China is showing off some of its military weaponry as part of its 70th anniversary celebration of the takeover by communists:

BEIJING (AP) — Military planners in Washington and elsewhere will be taking note of new missile technology displayed by China, particularly a hypersonic ballistic nuclear missile believed capable of breaching all existing anti-missile shields deployed by the U.S. and its allies.
The vehicle-mounted Dong Feng 17, or DF-17, was the standout among weapons showed off at a military parade on Tuesday marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese state. Those also include the Dong Feng 41, or DF-41, an intercontinental ballistic missile with a range of 15,000 kilometers (9,300 miles) — China’s longest-range weapon — that that could reach the United States in 30 minutes.
Also featured at the event were the JL-2 submarine-launched strategic missile believed to be standard weaponry for China’s nuclear-powered subs, as well as the CJ-100 cruise missile.
Beijing insists all are homegrown, and though China is believed to have benefited from industrial spying and imported technologies, its massive military research and development program and the size of its economy have put its weapons technology at the forefront along with Russia and the U.S.
“The overall combat ability of China’s missile force has been enhanced significantly,” said Song Zhongping, a military commentator for Hong Kong’s pro-China Phoenix TV.
The DF-17 hyper-glide vehicle can be launched from a missile and once separated can reach more than five times the speed of sound, according to analysts. That speed, and its use of multiple independently targetable reentry vehicles, a technology known as MIRV, to deliver its warheads makes it far more difficult to detect and intercept.
It also flies at a much lower altitude just prior to delivering its warhead, further frustrating attempts to detect and intercept.
Some analysts have called the missile a threat to regional stability because its speed allows far less time to determine whether to fire nuclear weapons in response.
As with the DF-17, little has been officially released about the DF-41, which was shown publicly for the first time. It was loaded aboard a formation of launch vehicles but is also transportable by train. Analysts say they believe it may be housed in silos in the country’s northeast.
The Center for Strategic & International Studies in Washington says the missile may have the world’s longest range at 15,000 kilometers (9,400 miles). Flying at 25 times the speed of sound, it might be able to reach the United States in 30 minutes and send up to 10 warheads to separate targets using MIRV technology.
China also displayed an upgrade of its mainstay missile, the Dongfeng 31, which has a range of more than 11,200 kilometers (6,990 miles) that puts most of the continental United States within reach. https://apnews.com/2406a7cb7afc4c6689ea509992abcbdc

As China showed off its military might in an elaborate parade marking the country’s 70th anniversary under Communist Party rule Tuesday, violent clashes erupted between pro-democracy demonstrators and security forces in Hong Kong in a direct challenge to the mainland’s tightening grip on the autonomous city.
Police fired tear gas and water cannons at umbrella carrying protesters, who hurled homemade gasoline bombs at the riot police and set several fires throughout the main section of the city. Video footage confirmed news reports that one protester had been shot in the chest by police firing live rounds, the first injury of its kind since the demonstrations began in June. There was no immediate comment by police. …
Back in Beijing, a symbolic 70-gun salute kicked off a parade showcasing China’s newest military capabilities, including a new intercontinental ballistic missile analysts say can carry multiple nuclear warheads over several thousand kilometers.
Decked out in a gray suit in the style made famous by Party leader Mao Zedong, President Xi Jinping was joined by Premier Li Keqiang and other party officials as hundreds of troops marched throughout Tiananmen Square, where Mao declared the founding of the People’s Republic of China on October 1, 1949.
In a speech carried live on national television, President Xi declared that “no force” can shake the foundation of China, nor stop the progress of the Chinese people. While possible threats to the US are mentioned in the first article above, the headline used the term “others.” One of the “others” would seem to be Australia, particularly as relations with China may have deteriorated:
Labor’s shadow defence minister, Richard Marles, says Australia’s relationship with China is in a “terrible” state following Scott Morrison’s visit to the United States.
Speaking fresh from a visit to Beijing, Marles said that Morrison’s “megaphone diplomacy” alongside Donald Trump about China’s status as a developing country had inflamed tensions.
“What we saw this week was the prime minister in the United States in the context of there being trade tensions between the US and China, and from there, taking pot shots against our largest trading partner,” Marles said.
Following calls from Morrison and Trump for China’s status to be upgraded from a developing country, as defined under World Trade Organisation rules, Marles said it was a “matter of fact” that China was still rightly defined as developing. …
“What I can say is that the state of the relationship as it exists between Australia and China right now is terrible,” Marles said.
“There is a sense in which we are falling down their ladder of relevance, that China is not seeing us in the serious way in which it has seen us in the past.”
He accused the government of mismanaging the “complex” relationship, which would have ramifications for Australian jobs dependent on exports.
“That did resonate in Beijing,” Marles said. “People are unhappy about it. There is no moral equivalence between China and Nazi Germany. The Chinese paper ‘Global Times’ has carried threats in 2011 and 2016 suggesting the China would militarily intervene against Australia. It has declared that Australia is a ‘paper cat,’ that China will get revenge against it, and that Australia would be no more. Is this possible? Are there biblical and other reasons to think that this threat is real? Dr. Thiel answers these questions and brings up the fact that he has been warning about this threat since last decade.

What about China and trade?
China is willing to work with Europe related to the World Trade Organization, partially as a reaction to the US President Donald Trump’s trade statements and tariffs.
Consider, now, the Belt and Road Initiative. It connects China to Europe for increased trade. But since roads work both ways, it connects Europe to markets in Asia. And not just China.

China’s Silk Road and Babylon the Great
China has been embarking on a multi-trillion dollar project to build roads and ports to connect more of Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe to it. This has been called the ‘Belt and Road Initiative,’ Silk Road Project, Silk Road 2.0, and the One Belt, One Road Initiative. While this is expected to benefit Chinese trade (as well as provide infrastructure for the gathering at Armageddon), could this also benefit the rise of Babylon the Great foretold in the Book of Revelation and scriptures in the Old Testament? What about the proposed Polar Silk Road? Will the benefits to Europe last or will the end time ‘daughter of Babylon’ possibly face invasion from nations involved with the Silk Road project? China is working on something known as the ‘Silk Road’ project or the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. NBC reports that China intends to spend one trillion dollars to build roads, bridges, railroads, and maritime facilities to reach from China to Europe and China to the Middle East. Over 60 nations, including Russia, are involved with this. Could this Silk Road project possibly produce thoroughfares that could be used by troops that will amass at Armageddon? And while I do expect that China will take a tumble or two, many steps it has been taking are aligning with properly understood biblical prophecies.
China is paving roads that will help the European Beast gain economic influence. China is building roads that could be used to transport troops to Armageddon.
