MOSCOW — Russia warned Friday that if the U.S. followed through with threats to impose further harsh economic sanctions it would be seen as a “declaration of economic war.” The warning by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev came after Washington unveiled a raft of new sanctions against Russia over its alleged use of the Novichok nerve agent against a former double agent which Britain has blamed on Moscow. …
“While I don’t want to comment on the talk about future sanctions, I can say that if we end up with something like a ban on banking activities or the use of certain currencies, we can clearly call this a declaration of economic war,” Medvedev was quoted as saying by the Interfax news agency. …
“And we must absolutely respond to this war. By economic means, by political means and if necessary by other means,” he added.

Russia does not like to be pressured and intends to work around sanctions.

North Korea said in a statement Thursday that “some high-level officials within the U.S. administration” were making “desperate attempts at intensifying the international sanctions and pressure.”
“We hoped that these goodwill measures would contribute to breaking down the high barrier of mistrust” between Pyongyang and Washington, the North’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said. “However, the U.S. responded to our expectation by inciting international sanctions and pressure.” …
Washington has said that sanctions will not be lifted until Pyongyang fully and finally dismantles its nuclear weapons. Some experts say that North Korea does not want to denuclearize first or maybe denuclearize at all because it wants a long, drawn-out process that sees external aid shipped in in return for abandoning nuclear weapons. http://time.com/5363637/north-korea-sanctions-pressure-trump/
The Europeans, Venezuelans, and Iranians are also upset about USA sanctions as well as trade policies. Europe is looking for ways around the Iranian sanctions (see USA reimposing sanctions against Iran, while EU resists and ‘European Powers Prepare To Ditch Dollar In Trade With Iran’).
US President Donald Trump sent out the following tweet today, which has greatly upset Turkey:

President Donald Trump said in July that the U.S. would place “large sanctions” on the country for the pastor’s detention. On Friday, Trump appeared to back that position up by posting on Twitter that he would double the level of tariffs on steel and aluminum to 20 percent and 50 percent respectively. …
Erdogan said he would stand up to pressure from the United States.
“There are various campaigns being carried out. Don’t heed them,” Erdogan said Thursday. “Don’t forget, if they have their dollars, we have our people, our God. We are working hard. Look at what we were 16 years ago and look at us now,” Erdogan told supporters.
On Friday afternoon Erdogan dug in again, calling for citizens to convert out of dollars and gold and buy the lira to help fight a “national struggle”. In response, the currency renewed its sell-off. There are only two ways that the diplomatic rift between the U.S. and Turkey can end: a compromise that salvages the relationship as best possible, or a complete rupture with devastating consequences both for Turkey’s economy and America’s regional strategic interests. Either way, there is no going back to the way things were.
The arrest in Turkey of American pastor Andrew Brunson nearly two years ago has led to a diplomatic spat that threatens a full-blown economic meltdown in Turkey. Brunson, along with many foreign nationals that were detained in the wake of the failed 2016 coup attempt, has been accused of “supporting terrorism.” A deal for Brunson’s release seemed likely as Turkish officials traveled to Washington this week, but fell apart apparently over last-minute Turkish demands.
Meanwhile, tensions have ratcheted up. The Trump administration has imposed sanctions on Turkey’s interior and justice ministers. Erdogan threatened retaliation and got the support of most of the Turkish opposition. On Wednesday, Stars and Stripes reported that a group of pro-government lawyers in Turkey have filed charges against several U.S. officers at the Incirlik Air Base, accusing them too of ties to terrorist groups. They are demanding all flights leaving the base be temporarily suspended and a search warrant be executed. …
Trump’s abandonment of the Iran nuclear deal is another sore point; nearly half of Turkey’s oil imports come from Iran, and the re-imposition of sanctions against Iran hurts Turkey’s economy.
The Brunson case made all of that impossible to ignore, as U.S. evangelicals took up the cause. … The U.S. will have to settle for something less loyal, less an alliance and more a transactional relationship. The USA move towards a “transactional relationship” with many nations has gotten them to decide that they want to take steps to make themselves less affected by the USA.
They are pushing the Gentile nations to come up with something that the USA will not like.

Food, rents and fuel prices in Turkey have all surged. …

That defiance echoes the world view of Turkey’s president, who has overseen rapid growth during his 15 years in power. USA sanctions and tariffs are upsetting many nations around the world.

Psalm 83:4-8 states:
4 They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” 5 For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You: 6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagrites; 7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; 8 Assyria also has joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot.
Note that this passage of scripture is suggesting that the descendants of Israel (which not only includes the modern state of Israel, but also much of the English-speaking world, cf. Genesis 48:13-16–see a discussion of this in Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel) will be bothered by a confederation of basically Arabic/Islamic/Turkish peoples from the Middle East (not Ethiopians), who will also somewhat align with a European power (see Germany’s Assyrian Roots Throughout History and Germany in Biblical and Catholic Prophecy).
The reference to Edom is a reference to those in modern Turkey (for details, check out Turkey in Prophecy). Turkey will one day support the European Beast power against the USA.

BERLIN (Reuters) – U.S. tariffs and sanctions policies are likely to keep investors on their toes in the coming week as European politicians and policymakers continue their summer break, while economic data from Germany and the euro zone will also be in focus.
Washington’s latest sanctions on Russia have battered the rouble, and Turkey’s lira has been hammered by concern that Ankara is sliding into a full-blown economic crisis.

US sanctions and tariffs are upsetting Russia (the geographically biggest nation), China (the most populous nation), the European Union (the largest economic block), and other nations around the world.
While the USA may seem to be ‘winning’ in aspects of this for now, that will change.
The world is getting more and more upset with USA policies. Europe will make deals with Russia and China and others.
