels. 7 My people are bent on backsliding from Me. Though they call to the Most High, None at all exalt Him. (Hosea 11:3a, 5b-7)

Ephraim is the progenitor of the British-descended peoples, including those in Australia. The prophesied shame is starting to come upon the Anglo-American powers. Without repentance, increased pride is occurring, and this will be followed by the prophesied destruction of the Anglo-American nations. And yes, other nations have their sins, but they will be punished later--But you personally can and SHOULD repent.

Individually, and nationally, repentance is needed:

20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.

21 "But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 22 None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live. 23 Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?" says the Lord God, "and not that he should turn from his ways and live? (Ezekiel 18:20-23)

30 "Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways," says the Lord God. "Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin. 31 Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel? 32 For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies," says the Lord God. "Therefore turn and live!" (Ezekiel 18:30-32)

Your Bible says many people have made an OUTWARD show of returning to Him or repenting, but they haven't done it WITH THEIR HEARTS! Ephraim's repentance, and for that matter, that of the rest of the world, is the outward, superficial, WORLDLY REPENTANCE with no real sincerity or DEEP feeling.

Many repent like Esau:

14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: 15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; 16 lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. 17 For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears. (Hebrews 12:14-17)

Esau was sorry for what happened, but did not truly repent towards God nor wish to switch from following the way of get to the way of give. His move towards repentance, like others in the world, was hollow.

After Jesus was executed, Judas "repented himself" (Matthew 27:3, KJV)--but it was TOO LATE. So, he "went and hanged himself" (Matthew 27:5), which demonstrated that Judas did not understand repentance.

DON'T take chances on it being TOO LATE for YOU! Probably it is NOT "too late" yet! Don't delay repenting and getting back to Christ!

Ultimately, people in those lands will be slaves and need to beg food from them:

4 We pay for the water we drink, And our wood comes at a price. 5 They pursue at our heels; We labor and have no rest. 6 We have given our hand to the Egyptians And the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread. 7 Our fathers sinned and are no more, But we bear their iniquities.  8 Servants rule over us; There is none to deliver us from their hand. (Lamentations 5:4-8)

They will be so hungry, that "Ephraim ... shall eat unclean things in Assyria" (Hosea 9:3). (More on unclean animals can be found in the article The New Testament Church, History, and Unclean Meats.)

Egypt in Isaiah 11 is the modern land of Egypt. Pathros seems to be in the Middle East/North Africa (cf. Jeremiah 44:15). So probably because of the deceptive deal between the King of the North and the King of the South (Daniel 11:27) (which may also be related to the deal being the Arabic powers and Assyria in Psalm 83:4-8), which they both apparently never intended to keep and is broken shortly thereafter (Daniel 11:40-43), some of the people end up in the Middle East. But because the King of the North overwhelms the King of the South, it is pretty unlikely that the King of the South actually will end up with any of the lands of the Anglo-Saxon peoples for much time, if at all.

Who Isaiah 11 refers to as Cush is tricky as Cush has two lines of descent. This could possibly be related to India or Pakistan or some others near the Middle East that supported the King of the South. Since India once was considered as a British colony, and since there still are many people of British descent in India, this could be the people that Isaiah was referring to. It is not clear if India would gain much British territory, but it may be that it would be granted the naval island base Diego Garcia and much of the rest of what is called the British Indian Ocean Territory (55 islands, of which Diego Garcia is the largest).

The Bible shows that in the end, a portion of the Cushites supports the King of the South and are defeated:

43 He shall become ruler of the treasures of gold and of silver, and all the precious things of Egypt, and the Libyans and the Cushites shall follow in his train (Daniel 11:43, ESV).

Thus, those that Daniel 11:43 refers to would be like those in other Middle Eastern/North African lands.

Elam, who descended from Shem (Genesis 10:22), seems to be a Caucasian-descended peoples, so this also may be another part of Europe. Elam seems to possibly be composed of some of the Slavic peoples, like those in Poland and Eastern Europe (Caudhurī P. India in Kurdistan. Qwality Book Company, 2005. Original from the University of Michigan. Digitized, Aug 27, 2008, p. 77). However, some believe that these are Persians, and hence may be associated with the modern nation of Iran as there was an Elamite kingdom there--but some may have moved north. Eastern Europe seems to be a place that more of the Anglo-Saxon peoples would end up in as opposed to Iran (but some could end up in Iran).

