Meanwhile former Brexit Party MEP Ben Habib fears the move proves the bloc is for all intents and purposes a “superstate”. Mr Maas threw down the gauntlet earlier this week in remarks widely interpreted as aimed at Hungary, which in April blocked an EU statement criticising China’s new security law in Hong Kong.
He told a conference of Germany’s ambassadors in Berlin: “We can’t let ourselves be held hostage by the people who hobble European foreign policy with their vetoes.
“If you do that then sooner or later you are risking the cohesion of Europe.
“The veto has to go, even if that means we can be outvoted.” …
Mr Habib, who is also deeply concerned at the stated aim of, among others, France’s President Emmanuel Macron to create a European army, said: “This is where it is heading.
“When we were in the European Parliament we would vote against everything which purported to express EU foreign policy.
“Foreign policy and defence go hand in hand. They should be the preserve of member states.”
He added: “The EU now has a common currency, common monetary policy, common fiscal arrangements in many crucial areas, a central bank, central governance, an army and foreign policy. It is now a superstate.” …

Already in late July, in response to the Trump administration’s demand, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas had unambiguously declared, “the German government will not participate in the naval mission being suggested and planned by the USA.”[3] …
Under German Command
As outlined by the authors, an EU military operation in the Strait of Hormuz would, in practice, have to be “closely” coordinated with the US operation. This, of course, does not mean “being part of the US initiative” [10] – not even if there is a certain level of cooperation with the US operation. However, “which rules apply to this cooperation” must be determined “at the outset,” and “that the cooperation will be terminated if there is a military escalation by the USA.” Germany would be well-advised, the authors write, to participate in the planning of the EU’s military mission in the Persian Gulf, to demonstrate its aspiration to a global policymaking role and to safeguard its interests. Therefore, Berlin should eventually even be “in command” of the operation. In 2017, when Heiko Maas was Germany’s Justice Minister, he pushed for massive control over the Internet:
Germany has formally announced its draconian push towards censorship of social media. On March 14, Germany’s Justice Minister Heiko Maas announced the plan to formalize into law the “code of conduct”, which Germany pressed upon Facebook, Twitter and YouTube in late 2015, and which included a pledge to delete “hate speech” from their websites within 24 hours.
“This [draft law] sets out binding standards for the way operators of social networks deal with complaints and obliges them to delete criminal content,” Justice Minister Heiko Maas said in a statement announcing the planned legislation.
“Criminal” content? Statements that are deemed illegal under German law are now being conflated with statements that are merely deemed, subjectively and on the basis of entirely random complaints from social media users — who are free to abuse the code of conduct to their heart’s content — to be “hate speech”. “Hate speech” has included critiques of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s migration policies. To be in disagreement with the government’s policies is now potentially “criminal”. Social media companies, such as Facebook, are supposed to be the German government’s informers and enforcers — qualified by whom and in what way? — working at the speed of light to comply with the 24-hour rule. Rule of law, clearly, as in North Korea, Iran, Russia or any banana-republic, has no place in this system. …
It is only a small step from imposing censorship on social media companies to asking the same of email providers, or ordering postal authorities to screen letters, magazines and brochures in the event that citizens spread supposed “xenophobia” and “fake news”. There is ample precedent for such a course of action on the continent: During the Cold War, people living behind the Iron Curtain had their private letters opened by the communist authorities; those passages deemed to be out of line with the communist orthodoxy, were simply blacked out.

Well, on that last point, yes, Europe intends to be a massive totalitarian empire.

Europeans want more global influence.
The Bible shows this will happen as the European Beast will rise up:

The “Great Sea” that bordered the ancient lands of Israel (Numbers 34:6-7; Joshua 1:4; 9:1; 23:4; Ezekiel 47:13-16) is the Mediterranean Sea–and that is the sea that Daniel was referring to. Hence this is clearly a European power.

This is a warring power that will force unity.
11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:11-18).
Forced unity with totalitarian, including financial, control.
By advocating the elimination of national vetoes, this is a move towards a totalitarian superstate.
A superstate that biblical prophecy shows will conquer the USA (see also Daniel 11:39), its British-descended allies (see also Daniel 8:24-25; Isaiah 17:3), and a confederation of nations in the Middle East and North Africa (Daniel 11:40-43).
Ultimately, this will not end well for Europe (cf. Daniel 11:44-45; Isaiah 10:12-19).
But shortly after the elimination of a coming European Beast superstate, Jesus will return and establish the millennial Kingdom of God.
So, despite steps towards totalitarianism, there still is good news coming.
