Xi Jinping’s Quotes Replace the Ten Commandments in Churches
Implementing its ultimate goal of becoming the sole deity revered in China, the CCP continues to smother the Christian doctrine, replaces it with the party line.
by Tang Feng
The Ten Commandments are the basis of Christian moral code, an essential part of believers’ life throughout the world. But in atheist China, they have become an eyesore for the country’s dictator, and are eliminated from places of worship.
Even though a state-run Three-Self church in a county of Luoyang city in the central province of Henan has replaced the Ten Commandments with President Xi Jinping’s quotes after repeated demands, it didn’t escape reprimands from the government. “The Party must be obeyed in every respect. You have to do whatever the Party tells you to do. If you contradict, your church will be shut down immediately,” United Front Work Department officials lectured the congregation at the end of June.
According to a believer who asked to remain anonymous, against the will of believers, the Ten Commandments have been removed from nearly every Three-Self church and meeting venue in the county and replaced with quotations from Xi Jinping. … The believer also revealed that some Three-Self churches had been shut down for not implementing the government’s demand to replace the Ten Commandments with the president’s quotes. … Forced removals of the Ten Commandments from churches at the hands of the CCP are a frequent occurrence in Henan, and Bitter Winter has reported extensively on this issue. 09/14/19 https://bitterwinter.org/xi-jinpings-quotes-replace-the-ten-commandments/
Here is a listing of the Ten Commandments from the Book of Deuteronomy:
- 7 ‘You shall have no other gods before Me.
- 8 ‘You shall not make for yourself a carved image — any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 9 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 10 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
- 11 ‘You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
- 12 ‘Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. 13 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 14 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. 15 And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
- 16 ‘Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
- 17 ‘You shall not murder.
- 18 ‘You shall not commit adultery.
- 19 ‘You shall not steal.
- 20 ‘You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
- 21 ‘You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife; and you shall not desire your neighbor’s house, his field, his male servant, his female servant, his ox, his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.’ (Deuteronomy 5:7-21)
The way they are shown above is how early Christians considered them as verses 20 and 21 were combined making the tenth commandment (see also the free online book: The Ten Commandments: The Decalogue, Christianity, and the Beast ).
In the 21st century, even in the West, the Ten Commandments are looked down upon by the media and many in government.
The coming Beast power will oppose them (watch: The Ten Commandments and the Beast of Revelation).
And it is not just the secular world that opposes them.
For example, Protestant mega-pastor Andy Stanley opposes them as well. He also opposes referring to prophecies of Jesus in the Old Testament. Andy Stanley is the subject of the following video:
Andy Stanley opposes prophesies of Jesus?
Did mega-Protestant Pastor Andy Stanley really say you should not use Old Testament prophecies to support Jesus’ Messiahship? Did he also claim that there was no Bible until the fourth century? Did he also teach against the Ten Commandments? Did Jesus, Peter, Paul, Apollos, and Philip use Old Testament prophecies to prove that Jesus was the Messiah? Did it really take until the fourth century to have a Bible? Did early Christians teach the observance of the Ten Commandments? Dr. Thiel, who listened to Andy Stanley in a podcast, plus has studied the Bible and church history, answers these questions from a Christian perspective.