According to the 19th century researcher George Rawlinson:

"Shinar" in Scripture is always the low country about Babylon (Rawlinson G. The origin of nations: In two parts: On early civilisations. On ethnic affinities, etc. Part 1. Scribner, 1881. Original from Harvard University, Digitized Dec 12, 2007, p. 211).

And he is correct that Shinar in scripture seems to be in the Middle East (cf. Daniel 1:2), like Iraq. Others believe that Elam and Shinar make up some of the peoples of India and Sri Lanka. If so, perhaps some people go to them. On the other hand, since Elam and Shinar tend to be mentioned together (cf. Rawlinson, p. 231; Isaiah 11:11), and they were associated with ancient Babylon, it is possible that they will be part of the final Babylon. And as suggested with Elam, perhaps their descendants became part of the slavic peoples that now occupy Eastern Europe.

Isaiah 11's reference to Hamath seems to be to an area in Lebanon.

The "islands of the sea" in Isaiah 11 seems to suggest that people will be in various islands. This likely includes some left in Australia and New Zealand, but also may include Asian lands such as Japan and Indonesia.

Asian Prophecies?

The following Bible prophecies from Ezekiel and Isaiah seem to suggest that the Asians will end up with peoples, which would probably include Anglo-Saxon descended ones--like Australia and New Zealand:

13 Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were your traders. They bartered human lives and vessels of bronze for your merchandise. 14 Those from the house of Togarmah traded for your wares with horses, steeds, and mules. (Ezekiel 27:13-14)

9 That You may say to the prisoners, 'Go forth,' To those who are in darkness, 'Show yourselves.' "They shall feed along the roads, And their pastures shall be on all desolate heights. 10 They shall neither hunger nor thirst, Neither heat nor sun shall strike them; For He who has mercy on them will lead them, Even by the springs of water He will guide them. 11 I will make each of My mountains a road, And My highways shall be elevated. 12 Surely these shall come from afar; Look! Those from the north and the west, And these from the land of Sinim. (Isaiah 49:9-12)

Tubal and Meshech are related to Russia (see Russia: Its Origins and Prophesied Future) (Meshech with Moscow and Tubal possibly with Siberia). Javan was the son of Japheth, from whom the Oriental/Mongoloid race developed (but some have identified the Greeks as Javan). Others have considered that the Japanese could have descended from one or more of Javan's sons like Elishah and perhaps Tarshish (see Japan, Its Biblical Past and Future, Part 1: Any Witness?).

Some believe that Sinim refers to China and/or others in Asia.

The old Worldwide Church of God taught:

Gomer's third son, Togarmah, is specifically mentioned in Ezekiel 38. Togarmah, in part, settled ancient Armenia. Descendants of Togarmah also migrated eastward into Mongolia, where they are today found mixed with elements of Magog. Togarmah's modern-day descendants are also found in China's Sinkiang (Xin-giang) province and in Russian Siberia or Tartary. (Stump K. South Asia in Prophecy. Plain Truth, May 1980, pp. 13-14).

Islamic and other scholars have somewhat suggested that Javan may be related to China (see China, Its Biblical Past and Future, Part 1: Genesis and Chinese Characters).

Yes, it is prophesied that Asians will own and sell people, which looks to include those from Australia and New Zealand.

Although many do not accept that the USA and its Anglo-Saxon allies are descended from Joseph, all should still find the following end time scripture provides compelling evidence that the the USA, at least, will have its lands divided by the final King of the North:

39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain (Daniel 11:39).

The "he" in the Daniel 11:39 is the final end time King of the North; the final Beast of Revelation 13. Notice that he goes against the "strongest fortresses." And the lands of that power will be divided.

Who could have the "strongest fortresses"?

At this time, the strongest fortresses in the world belong to the USA and, to a much lessor degree (except as they align with the USA), its Anglo-Saxon-Celtic allies.

In the 20th and 21st centuries, Australian leaders have gone on record to acknowledge that they feel they must rely on the USA for protection--mostly meaning protection from Asians.

Remember that in WWII, Japan tried to take over all it could in the Pacific. It would have loved to end up with at least parts of Australia and New Zealand. This led to the ANZUS alliance between Australia, New Zealand, and the USA.

