New Finding: Evidence Suggests that the Shroud of Turin Is Fake
An ancient burial cloth has been found that seems to provide evidence that the Shroud of Turin is not authentic:
‘Jesus-era’ burial shroud foundBBC – Dec 16, 2009A team of archaeologists and scientists says it has, for the first time, found pieces of a burial shroud from the time of Jesus in a tomb in Jerusalem.
Even if the actual burial cloth of Jesus is the “Shroud of Turin” or some other relic, it would not seem that it should be venerated by Christians as the early Christians opposed venerating such relics. Many do not seem to realize how early Christians viewed such items. Most know very little about early church history–and what many think they know is clouded by misinformation and misconceptions.
