An arrogant BBC News anchor lectured a privacy advocate Tuesday who argued that a rise in violent crime, particularly against women, cannot be countered by eroding freedom and further empowering the surveillance state.
Following the announcement that police in the UK are setting up a scheme to use CCTV cameras to watch women at night to make them ‘feel safer’, Madeline Stone of the privacy advocate group Big Brother Watch argued that there are already masses of surveillance cameras everywhere and they do not make people any safer or prevent crime. …
“Isn’t this really that Big Brother Watch is against all cameras watching us?” the anchor lectured.
He then declared “I mean this was a fair talking point in the 1990s, but we’ve moved on since then, people are over that now.”

Yes, more and more cameras “are everywhere” and there is less and less privacy of motion.
Financial privacy is more and more also going away.

Republicans Warn Biden’s IRS $600 Disclosure Plan Could Lead To “Surveillance State”

The proposal would give the IRS further access to anyone’s financial information, which Republicans say amounts to federal overreach and a “surveillance state.”
“How can you possibly justify to the American people that the IRS should be snooping around in their bank, retirement, or investment accounts,” said Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) said on Oct. 7 from the Senate floor.
“There’s only one explanation, and it’s simply terrifying: The Democrats want to control how you spend your money.”
“I want to be very clear what President [Joe] Biden’s proposing here is as close to policy from communist China that we’ve seen in the United States,” Scott added. …
Rep. David Kustoff (R-Tenn.) during a Sept. 30 House oversight hearing questioned U.S. Secretary of Treasury Janet Yellen about the new policy of increasing the number of IRS agents and the IRS’s ability to monitor low-level transactions.
“We have proposed both augmenting the resources of the IRS so that it can hire qualified auditors and augmenting the information flow so that the IRS gets insight opaque sources of income, and both together we believe can serve to greatly address the $7 trillion estimated tax gap that we’ll see in this country,” said Yellen.
When pressed by Kustoff about the $600 dollar disclosure policy, Yellen defended the new plan.
“I don’t believe it’s an invasion of privacy and look, the IRS gets a great deal of information that it needs in order to make sure the taxpayers comply with the tax code,” Yellen said.
Rep. Richard Neal (D-Mass.), chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, has praised the $80 billion investment in the IRS and the agency’s ability to access small bank transactions, saying Democrats want to ensure tax fairness and to make sure the wealthy do not dodge their tax obligation under the new tax plan. https://www.zerohedge.com/political/republicans-warn-bidens-irs-600-disclosure-plan-could-lead-surveillance-state
The government of the USA does a lot of surveillance with social media, bank regulations, and various forms of electronic communications. It already has access to financial records, though the above proposal makes it more ‘legal’ and is another step towards more total surveillance controls.
Sadly, this type of proposal from the Biden-Harris Administration was not unexpected.

As far as internal policy goes, Joe Biden has claimed, on many occasions, that he was the original author of the so-called Patriot Act , as he wrote a version of it in 1994. [i] The Patriot Act is a law that has resulted in increased surveillance and loss of civil liberties in the U.S.A. Furthermore, as even Joe Biden admits, “Civil libertarians were opposed to it” [ii] (it being what he introduced back in 1994). Joe Biden has a history of wanting more government controls.
Furthermore, consider that Joe Biden said those who protested his election and stormed the Capitol in January 2021 were “domestic terrorists” and that he wants another law:
“Don’t dare call them protesters,” Mr. Biden said in remarks from Wilmington, Del. “They were a riotous mob. Insurrectionists. Domestic terrorists. It’s that basic. It’s that simple.” … Mr. Biden has said he plans to make a priority of passing a law against domestic terrorism … [iii]
Such a law will lead to more surveillance, restrictions, and basically more totalitarian controls. …
Joe Biden has made statements supporting losses of privacy, increased surveillance, and favoring unlimited government control. This type of thing will be exploited by 666 of Revelation 13:16-18.

Plus, we are seeing societal changes around the world (partially blamed on COVID) reminiscent of George Orwell’s 1984.
It will be even worse in parts of the world, and especially in Europe.
As far as what is coming from a power that will arise in Europe, here is a portion of scripture:
16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:16-18)
The ability to do that did not exist when Jesus had John pen the Revelation. The technology now exists. And even in the USA government officials keep showing that they are supporting strong financial controls.
The Bible shows that a European totalitarian dictator will rise up (Revelation 13, 17:12-13).
Actually, Europe is in the process of establishing an enforcer for 666 controls. We have a related video:
The European Union is in the process of establishing the European Public Prosecutor’s Office. This is a major, first-of-its-kind move, with the EU setting up a European-wide prosecutor’s office that will have power to investigate and charge people for financial crimes committed against the EU. It looks like this type of office may end up persecuting those that do not have the mark of the Beast when they “buy or sell” as that will later be considered a financial crime in Europe. What does 666 mean? How has that name been calculated? How can we be certain that this is a prophecy for Europe and not Islam?