So, yes, Australia and New Zealand have tied themselves in with USA protection--they will not have it once the USA is gone. Could their lands be divided?

Now Daniel 11:39 is not the only verse concerning lands being divided.

Other verses of the Bible also show the land being divided:

16 The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them (Lamentations 4:16, KJV).

2 And I will enter into judgment with them there On account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land. They have also cast lots for my people...(Joel 3:2-3, NKJV).

17... Your land shall be divided by survey line; You shall die in a defiled land; And Israel shall surely be led away captive From his own land (Amos 7:17, NKJV)

I used the KJV for Lamentations 4:16 as it correctly translated the Hebrew word as divided. The is term translated as “scattered them” by the NKJV in Lamentations, but it is the same Hebrew word (Strong’s 2505) used in Daniel 11:39 translated as “divide.”

One day, Australia and New Zealand will no longer control their lands. 

Before going further, notice that after Jesus returns the following will be fulfilled:

7 For thus says the Lord: "Sing with gladness for Jacob, And shout among the chief of the nations; Proclaim, give praise, and say, 'O Lord, save Your people, The remnant of Israel!' 8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, And gather them from the ends of the earth, Among them the blind and the lame, The woman with child And the one who labors with child, together; A great throng shall return there. 9 They shall come with weeping, And with supplications I will lead them. I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters, In a straight way in which they shall not stumble; For I am a Father to Israel, And Ephraim is My firstborn. 10 "Hear the word of the Lord, O nations, And declare it in the isles afar off, and say, 'He who scattered Israel will gather him, And keep him as a shepherd does his flock.' (Jeremiah 31:7-10)

While the 'land of the north' has to do with end time Babylonian Europe (cf. Zechariah 2:6-7),  the "end of the earth" comment indicates that Russia and China will also have been involved. Some of the descendants of Jacob, which includes the Anglo-American nations (see Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel), will end up in the "ends of the earth" (this includes Russia, cf. Jeremiah 50:41) and will later be freed as Jeremiah 31 points to..

Back in 2009, I came across some interesting Chinese prophecies from the Tang Dynasty (7-10th century).  Notice one Chinese prophecy might hint that it involves dividing Australia and New Zealand with Europe.   It states:

Population mouth takes territories south of the Yangtze river. The capital is moved again. The two divide up the territories, of which each maintains and defends (Pui-Hua R. Ancient Chinese Prophecies Till the End of the World. AuthorHouse, Bloomington (IN), 2008, p. 164).

This may be related to a deal that perhaps the Chinese will make in the future with Europe (there are some ancient Chinese prophecies that discuss arrangements with some from the West), as opposed to military conquest.

It also may not be related to the taking of Australia or New Zealand, but perhaps might be. China is now heavily invested in Australia and may argue that it has rights to the land. Furthermore, in recent years, the Chinese have been buying a lot of real estate in Australia, beyond purchases of mineral assets:

Chinese capital investments in Australia are on the rise and are expected to be boosted further by recent changes to currency regulations that make it easier for wealthy Chinese to invest in property overseas. Notice the following additional Chinese prophecies which tie China in with some from the West.

Beautiful people come from the West. Korea, China and Japan are gradually at peace (Pui-Hua R.  Ancient Chinese Prophecies Till the End of the World.  AuthorHouse, Bloomington (IN), 2008, p. 85).

All negative forces are subservient…China now has a saint.  Even if he is not that great a hero (ibid, p. 89).

Germany and all of Europe are west of China. The “beautiful people” mentioned may be from the Beast and his false prophet which apparently will impress peoples in places including Asia. The “saint” will likely be “the false prophet” also known as the final Antichrist. I suspect that Satan may have inspired these Chinese prophecies so that the Chinese will one day point to them for their justification for getting involved with the Beast power of Revelation 13 (see also Satan’s Plan). The Bible says that the whole world will worship that Beast power (Revelation 13:4,8) and that would thus have to include China.

And China, for one, has its eyes on Australia.

And now the Global Times has not only suggested Australia be careful given, “Australia has inked a free trade agreement with China, its biggest trading partner, which makes its move of disturbing the South China Sea waters surprising to many.” And, more importantly, “Australia’s power means nothing compared to the security of China. If Australia steps into the South China Sea waters, it will be an ideal target for China to warn and strike.”

