As expected, former journalist and London mayor Boris Johnson was selected to be the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland by the UK’s Conservative Party:

Britain’s Conservative Party announced Tuesday that Boris Johnson has won the election to be its new leader and become the country’s next prime minister.
Johnson defeated British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt in the voting that ended Monday night by a margin of 66% to 34%.
“We are going to unite this amazing country and we are going to take it forward,” Johnson told party members after he was announced as the winner.
He pledged to deliver Britain’s exit from the European Union on October 31 and to unite and energize the country with efforts to improve education, infrastructure and police.
Johnson will officially replace Prime Minister Theresa May on Wednesday as she steps down following repeated failures to deliver Britain’s exit from the European Union.
He thanked May in his address for “extraordinary service” to the party and the country.
In Washington, U.S. President Donald Trump congratulated Johnson and said “He will be great!”
The Brexit process was meant to be concluded in late March, but while EU officials have indicated no interest in renegotiating the divorce terms that Britain’s parliament has rejected three times so far, they did agree to push the deadline to October 31.

Despite some positive statements from some leaders in the EU, Boris Johnson is not liked by the EU and many in Europe.

Gaffe-prone
His ascent to power was marked with regular controversies and gaffes, starting with his job as a trainee reporter at The Times newspaper, where he was dismissed for concocting a quote from his own godfather.
In 2004, by then an MP, the Oxford graduate was sacked from his roles as shadow arts minister and Conservative Party vice-chairman for lying about an extramarital affair.
His London mayorship was epitomized by a £53.5 million (€59.5 million, $66.5 million) waste of taxpayer money on a failed vanity project, meant to be a garden-covered pedestrian bridge over the River Thames.
In 2016, the bombastic became a central figure in the Brexit campaign. His last-minute decision to support Leave came as a shock and a serious blow to former Prime Minister David Cameron.
During his tenure as foreign secretary from 2016 to 2018, one his more memorable blunders was mistakenly saying that British-Iranian citizen Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was training journalists in Iran; Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s family and the British government insist she was in fact visiting relatives. The former foreign secretary has pledged the UK will leave the EU on 31 October, “do or die”, accepting that a no-deal Brexit will happen if an agreement cannot be reached by then.
He has called the withdrawal agreement “dead” but says he will “take the bits that are serviceable and get them done” – such as guaranteeing the rights of 3.2 million EU citizens in the UK.
“Solve the problems of the Irish border where they properly belong, in the context of the free trade agreement, that we will do after we come out on 31 October.
After Brexit, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland could be in different customs and regulatory regimes, which might mean products being checked at the border. To avoid border posts (which some believe could threaten the peace process), Mrs May and the EU agreed on the backstop. In the event that no free trade deal was agreed that avoided a hard border, this insurance policy would effectively keep the UK and EU in a customs union. This proved controversial because it would stop the UK doing some of its own trade deals.
Mr Johnson is saying the Irish border can be dealt with after the UK leaves the EU, instead of as part of the withdrawal agreement.
Obstacle: The EU has said the Irish backstop cannot be removed from the withdrawal agreement – the deal to delay the UK’s exit until the end of October specifically prohibited its renegotiation. If the UK leaves with no deal and seeks a free trade agreement, the EU has said it will not begin negotiations until the issue of the Irish border is settled. …
While accepting that a “disruptive… badly handled” no-deal Brexit would be costly, Mr Johnson said it was “vanishingly inexpensive if you prepare” and added that “much of this work has been done”.

Will Boris Johnson Really Leave the EU?
Boris Johnson’s pitch throughout the Conservative leadership election has been that October 31st is a hard deadline for Brexit. Having already seen two deadlines come and go, the former Foreign Secretary declared delivering on this third date will be “do or die”.
The public doesn’t buy it, however.

The EU has said it would not change the agreement that Theresa May negotiated. We will see.
The UK Parliament, on the other hand, has voted against a “no deal’ Brexit.
Some have claimed that Queen Elizabeth II will need to get involved.
No matter how it looks now, the UK will ultimately not remain an equal member of the EU.

Well, despite Boris Johnson’s intentions, Belfast (which is part of Northern Ireland) will NOT remain UK territory. The UK will likely lose it and even its own sovereignty within the next decade or two. We also put together a video on that:

Yes, the UK will one day lose Northern Ireland.
No politician of the world, including Boris Johnson, Donald Trump, or any prominent politicians who oppose them, has the answer to the problems in this world.
Without national repentance, the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are doomed.
The Anglo-nations need national repentance. If so, God would listen:
13 When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. (2 Chronicles 7:13-15)
Notice that lack of repentance is listed as a reason that the King of Assyria (the final King of the North) will become Ephraim’s king:
3 I taught Ephraim to walk … 5 … But the Assyrian shall be his king, Because they refused to repent. 6 And the sword shall slash in his cities, Devour his districts, And consume them, Because of their own counsels. 7 My people are bent on backsliding from Me. Though they call to the Most High, None at all exalt Him. (Hosea 11:3a, 5b-7)
Ephraim is the progenitor of the British-descended peoples. The Bible prophesies that these people will be taken over and their cities devoured because they want to do things their way and not God’s way.
Without repentance, increased pride is occurring, and this will be followed by the prophesied destruction of the Anglo-nations. And yes, other nations have their sins, but they will be punished later–But you personally can and SHOULD repent.
Individually, and nationally, repentance is needed:
20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.
21 “But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 22 None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live. 23 Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live? (Ezekiel 18:20-23)
30 “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways,” says the Lord God. “Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin. 31 Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel? 32 For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!” (Ezekiel 18:30-32)
Your Bible says many people have made an OUTWARD show of returning to Him or repenting, but they haven’t done it WITH THEIR HEARTS! Ephraim’s repentance, and for that matter, that of the rest of the world, is the outward, superficial, WORLDLY REPENTANCE with no real sincerity or DEEP feeling.
The following points to the end of the UK:
3 The fortress also will cease from Ephraim, … 4 “In that day it shall come to pass That the glory of Jacob will wane, And the fatness of his flesh grow lean. (Isaiah 3a,4)
The UK will one day be taken over by the coming European Beast power (called a “king” below):
23 “And in the latter time of their kingdom, When the transgressors have reached their fullness, A king shall arise, Having fierce features, Who understands sinister schemes. 24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; He shall destroy fearfully, And shall prosper and thrive; He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people. 25 “Through his cunning He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule; And he shall exalt himself in his heart. He shall destroy many in their prosperity. (Daniel 8:23-25a)
The UK will be among the many destroyed in “their prosperity.”
Boris Johnson will not be able to stop that, no matter if he does or does not make much of a deal with the EU.
He and the UK need repentance and all need the Kingdom of God.
