UK’s Raab supports COGwriter prediction related to trade and EU standards

The EU has long wanted the world to adopt its standards. Here is some information from the official website of the European Committee for Standardization (also known as the Comité Européen de Normalisation):

Although rather technical and mostly unknown to the public and media, they represent one of the most important issues for businesses. But the post-Brexit United Kingdom wishes to resist:

Britain will “not be aligning with EU rules” in any post-Brexit trade deal, the foreign secretary has said.
Dominic Raab argued agreeing to stick strongly with EU regulations would “defeat the point of Brexit”.
But Irish PM Leo Varadkar said the UK needed to commit to a level playing field to get a free trade deal. …
Reports in recent days have suggested EU chiefs want the UK to continue to follow EU rules on standards and state subsidies – while accepting the jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice in any trade disputes.
The PM is expected to say that he will accept no alignment and no jurisdiction of the European courts when talks start in March.
He is also preparing to say he would rule out relaxing rules on workers’ rights, food hygiene standards and environmental protections.

Speaking to the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show, Mr Varadkar said it was possible for the UK to have a “Canada-style agreement”. …

Long term readers should not find resistance to EU standards as a surprise. Notice a post from 2008:
In the spirit of accommodation and personal interest, many of the “standards” of the European Union will be adopted by the USA, Canada and Mexico, as well as by nearly all of the countries of the world. The Arab nations will most likely agree with many of the standards as they seem to be destined to form a brief end-time alliance with the Europeans (The Arab World In the Bible, History, and Prophecy).
However, over time, it will become increasingly clear that the British will be in more agreement with the Canadians and Americans and that the European Union in more agreement with the Mexicans than the EU will have with the English-speaking nations.
Trade wars and/or serious trade disputes will most likely arise.
The Brits will ultimately decide that they are more supportive of the Americans and Canadians. They will be so much more supportive that they will end up in a trading agreement with them (with the Australians and New Zealanders probably also becoming part of that agreement).
The EU will decide that Mexico and the rest of Latin America are in more agreement with it and thus make some type of serious trading agreement with most (or all) of Latin America. The Vatican will also have influence here as Latin America is highly Roman Catholic.

As far as Europe and Mexico go, they made a trade deal. As far as most of Latin America that happened (see EU’s Juncker essentially verified accuracy of 2008 COGwriter prediction on trade). And while the USA and Canada have adopted many EU standards, the British are stating that they do not wish to agree with all EU standards.

Despite resistance from the UK (and the USA), Europe is in the process of rising up as the prophesied Babylon to dominate trade.

While ‘Babylon’ will not fully reign in 2020, with the USA pulling out of trade deals and/or wishing to change them, steps are occurring that are pushing Europe to dominate trade.