Australia is not even a “paper tiger,” it’s only a “paper cat” at best. At a time when its former caretaker country the UK is dedicated to developing relations with China, and almost the whole of Europe takes a neutral position, Australia has unexpectedly made itself a pioneer of hurting China’s interest with a fiercer attitude than countries directly involved in the South China Sea dispute. So, China is indicating that Australia is basically illegitimate (established through uncivilized means) and that its power basically means nothing to China. Furthermore,  China must take revenge and let it know it’s wrong.

And basically how?

Well, If Australia steps into the South China Sea waters, it will be an ideal target for China to warn and strike.

Additionally, economic threats were also alluded to.

This is not a surprise.

Back in 2009 when Hillary Clinton was US Secretary of State, in my book 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect, I wrote that China may take over Australia. Since I wrote that, my belief in that outcome has increased.

On June 24, 2010, the day it was announced that she became Prime Minister of Australia, I warned that I felt that Julia Gillard would take steps to fulfill prophecies that also could get the Chinese interested in taking over Australia (see Australia Now Has a Female Prime Minister: Prophetic Ramifications?).

And that happened.

Relying more on a declining military power is not the answer for Australia.  And even if the presence is not huge, just having US troops ‘permanently’ stationed in Australia shows more reliance by Australia on the USA’s military. …

The Australians themselves have had various concerns about China, but while they seem to feel that allowing the USA in the country in a bigger way will protect them, I have a different view.  The presence of US troops in China may be used as part of its possible future justification for taking the land of Australia.  The Chinese may claim something to the effect that Australia is really a military pawn/representative of the USA and thus, since the USA owes them money, taking over Australia will help settle that debt.

I basically wrote the warnings about Australia, because Global Times was correct that it was originally established by the United Kingdom and became a British colony. Because of biblical prophecies to the B’rit ish, the ‘covenant people’ (for some details, watch British are the Covenant People ), I was aware that certain prophecies that show blessings and cursings to the the descendants of Joseph’s son Ephraim would impact Australia (see also Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel).

The Chinese, interestingly enough, got control of the port in Darwin, and some have concerns:

The "Chinese Dream" involves the reassertion of the economic and political primacy that China claims it has enjoyed over neighbours for millennia. This agenda is now being pursued globally but most intensely in South-East Asia and Australia/New Zealand. ...

The commander of the US Pacific Air Forces, General Lori Robinson, has revealed talks had begun with the Australian government to have long-range B-1 bombers and aerial tankers regularly rotated at military bases in the Northern Territory.

In response, the Chinese foreign ministry has said such military co-operation should not target any third parties in the region.

"We are concerned at relevant reports. The Australians hope that the USA will be able to protect them, while it also increases its trade with China (see After Obama announces stronger military ties to Australia, Australia makes a trade deal with China).

Yet, the presence of US troops and other weaponry in China may be used as part of its possible future justification for taking the land of Australia. The Chinese may claim something to the effect that Australia is really a military pawn/representative of the USA and thus, since the USA owes them money, taking over Australia will help settle that debt.

Events are aligning for various curses, like Australia losing its sovereignty and land (cf. Daniel 11:39; Lamentations 4:16; Joel 3:2-3; Amos 7:17; Ezekiel 5:1-2,12; 6:8; Ezekiel 22:13-15). And the Chinese threats in Global Times are proof of that.

Although I personally was unaware of it until July 14, 2016, in February 1963, the old Radio Church of God earlier warned of a threat from Asia in general, and China in particular, to Australia:

Well, Britain did enter the old Common Market and as the 1963 article indicated, Australia has become more and more dependent upon Asian markets. Furthermore, as the 1963 article suggested, Australia is becoming vulnerable for captivity from China.

Anyway, I expect problems in Australia and its eventual loss of sovereignty. I also expect New Zealand to lose its sovereignty. Though it is likely that the USA and UK will lose theirs first (Canada too, will lose its sovereignty).

In another Anzac Day message, the top official at Australia’s powerful Home Affairs department, Mike Pezzullo, told his staff “free nations” were hearing the “drums of war” beating again. …

Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced $580 million in military upgrades. One week on, several newspapers published a confidential briefing by Australia’s Maj. Gen. Adam Findlay to special forces soldiers, in which he said conflict with China was a “high likelihood.” The idea of Australia fighting a war against China on its own is ridiculous.

