US President Donald Trump made more statements that have upset various ones in France and other parts of Europe.

Emmanuel Macron suggests building its own army to protect Europe against the U.S., China and Russia. But it was Germany in World Wars One & Two – How did that work out for France? They were starting to learn German in Paris before the U.S. came along. Pay for NATO or not!

President Donald Trump appeared to mock France’s record in World War I and II in a Tuesday morning tweet that again waved the idea of the US pulling out of, or modifying its relationship to, NATO.
French President Emmanuel Macron has long pushed for a European army separate from NATO, the global alliance that includes the US and Canada, and has sought to secure the continent against Russian aggression that has grown since the end of World War II.
Spurred by the US’s withdrawal from the Intermediate Nuclear Forces treaty, which eliminated an entire category of nuclear weapons and almost completely denuclearized the continent, Macron renewed his calls to break away from depending on US military might. …

The Europeans do not want to overly rile up Donald Trump, but more and more they feel that Donald Trump has minimized them. Plus, they are frustrated by his regular insults and put downs. They are scrambling to try to figure out what to do next.

Germany’s Angela Merkel set out her vision of a more assertive European Union, with a European army, as a flurry of provocative tweets from Donald Trump sought to stir up old divisions between western allies.
The normally understated chancellor took an uncharacteristically bold stance as she addressed EU lawmakers in Strasbourg. She’d spent the weekend commemorating the end of World War I in Paris alongside more than 60 global leaders and witnessed first hand the tensions between Trump and France’s Emmanuel Macron.
In the French capital she defended her world view against the U.S. president’s barbs as he sparred with Macron. In the EU parliament on Tuesday, she went a step further, telling deputies they need to adapt to a world in which Europe’s traditional allies may no longer guarantee the continent’s security.

The above shows that Angela Merkel is making it clear that Europe cannot rely on the USA, but must have its own genuine army.
Now, the Europeans want more than an army. They essentially want a resurrected ‘Holy Roman Empire.’ Notice that the idea of a European empire has again been flouted by a European leader:

NATO’S Secretary-General Jens Stoltenburg … said the EU and US should work on forming stronger joint security operations rather than pursuing separate agendas. Mr Stoltenburg’s comments come after a public clash of o00pinions between Mr Trump and Mr Macron following the French President’s call for a “real European army” in a broadcast interview. …
Mr Macron, however, received one high-profile support for his EU-wide army suggestion in the shape of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Mr Putin told its state funded broadcaster Russia Today: “Europe is a powerful economic entity, a powerful economic union and it is quite natural that it wants to be independent, self-sufficient and sovereign in matters of defence and security.”
And in a move that likely caused fury in Washington, the French President’s finance minister backed a return to European “empire” during a newspaper interview.
Bruno Le Maire suggested Brussels should go one further and establish itself as an “empire” when following up on Mr Macron’s EU army demands.

And although thanks to their wartime history, some Germans may find his talk of empire unattractive, Le Maire explains that, “I am using this phrase because, in tomorrow’s world, it’s going to be all about power … technological power, economic, financial, monetary, cultural power – all will be decisive. Europe cannot be shy any longer about using its power.”
Le Maire won’t go as far as to say that German politicians have been two-faced about European unity. But he did set a small deadline: “We have talked about it for a long time. Now it’s time for decisions. And there will be decisions made on December 4, at the next meeting of the economy and finance ministers. I cannot imagine anything else.”

Bruno Le Maire … “Europe should no longer shy away from using its power and being an empire of peace.”
He demanded EU countries tell Mr Trump that Europe is a “sovereign continent” and should decide who it trades with itself.
“We want a way to exchange goods and services when financial flows between Iran and Europe are no longer possible,” he said.
His comments sparked fury, with Tory MEP David Campbell Bannerman warning he doubled any EU empire “would be peaceful”.
He said: “This comment repeats exactly what former EU Commissioner Barosso admitted: the EU is a form of Empire.
“Given that we are commemorating the end of the First World War and 17 million lives lost which was started through the clash of Empires: Austro Hungarian, Russian and German, this is deeply inappropriate timing. I doubt the EU Empire would be peaceful, benign or democratic.
“Unlike the USA an EU Empire would make the world less safe. Are we now to term Remoaners the new Imperialists?”

Yes, European leaders want an empire. Action will one day happen (cf. Revelation 17:12-13). And yes, David Campbell Bannerman is correct to realize that a real European empire would NOT be peaceful.

3. Europeans are Not Pleased
Has or will Donald Trump affect Europe?
Yes.
He will do so in many ways, including several that few consider.
The Washington Post reported in late 2016 that Donald Trump admired Richard Nixon. It also reported:
Donald Trump appears to have embraced, with gusto, Richard Nixon’s “Madman Theory” of foreign policy. He thinks he can use his reputation for unpredictability and lack of respect for long-standing international norms to unnerve and then intimidate America’s adversaries into making concessions that they would not otherwise make. Donald Trump’s foreign policy statements have unsettled many—in the U.S.A. as well as foreign nations. He seems like he will more unpredictable than Richard Nixon.
There is also something referred to as the “law of unintended consequences.” There are consequences for the U.S.A., Europe, and elsewhere that have and will occur because of Donald Trump’s statements and actions.
Many Europeans Do Not Like Donald Trump

