Harry H. Moskoff: ‘There can be no prophecy without the Holy Ark playing a central role’

World Net Daily had the following about prophecy and the Ark of the Covenant:

Biblical Ark expert Harry H. Moskoff, who is the author of “The A.R.K. Report,” spoke recently at a conference hosted by Breaking Israel News. …

He pointed out that not only did the Ark store the two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments, it also was considered an “indestructible weapon of war that could fell fortified cities.”

Further, he believes, according to a stunning report in BIN, that the Ark is a channel between man and God for prophecy.

He explained, BIN reported, that makes it “directly responsible for the advent of God’s Word in this world.”

He was speaking at the “Prophecy in the News Conference” held by Breaking Israel News, and said, “There can be no prophecy without the Holy Ark playing a central role, and there is an intrinsic connection which cannot be denied.”

He said among the multiple functions for the Ark was to “act as a channel, a type of matrix, between God and man,” the report said. …

He continued, in Breaking Israel News, “In fact, all prophetic inspiration actually runs via and between the two Cherubim (angelic figures) that are on top of the cover of the Ark, just like when Moses originally stood at the entrance of the Tabernacle to receive prophecy that issued forth from the Ark.”

He said God’s word comes down to the Temple’s Holy of Holies between the Cherubim, and then to those receiving it, Moses or another prophet. …

“There are many levels of prophecy and Divine inspiration. ‘Because, today, there seems to be an increase of claims from people who appear to have prophetic abilities, this may be a sign that prophecy will indeed return to the world,’ suggested Moskoff. ‘This will ultimately be confirmed with the arrival of Elijah the Prophet, whose mission is to announce the coming of the Messiah, restore peace between father and son as well as between tribe and tribe, and also to bring back the missing Temple vessels, including the Ark itself.’” 06/27/17 http://www.wnd.com/2017/06/all-prophecy-links-to-ark-of-covenant-says-ark-expert/

There are many inaccuracies in the above.

While it is true that the Ark of the Covenant had the stone tablets for the Ten Commandments (1 Kings 8:9), the Bible does NOT teach that there is no prophecy without the Ark playing a central role. Nor does it teach that prophecy comes through the Ark. The New Testament states:

21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:21)

It is wrong for Harry H. Moskoff to try to insist that prophecy is always tied to the Ark.

He is also wrong that the mission of the Elijah to come is to “bring back the missing Temple vessels, including the Ark itself.”

There is nothing in the Bible that support his view there.

But, perhaps I should add that certain Catholic prophecies indicate that the two witnesses (which they often consider will be Enoch and Elijah) will rise up after the Ark is found:

Bl. Dionysus of Luetzenberg…prophecies:

“After the discovery of the Ark of the Covenant, Enoch and Elias will restore the Holy Sacrament of the Altar; Because of the fact that the Ark of the Covenant will be in the possession of the two holy prophets and not in Antichrist’s hands, the Jews will recognize that Jesus is the true Messias…”

Notice that the Catholics want to place their practices on it (by Holy Sacrament, they seem to mean their Eucharistic practices; here is an article about their origins: Marcus, the Marcosians, & Mithraism: Developers of the Eucharist?).

Additionally, notice also the following Islamic view of the Ark:

The Book of Revelation says the Ark is in the temple of God in heaven (Rev. 11:19). Muslim scholars say it will be found near the end of times by the Mahdi – a messianic figure in Islam. http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=102119

It is interesting, however, that many of the Muslims believe that their Mahdi will rise up after the finding of the Ark (the Mahdi of Islamic prophecy seems to be the same one that the Bible indicates will be the final King of the South). Events seem to be happening in the Arab nations that align with the rising up of such a leader. Perhaps, if the Ark is publicly shown, he could point to it as proof that his timing for rising up was prophesied. We will see.

Now, it may be possible that the Ark of the Covenant will be seen before Jesus returns, but the Bible does not say that the ‘Elijah’ will bring it back, though perhaps he could be involved.

The Bible is clear that the Ark of the Covenant will be in heaven:

19 Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail. (Revelation 11:19)

And it probably is there now.

But since both Islamic and Catholic prophecies suggest that it will be found, it is possible that some of them will point to the Ark in Ethiopia (some believe Ethiopia has the original Ark, while others believe that it has an early copy) or one in Jerusalem (or elsewhere) as proof that their prophecies are to be fulfilled. Or Catholics may claim that if the Ark of the Covenant has not been found, that this is additional proof that the real two witnesses are not God’s two witnesses.

I presume that if the Ark ever publicly is shown (the one in Ethiopia was supposed to be publicly shown a few times, but has not been), some may wish to more thoroughly examine it.

There is a chance that we will see the Ark or a strong claim that someone has located the Ark within the next decade or so.

But, the Ark of the Covenant is NOT the key to all prophecy.