Last year, Australia’s military spending was about $27 billion, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. China’s was estimated to be 10 times higher, for the same period, at about $252 billion, the second highest in the world.

Top Australian General’s Leaked Classified Briefing Says War With China A “High Likelihood”

The leaked content of a fiery anti-China speech and secretive briefing to elite military personnel by one of Australia’s top generals has landed on the front pages of major newspapers from Sydney to Melbourne to London on Tuesday. The confidential address issued by Major-General Adam Findlay, who was then commander of Australia’s special forces and currently advises the Australian Defense Force, had focused on a coming war with China which he said is a “high likelihood”. Publication of the speech’s full key controversial contents is now threatening to plunge China-Australia relations past breaking point.

The April 2020 briefing given to the country’s most elite special forces units was obtained and first published by The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, and quickly spread to the front page of London’s The Times. The general’s words were leaked by anonymous sources. He had detailed that China is now engaged in “grey zone” covert operations against Australian and Western allied interests and that Aussie defense forces must prepare for the “high likelihood” of this turning into direct war.

Major-General Findlay was heard in the leaked briefing saying:

“Who do you reckon the main (regional) threat is?” General Findlay asked his troops and officers before answering: “China.” …

In words sure to add more fuel to the fire of Chinese officials’ outrage, Findlay was further described as saying China knew “Western democracies have peace, and then, when they cross a line, we get really angry.”

“Then we start bombing people. China said, let’s be smarter. Let’s just play below the threshold, before it goes to war,” The Sydney Morning Herald quoted him as saying. …

just the day before the leaked contents were exposed Tuesday, Senator Jim Molan wrote in an op-ed in The Australian newspaper that he believes a war is “likely”…

It wouldn’t start as a direct war between Australia and China, but would more likely be a war that Australia could find itself fighting on behalf of its most powerful ally, Senator Molan said.

“Many ordinary Australians, not just those who have personally experienced global conflict, are awakening to the sombre reality that war is not just possible in our region, but likely,” he wrote.

“Armed to the teeth, adversaries are maneuvering ships and planes around each other, intimidating and threatening, loaded with real weapons of war, forging alliances.”

He said Australia would be making a mistake if leaders do not act now to strengthen a military that is not capable of winning a war against “a peer opponent”.

President Joe Biden announced Wednesday that the United States is forming a new Indo-Pacific security alliance with Britain and Australia that will allow for greater sharing of defense capabilities — including helping equip Australia with nuclear-powered submarines. It’s a move that could deepen a growing chasm in U.S.-China relations.

Biden made the announcement alongside British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, who joined him by video to unveil the new alliance, which will be called AUKUS (pronounced AWK-us). The three announced they would quickly turn their attention to developing nuclear-powered submarines for Australia.

“We all recognize the imperative of ensuring peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific over the long term,” said Biden, who said the new alliance reflects a broader trend of key European partners playing a role in the Indo-Pacific. “We need to be able to address both the current strategic environment in the region and how it may evolve.”

Top French officials made clear they were unhappy with the deal, which undercuts the DCNS deal.

“The American choice to exclude a European ally and partner such as France from a structuring partnership with Australia, at a time when we are facing unprecedented challenges in the Indo-Pacific region, whether in terms of our values or in terms of respect for multilateralism based on the rule of law, shows a lack of coherence that France can only note and regret,” French foreign minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and defense minister Florence Parly said in a joint statement.

Australia has signed a new security partnership with the United States and Britain to share defense technologies in what analyst say is an effort to counter the potential threat from China.

British officials have stressed that the pact was not a response to one country, but analysts believe it is an unmistakable sign of concern about China’s military ambitions in the Indo-Pacific region. They have said it has highlighted the strategic importance of the region to both the United States and Britain.

The new pact was announced Wednesday during a virtual joint statement President Joe Biden made along with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

President Biden praised the partnership. ...

Analysts said the deal was significant because it allows Australia to build nuclear-powered submarines for the first time. The government in Canberra has insisted the submarines would not carry nuclear weapons.

The alliance — known by its acronym, “AUKUS” — will also cover artificial intelligence, quantum technologies and cyber defenses. Johnson said the three nations were “natural allies.” Morrison said the pact would boost regional security. ...

