D. Winnail: Divided Nation; A. Wiggin: What an Obama Victory Really Means

In his latest update, LCG’s Dr. Douglas Winnail has the following:

America’s re-elected President will lead a divided nation that just experienced a major storm disaster in the Northeast, is struggling with the effects of an extended drought in the central plains and is staring at a “financial storm” that could inflict serious damage in the coming months. Bible prophecies that warn of the consequences of defying the laws of God are coming to pass in our nations and on the world scene…

America has just experienced another election that has revealed the divided state of the nation. Americans, and nations around the globe, are concerned about what lies ahead. Most can only guess and hope. Yet Bible prophecies reveal what the future holds. The Apostle Paul stated that the Old Testament contains important lessons and examples that were recorded “for our admonition” at the end of the age (1 Corinthians 10:1-11). A major theme that runs through the Old Testament is that God will bless nations and individuals who obey His laws, and that terrible consequences will come on people who turn away from His laws (Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28). Today, the so-called “Christian” nations of the world that have been blessed abundantly are rejecting fundamental biblical values that have been the foundation of Western Civilization, and are promoting values and behaviors that fly in the face of God’s commandments. While our modern nations will probably not repent, individuals can! We need to pray for our nations, but at the same time, we each need to make sure that we “Watch… and pray…that [we] may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:36).

In an email newsletter I received several hours ago was the following by Addison Wiggin titled What an Obama Victory Really Means:

With Obama’s win, we’ll have to endure at least three months of his team gloating.

They’ve already claimed the victory a “referendum” on the president’s progressive agenda… higher taxes, stifling regulation, nationalized health care, drone wars overseas… what’s not to like?

As it turns out… a lot.

Less than truthful politicians… seas of red tape and senseless regulations… and an increasing stranglehold on your day-to-day activities.

I would say that the votes in three states to legalize/recognize homosexual marriage, another to not move to ban it, and the re-election of Barack Obama have more than regulatory and economic ramifications.

When Barack Obama decided against defending the Defense of Marriage Act (Obama Announces He Wants to Repeal Defense of Marriage Act and Increase Debt), this tended to tip the balance towards homosexual marriage; while his re-election, combined with the other votes approving homosexual marriage, shows that the USA is going down a very destructive moral slope: one that is not good for supporters of such arrangements (cf. Romans 1:18-32) nor anyone else (Jude 7).

There is division in the USA. But, over time, those more in favor of biblical morality will continue to decrease while those in opposition to it will tend to increase. This is does not bode well for the USA.

Despite its current military strength, the Bible shows that the USA will end up divided in the future when the USA will be no more (cf. Daniel 11:39).
