Turkey’s relationship with EU ‘poisoned’

On eve of report into expanding EU membership, Turkey’s ambassador to bloc says “the fact that we are not moving on the accession process is poisoning and disturbing” http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/turkey/10380513/Turkeys-relationship-with-EU-poisoned.html

On October 16, 2013, the report the Turkish Ambassador to the European Union (Selim Yenel) referred to is to be released. The EU has 28 nations currently part of it and is considering many more.

Turkey has long been under consideration, but many in Turkey do not believe that the EU will ever allow their country in. And actually, Herman Von Rompuy, the first ‘permanent president” of the EU indicated prior to coming into office that he opposed Turkey’s membership in the EU.

The Bible shows that an alliance involving Arab, Turkish, and European nations will make a destructive deal:

3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones. 4 They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” 5 For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You: 6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagrites; 7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; 8 Assyria also has joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot. (Psalms 83:3-8)

Notice that the Bible indicates that the Turks (who are not Arabs, but seem to be Edom in scripture) will make a deal with the rising European power (Assyria above), along with the Arabs and Turkey (Psalm 83).

The Bible also shows that Turkey will, for a time, support the future King of the South:

40 “At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. (Daniel 11:40-42)

Since Turkey appears to be a supporter of the King of the South, it would seem it would not be part of the final European power, but instead cooperate with it.

But since Edom seems to escape what happens to the King of the South in Daniel 11:40-43, despite a deal with the Arabs, Turkey is apparently not a going to be a strong supporter of the final King of the South for very long. Apparently it will be for a short while: it is likely that those that escape the wrath of the King of the North (like Turkey) are among supposed allies of the King of the South who will betray the King of the South per Daniel 11:25-26.

The Turks can be quite pragmatic and will, despite current issues with the EU, ultimately provide some support to the final King of the North power.