However, Australia’s news reports suggest the scrapping of a multi-billion-dollar submarine defense deal with France will cause immense diplomatic tensions between the two nations. The deal, the Australian government says, will be scrapped because of Australia’s plans to build nuclear-powered submarines under the AUKUS security pact with the United States and Britain.

For decades, Australia has sought security with defense and intelligence pacts.

The “ANZUS,” another security treaty between the U.S., Australia and New Zealand, recently celebrated its 70th anniversary. Australia is also an active member of the Five Eyes alliance, which includes the U.S., Britain, Canada and New Zealand. The Five Eyes alliance was created to monitor the Soviet Union after the Second World War.

The prophetic reality is that time will come when the USA is defeated militarily (cf. Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses) and Australia will be considered fairly “easy pickens” to use an American expression.

Consider also the following:

Japan is a major bilateral and regional partner of New Zealand and one of New Zealand’s anchor trading relationships. Japan is New Zealand’s fourth largest trading partner (after Australia the United States and China) http://www.nzibf.co.nz/index.asp?pageID=2145856139

New Zealand has ties to Japan and China. And has been more hesitant than the USA, Australia, Canada, and the UK to criticize China (see (e.g. ‘Five Eyes: Is the alliance in trouble over China?’ as New Zealand does not endorse condemnation of China over Uyghur treatment).

Some in New Zealand seem to hope that being somewhat neutral with weaker ties to the USA than Australia will save them--that will prove to be an error.

Scripturally, Asians seem to be involved with the dividing up and selling of people in the future (Ezekiel 27:12-14). Since Australia and New Zealand are the closest of the Anglo-Saxon descended nations to Asia, they seem to be possible candidates to be taken over by the Asians.

Furthermore, notice the following Catholic prophecy:

American Catholic Prophecy (c. early 20th century): The yellow hordes of the Rising Sun and the middle kingdom will pour out their wrath on the people of the island kingdom which had gathered riches through trade (Dupont, Catholic Prophecy: The Coming Chastisement. Australia and New Zealand are island nations that have gained riches through trade. Since the USA owes Japan (the "land of the rising sun") and China (the "middle kingdom") massive amounts of money, it may be since Australia and New Zealand will be allies of the USA and UK, that Europe will give Australia over to China (and/or others in Asia) and New Zealand over to Japan (and/or others in Asia) to help satisfy the USA/UK debt. Both China and Japan have longed for more land and the proximity of the island nations of Australia and New Zealand to the Asian powers seems to make this a likely scenario. The fact that Australia has about 78% as much land as China and New Zealand about 71% of the land of Japan make them interesting candidates for takeover.

Interestingly, Australians have been wondering about problems with China:

“ALMOST half of Australians believe that China will become a military threat to Australia within 20 years,” according to a recent Lowy Institute poll. While most Australians appreciate the economic benefits of a relationship with China, most believe that their government has allowed too much Chinese investment in Australia. A majority also feel China’s goal is to dominate the Asian region. The survey revealed that Australians “were positive about China's economic growth but fearful of its military aims” (The Courier-Mail, May 31, 2010).

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, “China has detonated an economic bombshell on the eve of the Prime Minister’s drive to sell the carbon tax, warning Australia has a ‘dual-speed and patchwork economy’ and relies too heavily on Beijing’s demand for minerals.” (July 7, 2011, p.2).

The Australians themselves have had various concerns about China. In late 2011, the Australians made a deal to allow the USA to station "permanent troops" in their country (see Obama Putting ‘Permanent’ Troops in Australia Because of China, But…). The presence of US troops in China may also be used as part of China's possible future justification for taking the land of Australia. The Chinese may claim something to the effect that Australia is really a military pawn/representative of the USA and thus, since the USA owes them money, taking over Australia will help settle that debt. But like the other Anglo-lands, those of Australia will experience captivity by gentile nations at the end of the age (Amos 5:3; Deuteronomy 28:41-50).

Not completely satisfied with only USA protection (which will fail), the Australians have tried to make deals with India (that will also fail; cf. Lamentations 1:1-2):

Australians are concerned about China. But its military steps will not be adequate--it would need to nationally repent.

