India Producing More Males than Females

India is the second most populous nation on earth and it is producing statistically more males than females:

India Census Reflects a Grim Reality for Girls

India’s early numbers for census 2011 released Thursday put the attention back on the India’s increasing population numbers and put a black mark on India’s growth story—the continued preference for sons over daughters…

Among children up to the age of six, the number of girls to 1,000 boys shrank to 914 girls to every 1000 boys, a drop from 927 in 2001. The census figure also records this statistic as the lowest since the country’s independence in 1947…

Female feticide, pre-sex selection techniques, attitudes towards the girl child and traditional social practices such as the heavy gifts demanded from the bride’s family by the groom’s family at the time of a wedding are some of reasons driving the increasingly skewed sex ratio. While the government has been carrying long standing campaigns against abortion and sex selection, the ever diminishing numbers of girls show that little has changed. Why is this of prophetic interest?

Because the Bible tells of a time when the kings of the east will send a 200 million man army into the Middle East:

12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. (Revelation 16:12)

13 Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind. 16 Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision: those who sat on them had breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and brimstone. 18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed–by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths (Revelation 9:13-18).

We in the Living Church of God have long felt that China and India would supply significant amounts of the troops:

China and India: More Military Cooperation...Joint military exercises between these two nations are important, given a couple of different factors. First, the combined population of these nations is about 2.5 billion—nearly 40 percent of the entire population of the earth. Second, prophetically, God tells of a time, just prior to the return of Christ, when a 200 million-man army will descend on Jerusalem from the east, and destroy an entire third of mankind (Daniel 11:44-45; Revelation 9:13-21). As we consider a joint military force of India and China, it would be very easy for these two nations to field a joint army of 200 million men. The final configuration of the armies from the east is likely yet to be established, but it is also likely that we are seeing the foundations of such a confederation being laid right now (World Ahead Weekly Update, LCG. January 2, 2008).

So what does this have to do with having substantially more male than female births?

Well, as most everyone is aware, China has had a one child policy for quite some time. The result of this policy has been to produce substantially more male than female births. India’s cultural preferences are also doing the same thing (that not quite to the same level). The fact that both nations tend to accept abortion is sad–but of course, so do many western nations.

When young males realize that there are not, and will not be, enough females in their lands, they will be even more willing to fight and go off to war elsewhere. The male birthing dominance in India and China will essentially make the willingness of many males to participate in a coming 200,000,000 man army greater. So, even birth statistics support the fulfillment, in a relatively few years, of another aspect of Bible prophecy.
