UK NHS-Bristol wants to deny health care to those who express certain views it disagrees with

Various ones in the USA have claimed that it is un-Christian to oppose government-sponsored medical care for all. Many proponents of such plans have pointed to places like the United Kingdom as having the type of plan that they believe the USA should have. The brochure above, dated February 1948, states that the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) will provide medical, dental, and nursing care to all–to everyone, rich or poor beginning July 5, 1948.

The UK’s NHS still exists.

But now, at least, the North Bristol NHS has added some restrictions:

A National Health Service (NHS) trust in the UK has announced that it will deny treatment to patients it deems are ‘racists’ or ‘sexists’. …

The North Bristol NHS Trust said that “threatening and offensive language,” as well as “racist or sexist language, gestures or behaviour” and “malicious allegations” would all be punishable offenses.

Patients who commit such an infraction will be subject to a “sports-style disciplinary yellow card and then final red card in which treatment would be withdrawn as soon as is safe.”

“We have staff from many different backgrounds, from all over the world, and we pride ourselves on our commitment to equality which is a fundamental value of the NHS,” said Andrea Young, Chief Executive for North Bristol NHS Trust.

“We’re sending a strong signal that any racism or discrimination is completely unacceptable – we want staff to challenge and report it and we want everyone to know that it will have consequences,” she added.

The problem here of course is that the definition of what constitutes ‘racism’ or ‘sexism’ gets broader with each passing day.

As Jack Montgomery highlights, “In late 2017 an NHS patient who requested a female nurse to carry out a cervical smear complained when the hospital sent a person with “an obviously male appearance… close-cropped hair, a male facial appearance and voice, large number of tattoos and facial stubble” who insisted “My gender is not male. I’m a transsexual”.

Foster parents have also had children removed from their care by the state because they were supporters of UKIP and not vehement supporters of “multiculturalism.” …

This is even worse than China’s social credit score, which to my knowledge doesn’t yet punish people by withdrawing medical treatment if they engage in wrongthink.

First it was deplatforming people from social media websites, then it was deplatforming people from bank accounts and mortgages. Now it’s deplatforming people from hospital treatment.

Sadly, yes, the definitions of things like being “sexist” have been construed as holding biblical views.

The absurdity of some of this fails to get the promoters of LGBTQ matters to take notice. Obviously, a biological male does not have a cervix, hence no matter how one may identify as a female, that does not change the fact.

In California, the penalty for health care workers who now do not use the pronoun that a patient wants, such as when a male wants to be called “she,” is greater than the penalty for knowingly passing the HIV (AIDS) virus.

Although you might think that if you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear from surveillance or speech restrictions, consider that many in the governments of the West consider that those not supporting homosexual marriages, etc. are extremist. If you accept that the Bible teaches that homosexuals can change (1 Corinthians 6:9-11), that is something certain so-called “fact checkers” disagree with. Let me add that I also saw someone once on a documentary that stated that people who believed in the millennium could not be trusted and should be considered as potential terrorists. The fact that we in the Continuing Church of God would be considered pacifists, does not change the fact that, since we hold to millennial and other biblical views, we can be improperly classified as extremist by government employees with various agendas. Having biblical views are becoming more problematic in the world (see ZH: Germany has killed freedom of speech and expects the rest of the EU to do the same). Canada does not want certain biblical verses to even be quoted (watch Canadian censoring of the Bible).

The Apostle Paul was inspired to write:

12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of … (Timothy 3:12-14)

Many hate biblical morality and consider those who agree with aspects of it promoters of hate.

Groups such as the Southern Poverty Law Center have listed churches as “hate groups” because they do not support “same sex marriage.”

Thus, if you combine that thinking with that of the Bristol NHS, would it not seem that a next step would be to deny medical/nursing treatment to people who attend churches?

Or perhaps those that once did?

This, bizarrely seems to be the direction that many in the West are moving towards.

By the way, the solution is NOT to be independent and bury your talent:

24 “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’

26 “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. 28 So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

29 ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ (Matthew 25:24-30)

The biblical admonition is to “gather together” (Zephaniah 2:1-3) and support the Philadelphian work (Revelation 3:7-13), which is willing to:

1 Cry aloud, spare not;
Lift up your voice like a trumpet;
Tell My people their transgression,
And the house of Jacob their sins. (Isaiah 58:1)

Those unwilling to do so to save themselves will fail (cf. Matthew 16:25; Revelation 3:14-22).

In addition, Jesus said to pray to be accounted worthy to escape what will happen (Luke 21:36) and for God’s Kingdom to come (Matthew 6:10).

As we get closer to the end, recall also what the Apostle John wrote:

20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! (Revelation 22:20)

More and more we need the Kingdom of God to come quickly.

And we are getting closer to that time!