Since it is a European-led force will take over the USA, the following development suggests that perhaps Europe may be inclined to give China something (like land) in the future as Germany and China are taking steps toward closer ties:

BEIJING -- China and Germany Wednesday pledged to strengthen bilateral military ties. The pledge came out of a meeting between Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping and visiting German Federal Minister of Defence Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg...

The Chinese government attaches great importance to relations with Germany and will, as always, deal with it from a strategic, long-term point of view, Xi said. German Chancellor Angela Merkel will embark on her seventh visit to China this weekend...Under her leadership, Germany and China have forged strong business and political ties. (http://www.dnaindia.com/world/report-angel-merkel-to-visit-china-for-the-seventh-time-on-july-6-1999813)

The other reason that one of the above is of interest is that there is a possibility that Karl-Theodor Guttenberg might become, or at least support, the final King of the North (please see the following article for more details Might German Baron Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg become the King of the North?).

Notice notice the following from a Tongan government official as to why China has invested heavily in his country:

Why is China pouring money into Tonga?

Teisina Fuko, a 69-year-old former parliament member, suspects China finds his country’s location useful.

“I think Tonga is maybe a window to the Western side,” he said. “Because it’s easy to get here and look into New Zealand, Australia.”

Even the Tongans see that China has eyes on Australia and New Zealand.

Five Eyes

Now the UK, as well as New Zealand, are part of the Five Eyes alliance with the USA–and the EU officially wants that type of information sharing from the UK.

For those unfamiliar with it, here is what Wikipedia has about the Five Eyes:

The Five Eyes, often abbreviated as FVEY, is an intelligence alliance comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. These countries are parties to the multilateral UKUSA Agreement, a treaty for joint cooperation in signals intelligence.[1][2][3]

The origins of the FVEY can be traced back to the post–World War II period, when the Atlantic Charter was issued by the Allies to lay out their goals for a post-war world. During the course of the Cold War, the ECHELON surveillance system was initially developed by the FVEY to monitor the communications of the former Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc, although it is now used to monitor billions of private communications worldwide.[4][5]

In the late 1990s, the existence of ECHELON was disclosed to the public, triggering a major debate in the European Parliament and, to a lesser extent, the United States Congress. As part of efforts in the ongoing War on Terror since 2001, the FVEY further expanded their surveillance capabilities, with much emphasis placed on monitoring the World Wide Web. The former NSA contractor Edward Snowden described the Five Eyes as a “supra-national intelligence organisation that does not answer to the known laws of its own countries”.[6] Documents leaked by Snowden in 2013 revealed that the FVEY have been spying on one another’s citizens and sharing the collected information with each other in order to circumvent restrictive domestic regulations on surveillance of citizens.[7][8][9][10]

In spite of continued controversy over its methods, the Five Eyes relationship remains one of the most comprehensive known espionage alliances in history.[11] ...

Some in the UK and elsewhere seem to believe (correctly) that the Europeans will get access to intelligence that they will use to threaten security of one or more of the Five Eyes’ members.

And that is correct.

That will happen.

And this is not actually a new concern.

The USA and UK have long been concerned about threats that the continental Europeans may pose–but they have often compromised.

Years ago, because the Snowden leaks had information about the Five Eyes that offended the Europeans, including the Germans, notice something the Financial Times reported:

Confronted with European fury at US spying, Washington is divided over whether its allies’ anger is genuine or a calculation that they can use the revelations to change the terms of intelligence sharing and targeting….

Underlying the debate over Ms Merkel are longstanding and deep tensions over intelligence sharing between the US and European nations such as Germany and France.

The US has for decades, and with few interruptions, shared intelligence with four other countries, the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, under the so-called “five eyes” agreement which includes a proviso that they do not spy on each other.

“Germany and France have long resented this special relationship in intelligence,” said Tim Naftali, of the New America Foundation. “But the question is whether [France and Germany] would be able to accept the co-ordination of their foreign policies that comes along with the agreement.”

So, now the USA IS sharing more espionage information with Germany and France.

This will not end well for the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, or New Zealand.

The reality is that the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are considered to be more trustworthy as far as the USA goes than continental Europe–but now the USA has decided to share more with others like Germany.

It is reported that China has so much influence in New Zealand, that the USA may withhold information from New Zealand:

An influential United States Congress hearing has been told “one of the major fundraisers for Jacinda Ardern’s party” is linked to the Chinese Communist Party and it showed China had penetrated New Zealand’s political networks.

