Venezuela now accepting oil payments in Euros and not US dollars; Japan, Russia, and China reduce dollar holdings
Venezuela is now accepting Euros, but not US dollars for payments for its oil:

Venezuela has just taken the next step in its quest to “free” itself from the tyranny of US dollar hegemony. One year after the country said it would stop accepting US dollars as payment for its (ever shrinking) oil exports (saying the country’s state-run oil company would accept payment in yuan instead), Venezuelan Vice President for Economy Tareck El Aissami said Tuesday that Venezuela will officially purge the dollar from its exchange market in favor of euros. …
To help seed the Venezuelan financial system with euros, the country’s cash-strapped central bank is planning to auction 2 billion euros some time between November and December.
The American “financial blockade” of Venezuela affects both the country’s public and private sectors, including pharmacy and agriculture, and shows “just how far the imperialism can go in its madness,” the vice president said.
Venezuela’s floating exchange rate system, Dicom, “will be operating in euro, yuan or any other convertible currency and will allow the foreign exchange market to use any other convertible currency,” El Aissami said.
The vice president added that all private banks in Venezuela are obliged to participate in the Dicom bidding system.
Even if it’s insignificant relative to Russia and China’s plans to create an alternative global financial system based on rubles and the yuan, this move is one more blow against US dollar hegemony, and one more step into the open arms of China, which has helped keep Maduro’s teetering regime afloat in the face of an assassination attempt and an aborted US-backed coup. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-10-16/venezuela-ditches-us-dollar-will-use-euros-international-trade
While Venezuela is currently an economic basket case, its move is another straw against US dollar dominance in the world. Iran has basically done the same thing. Plus, Syria and North Korea are trying to avoid dollars and using Euros or other currencies.
Russia and China are also working against the US dollar, as is the European Union. It is just that the Europeans are not as vocal about it.
Though that could be one of the reasons that US President Donald Trump blasted the EU in an interview with Leslie Stahl on 60 Minutes this past Sunday (see Donald Trump again calls out EU on trade and defense spending–this will not end well).

Washington’s aggressive policy against Moscow could be a sufficient reason behind the recent fall of the dollar’s share of global central-bank reserves, according to economist at US multinational investment bank Goldman Sachs.Russia’s Central Bank has sold some $85 billion of its $150 billion holding of the US assets from April through June after the US Treasury Department announced new sanctions on Russian businessmen, companies and government officials, says Goldman’s strategist Zach Pandl said, as quoted by Bloomberg. …
According to Pandl, the co-head of global FX and emerging-market strategy, the US policy of unilateral tariff hikes and sanctions is putting at risk the greenback that is still dominating the global currency reserves.
“The Central Bank of Russia likely sold a large portion of its dollar-denominated assets, and perhaps all of its US Treasuries held by US custodians, and transferred them to euro-denominated and yuan-denominated bonds in the second quarter,” the economist said.
“This would account for more than half of the decline in the share of dollar reserves during the quarter.”

So, Bloomberg believes that USA sanctions are affecting the viability of the US dollar as the world’s reserve currency.
That confirms something reported here.
