False Prophets in 2010
“Orthodox” 16th Century Representation of the “Apocalypse”
On January 3, 2010, I made a post about various ones who I claimed would be wrong in 2010 (see False Predictions for 2010). As it turns out, all of those that I denounced at that time were wrong.
Some supposedly affiliated with a David Wilkerson claimed that “Russia’s war with the USA comes between 2005 and 2010“. And this did not come to pass.
A “Pastor Harry” (Church of Philadelphia Internet) claimed that the Great Tribulation would begin, Christians raptured, and the prophesied “Wormwood” from the heavens would strike the earth in 2010. He was wrong on all of those points.
A Catholic named Robert Conte Jr. claimed, “In the year 2010 A.D., New York City will be struck by a nuclear bomb explosion. The explosion occurs sometime between June 1st and December 31st of 2010, inclusive. This bomb will be an actual nuclear bomb, not merely ‘dirty bomb…The bomb will be sent by the group of Arab/Muslim nations formed during the year 2009, led by Iran and Iraq. This nuclear attack marks the start of World War 3.’” And while a nuclear bomb could have been exploded then, the truth is that “World War 3” could not possibly start in 2010. That simply does not line up with the events in the Bible indicates need to that precede it.
Tim Carpenter “estimated” that “-Gog/Magog War. Russia and China and their partners invade USA. Ezek. 38” in 2009 or 2010 or 2011. He also claimed that Joe Biden will become President of the United States and be the final Antichrist. I denounced him for that in January 2010 and previously for even more outlandish claims.
Throughout the year, I continued my denouncements against other false prophets such as Ronald Weinland and Harold Camping (two individuals who both previously changed their “end of the world predictions) who have current predictions of Jesus’ return (May 27, 2012 and May 21, 2011 respectively) that also will not come to pass.
A Kim Clement allegedly prophesied that Barack Obama would have a great (and positive) conversion in early 2010 (prior to Easter) (I declared this person a false prophet on November 12, 2009).
How did I know they would all be wrong? Or in the cases of Ronald Weinland and Harold Camping, how they will be wrong again?
Not because I do not believe in prophecy, but because the “prophets” relied on their own imaginations and often overlooked key scriptures. They do not fully understand either God’s plan nor His timetable. Hence, I was quite confident that I would be correct in my condemnations.
I also even denounced some others in 2010 who do not claim to have based their predictions on the Bible.
One, a Russian professor named Igor Panarin, felt that the USA could be divided up by Europe, Russia, Mexico, and Asians by the summer of 2010. While I stated he would be wrong about his timing (see Russian Professor To Be Wrong Again, But USA/UK/Canada/Australia/New Zealand Still at Risk), I mentioned that prophecy supports the idea of the USA being divided up by a foreign power.
And another was by John Hogue who felt an “oracle” had given him the ability to know what would happen in the USA’s election in November 2010 (see Another False Prophet? The Elections and Herman Hoeh). His November 1, 2010 statement, “Obama…In tomorrow’s midterm election, he will lose the House and by the slightest of margins, lose the Senate too.”, was in error.
But again, it is not that prophesy cannot be trusted, but that false prophets cannot be. David Wilkerson (at the least the one with that name that was affiliated with the website cited in January 2010), Pastor Harry, Robert Conte Jr, Tim Carpenter, Kim Clement, Ronald Weinland, Harold Camping, Igor Panarin, and John Hogue were not prophets of God.
How can you know that?
Here is one scripture that explains some about this:
21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ — 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.
(Deuteronomy 18:21-22)
And here is another:
1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. (2 Peter 2:1-3)
True prophecy, will however, come to pass:
1 Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), 2 that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, 3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, 6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. 7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. (2 Peter 3:1-10)
And all should heed the words of the prophets of God as they will come to pass. Yet, none should heed the false prophets.
To assist with this is is part of the reason why there is a governmental structure and ministry in the Living Church of God (see Ephesians 4:11-16). Which is the type of governance system that people such as Ronald Weinland the false prophet have denounced.

Concerns About Ronald Weinland’s Church of God-Preparing for the Kingdom of God Ronald Weinland falsely claims to be one of the two witnesses God is raising up and that Jesus will come on May 27, 2012. Why does the Bible show that Ron Weinland is a false prophet? He also has at least one other view that suggests that he is not part of the Church of God.
Harold Camping’s Teachings About the End of the World Do Not Agree with the Bible Harold Camping teaches that the rapture will be on May 21, 2011 and the world will end on October 21, 2011. What does the Bible show?