As a result, US lawmakers needed to consider whether New Zealand should be kicked out of the Five Eyes intelligence alliance because of problems at its “political core”.

The bombshell testimony included claims from a former Central Intelligence Agency analyst that “anything on China that was briefed to Bill English was briefed to Mr Yang Jian”, the National MP revealed last year as having trained spies for China.

This potential ‘crack’ is a concern to the USA and presumably will be for many in New Zealand. From a physical perspective, New Zealand cannot defend itself if Asian nations like China want to take it over, hence New Zealand (and Australia) have tended to rely on the USA (though that alliance will ultimately NOT save New Zealand).

Well, New Zealand is influenced by China, but it still seems to be in the Five Eyes alliance. Presumably New Zealand took some steps--steps that the Chinese probably did not like.

When Will Destruction Come?

Destruction will come to Australia and New Zealand during the "time of Jacob's trouble"(Jeremiah 30:7), which is also known as the "great tribulation" (Matthew 24:21).

Jesus said that if God did not intervene, all flesh would be killed. He gave some information about that in the New Testament:

11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. 15 "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened. (Matthew 24:11-22)

This will happen in the 21st century!

How do we know that?

Early Christians believed that God gave humanity 6,000 years to rule itself.

If you look at various birth and other records in the Bible, these point to the end of the 6,000 years as likely being between 2026-2032.

And since the Great Tribulation will begin 3 1/2 years before Jesus returns, the time for the coming destruction is getting very close.

Just like the blessings of wealth came when they were prophesied, the warnings about cursings will come when they are prophesied.

What about places like the Cook Islands and Australian external territories like Cocos, Coral Sea, Christmas, and Norfolk islands?

Well, they would be expected to impacted economically. Some will be impacted more than others.

But there are other issues.

Notice:

19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. 20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. (Revelation 16:19-20)

Also notice:

25 "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near." (Luke 21:25-28)

Repentance for the Nations or You?

The time for repentance of the Anglo-American nations is now as the proverbial handwriting is now on the wall (Daniel 5:26).

But what if the nations (like Hosea 11:5 indicates) will not repent?

Does this mean that you are doomed?

No. God does not require "group salvation". The Apostle Paul wrote:

...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling... (Philippians 2:12)

Thus, your personal relationship with God is not determined by what your fellow countrymen do.

Can, will, God help you during the coming tribulation?

Notice the prophecy for this latter time tribulation in the Hebrew scriptures:

29 But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. 30 When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the Lord your God and obey His voice 31 (for the Lord your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them. (Deuteronomy 4:29-31)

Thus, help from God during these hard times will be available to the truly sincere who really strive for it.

Concluding Thoughts

The Bible shows that there were prophecies given in the Book of Genesis and elsewhere related to the various tribes of Israel. These prophecies were NOT fulfilled prior to Jesus' first coming, thus since "Scripture cannot be broken" (John 10:35), they must have had a fulfillment in the last days or in days soon to come.

Those who teach otherwise are clearly ignoring the Bible and the reality of recorded history.

Understanding the identity of these peoples helps people to better understand the Bible as well as other prophecies still to be fulfilled.

The Americans, Canadians, English, Scottish, Welsh, Australians, and New Zealanders were recipients of many blessings. And unless they quickly turn back to God, they will reap what they have sown and thus also receive the many cursings (including utter destruction) that God warned His people they would receive if they turned from Him (see also the YouTube video The Debt Crisis Will Be Worse Than Most Imagine).

The end of these nations may well come prior to 2028 (see Might the U.S.A. Be Gone by 2028?).

Biblical prophecies related to Australia and New Zealand have been fulfilled and future ones will be fulfilled.

That time of destructive punishment will most likely begin in the decade next decade or so. And most simply are unaware that many "Catholic" prophecies show that this is a goal (although no Catholic that I have spoken to personally in the USA supports this--but that does not mean that this will not come to pass). Even many secular sources around the world realize that the Anglo-American dominated world order is in major decline. That will affect Australia and New Zealand.

However, just because the whole world will be temporarily deceived by the rising European Beast power, you do not have to be. Hopefully this article has given you some reasons to look at the world and your life differently to motivate you to come to God now on His terms.

May God call you today and grant you the understanding so that you will "pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man" (Luke 21:36).