Donald Trump will not ‘make America great again.’ His rise is dangerous for many reasons, but prophetically, one of them is that his rise has shown the Europeans that the USA is moving in a direction they do not like (cf. Daniel 11:39).
Climate Change
Donald Trump’s views against the ‘climate change’ agenda have not pleased the Europeans. …
Donald Trump’s view of climate change is expected to set up some type of issue between the USA and Europe. Europe will tend to see the USA as an irresponsible polluter of the planet, while Europe will claim to be the protector that the world needs. …

Donald Trump has stated his firm opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement (TPP). …
Some believe that Donald Trump’s positions on trade will lead to a global trade war that could trigger some type of international war (Katasonov V. Only One Step Away from a Global Trade War. Strategic Culture Foundation, December 12, 2016). It is my position that trade disputes will be a factor in Europe taking military action against the U.S.A. one day.
Energy and climate policy differences between the Europeans and Donald Trump may increase the negative view many in Europe already have about the USA. …
German Concerns About USA and Donald Trump
Some consider that Donald Trump’s rise is a sign that the USA is in decline. …
Germans and others see the USA declining. Europe will go in a direction that USA leaders, including its ‘foreign policy experts,’ do not comprehend (Daniel 11:39; Isaiah 10:5-11).
When my wife and I were in Europe in late 2016, many of the Europeans we spoke to were essentially of the view that the USA is supposed to be the leader of the West, so how could it possibly elect Donald Trump? We were told this by Europeans from countries like Switzerland, Spain, and the Netherlands. European disdain for Donald Trump and how they perceive his leading of the USA is real. …
There Will be Consequences
Donald Trump indicated that Europe needs to pay for more of its defense or the USA should not have to pay for it (Collinson S. 5 candidates make closing arguments on CNN ahead of Western Tuesday. CNN, March 20, 2016).
Many in the USA do not seem to realize that once Europeans are spending more for their militaries, that they will also expect to have more independence from the USA as to how military might will be used. …
Donald Trump has made statements that will help lead to the rise of a European Empire as well as an Islamic confederation. These are to be led by leaders that the Bible refers to as the King of the North and the King of the South respectively.
The rise of Donald Trump should show 21st century people that the King of the North will be able rise up in Europe.
… prophecies indicate that the “Great Monarch/King of the North“ will get a “great army” (Daniel 11:25; that might increase after the USA is attacked), lead a force that will destroy the United States (Daniel 11:39), and will apparently be assisted by the King of the South (Psalm 83:3-8; Daniel 11:27). I warned about “unintended consequences” in that book about Europe and we are starting to see this happening. The distancing of Europe from the USA is encouraging them to build their military–they now have a framework called PESCO, which they agreed to last December barely a year after Donald Trump’s election (watch PESCO and a Great European Army). Europeans are concluding that they cannot rely on the USA anymore. And this means in matters of not only trade, but defense.

Donald Trump has been pushing Europe to increase military spending–now he is pushing for even more. His hints about impacting US NATO support will not endear him with the Europeans.
Europe will increase military spending. However, that will play into Europe’s empire and military plans. Few in the USA seem to realize that when Europe gets enough power, the USA will lose all of its. And Donald Trump has been accelerating that!
Despite real unity problems (cf. Daniel 2:41-43), Europe will reorganize:
12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)
These ten kings have no kingdom, but are to attain one. Thus, this is a type of reorganization in verse 12. What emerges will be the militaristic BEAST empire that the Bible warns against.
Notice what other passages in Revelation and Daniel reveal:
1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. 2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:1-4)
2 Daniel spoke, saying, “I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the Great Sea. 3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, each different from the other. 4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. 5 “And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: ‘Arise, devour much flesh!’ 6 “After this I looked, and there was another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it. 7 “After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. (Daniel 7:2-7)
The final version of the above beast has ten horns (Daniel 7:7) as does the Beast power of Revelation 17:12. This is the Beast of the Sea.
Which sea?
According to the Bible, the “Great Sea” that bordered the ancient lands of Israel (Joshua 9:1; 23:4; Ezekiel 47:13-16) was the Mediterranean Sea–and that is the sea that Daniel was referring to.
What will rise up will be a European empire.
The late Pastor General of the old Radio/Worldwide Church of God, Herbert W. Armstrong, repeatedly warned since 1934 that there would be a coming European Beast empire:

PESCO and a Great European Army
In November 2018, French President Macron called for a “true European army” because of China, Russia, and the USA. Some others in Europe have echoed that sentiment. On November 9, 2018, US President Donald Trump called that an insult, but the next day said that the USA wanted “a very strong Europe.” Emmanuel Macron referred to Donald Trump as “my friend” and indicated a desire to strengthen Europe’s military spending. In December 2017, 25 European nations agreed to be part of a military alliance called PESCO. Europe also has NATO and IEI. Will Europe end up with “a great army”? Has Donald Trump’s announcement to withdraw from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty gotten some to say that Europe must rebel against the USA? Is the idea of a United States of Europe and a European army a “paranoid fantasy” or a biblical reality? Will the USA regret Europe becoming a stronger military power? Will the USA be betrayed by “friends” such as its continental European allies? Does the Bible teach any or all of this? Donald Trump’s actions will be a factor in the rise of the European King of the North Beast power. The USA will one day be destroyed per Daniel 11:39 by the power that it is pushing Europe to become.
