Iran: A massive explosion in an underground missile factory that rocked Tehran and sent an enormous fireball into the sky was almost certainly caused by sabotage, a leading security analyst told Arab News. …

The factory, which features a secret underground tunnel system, produces and tests both ballistic and cruise missiles. New satellite imagery of the site revealed hundreds of meters of blackened, parched terrain.

“Although military and defense industry accidents do occur in Iran, the consensus appears to be a cyberstrike by Israel against Iran,” said Dr. Theodore Karasik, senior adviser at Gulf State Analytics in Washington, DC.

Iran originally indicated that what happened was an accident according to the following tweet:

Presuming that this was the result of an Israeli cyber attack, this is consistent with what has been happening between Iran and Israel the past ten years.

This year, Iran allegedly targeted six facilities in Israel’s water infrastructure last April 24-25 in an attempt to release chemicals to cause mass poisoning. That alleged cyber attack may have motivated Israel to launch a cyber attack last month to shut down Iranian ports:

Operations at the Shahid Rajaee port—one of two major shipping terminals in the coastal city of Bandar Abbas in the Strait of Hormuz—came to a sudden halt on May 9 after the port’s computer systems were hacked by an unknown source, according to the report.

Security and intelligence officials from the United States and abroad told The Post that the “highly accurate” cyber attack, which paralyzed the port for days, causing severe maritime and land traffic jams, appears to have been perpetrated by Israeli operatives. …

The Stuxnet worm, revealed in 2010 and widely assumed to be a joint Israel-U.S. creation, is believed to have caused serious damage to Iran’s nuclear program. Back in 2010, Iran’s nuclear-related computers were struck by a malicious computer software program (called STUXNET worm) that was apparently developed by Israel and/or the USA. This motivated Iran to be more engaged in cyber attacks, and some feel that was a factor in attacks o US banks back in 2012 (see Iran Believed to be Behind Cyber-Attacks Against US Banks).

These cyber attacks, presuming that is what is actually happening, are attacks of warfare.

Will the situation between Israel and Iran get even more militaristic?

Yes.

There are prophecies about peoples that look to be in Iran and Syria attacking the tiny nation of Israel in the end times:

1 The burden against the Valley of Vision.

What ails you now, that you have all gone up to the housetops, 2 You who are full of noise, A tumultuous city, a joyous city? Your slain men are not slain with the sword, Nor dead in battle. 3 All your rulers have fled together; They are captured by the archers. All who are found in you are bound together; They have fled from afar. 4 Therefore I said, “Look away from me, I will weep bitterly; Do not labor to comfort me Because of the plundering of the daughter of my people.”

5 For it is a day of trouble and treading down and perplexity By the Lord God of hosts In the Valley of Vision — Breaking down the walls And of crying to the mountain. 6 Elam bore the quiver With chariots of men and horsemen, And Kir uncovered the shield. 7 It shall come to pass that your choicest valleys Shall be full of chariots, And the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.

8 He removed the protection of Judah. You looked in that day to the armor of the House of the Forest; 9 You also saw the damage to the city of David, That it was great; And you gathered together the waters of the lower pool. 10 You numbered the houses of Jerusalem, And the houses you broke down To fortify the wall. 11 You also made a reservoir between the two walls For the water of the old pool. But you did not look to its Maker, Nor did you have respect for Him who fashioned it long ago.

12 And in that day the Lord God of hosts Called for weeping and for mourning, For baldness and for girding with sackcloth. 13 But instead, joy and gladness, Slaying oxen and killing sheep, Eating meat and drinking wine: “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!”

14 Then it was revealed in my hearing by the Lord of hosts,”Surely for this iniquity there will be no atonement for you, Even to your death,” says the Lord God of hosts. (Isaiah 22:1-14 NKJV)

Elam is a reference to at least some in Iran. The Bible tells that after Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria took over Damascus, he moved Syrians to Kir. While this does not mean that Kir must (or must only) be a reference to Syria, the fact that Syria is an ally of Iran is interesting.

In Isaiah 22: 8, “Judah” is a reference to those in the land commonly called Israel–God will allow Israel to be attacked! In Isaiah 22:9, consider that “the damage to the city of David” is a reference to at least part of Jerusalem–and notice that the damage will be great. This, in turn, would be expected to result in a massive Israeli, possibly with US involvement, attack against Iran and its allies, like Syria.

More death and destruction is prophesied to come.

We may be in the early stages of the ride of the second horseman of the Apocalypse–that is the horseman that takes peace from the earth.

Bible prophecy tells of a temporary peace deal coming to the region in the Book of Daniel. Consider that most ‘peace deals’ come after war.

In addition to damage coming to Jerusalem, Syria’s capital Damascus is prophesied to become a ruinous heap (Isaiah 17:1). Iran is also prophesied to be badly damaged (Ezekiel 32:24-25). One or more of these events look prophesied to take place with the ride of the second horseman.

Being greatly damaged does tend to motivate political leaders to accept truces and other types of peace deals. The Bible shows that a temporary one will happen in the Middle East:

26 And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate (Daniel 9:26-27).

The biblically-prophesied “prince” to confirm it will be a European leader who is later called the King of the North in Daniel 11:40.

The ‘one week’ has generally been understood by prophecy watchers to mean a seven year deal, that is broken in the middle of it (after 3 1/2 years). This break is also confirmed in the following scripture:

31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. (Daniel 11:31)

The “him” above is the European King of the North. The Israeli annexation is pushing the Palestinians further away from the USA and closer towards the Europeans. There will be European involvement in the Middle East.

The European King of the North may even move to Jerusalem to claim to enforce the peace deal (probably with troops called ‘peacekeepers’). Yet, according to Jesus, that should serve as a warning that it is time to flee:

20 But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. (Luke 21:20-21)

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. (Matthew 24:15-22)

In addition to cyber warfare, proposed Israeli moves toward annexation may be a triggering factor in the battles to come.

Destruction from cyber attacks certainly show that Israel and Iran are willing to take destructive actions.
