Talmudic prophecy reveals: Russia-Ukraine war indicates Messiah’s arrival as early as 2022

March 31, 2022

What does the Russian invasion of Ukraine have to do with the Messiah? Everything, according to one rabbi who studied the Talmud’s prophecy. Rabbi Yehuda Richter of Kfar Tappuach revealed in a recent lecture entitled ‘Emergency Broadcast: Russia, Ukraine, Armageddon, Bringing the Redemption’ that in the Talmud, a little-known prophesy touches on how wars in “the seventh year” are a sign of the End-of-days and a harbinger of the Messiah’s arrival.

The number seven

In the presentation, the rabbi cites his sources in the Talmud, saying:

“Talmud tractate of megillah page 17, side B also you could refer to Sanhedrin 97 side A. We are told that the great assembly of the 120 sages they arranged and compiled the silent Amida – the 18 benedictions, the 18 prayers, and every blessing originally was 18. Then afterward, of course, 19 but every single blessing that the great assembly assembled and there was a purpose and a reason why that blessing had to be exactly in that spot. The Talmud asks – we know that the seventh blessing of the Amidah is asking God to look at our troubles and to redeem us. So why is redemption connected to the number seven?”

Months of redemption

The rabbi explains that the Nation of Israel will experience redemption in the seventh year – or the Sabbatical year, which we are in right now. Furthermore, the rabbi adds that the war in Ukraine is happening in the months that are associated with redemption – Adar (February-March), whereby the Jewish people celebrate their redemption from destruction during the holiday of Purim and Nissan (March-April), where the Jewish people celebrate their redemption from Egypt on the holiday of Passover.
“The Talmud says that the Jewish people will be redeemed in the seventh year in the sabbatical year. Not only are we in a sabbatical year, but we are in three months of the year that are redemption – that are really geared for redemption. That’s two months of Adar where the redemption of Purim occurred and also the following month of Nissan where the redemption of Passover – leaving Egypt occurred.”

Wars at the end of the seventh year

Rabbi Richter explains that the Talmud prophesizes wars in the seventh year, and in the eighth year, the Messiah will arrive: “The tractate of Derech Zuta in the 10th chapter, the first law it says they’re a little bit different. It says there will be wars during the seventh year, specifically at the end of the seventh year. The beginning of the eighth year, then the Messiah of David will come to redeem the Jewish people – the Mashiach, the Son of David.”  The rabbi then explains that when the wars end in the seventh year, the Messiah, a descendant of David, arrives in the eighth year (September 2022-September 2023) https://www.israel365news.com/267995/talmudic-prophesy-reveals-russia-ukraine-war-indicates-messiahs-arrival-as-early-as-2022/

Not so fast.

First of all, Jesus will not return until after a variety of events that are mentioned in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 which have not yet happened. Notice also:

29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.  (Matthew 24:29-31)

The Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21) lasts years and has not yet begun, hence it is not possible for Jesus to return in 2022 or 2023.

Now this seventh year matter that the Kfar Tappuach leader referred to is also called a ‘shemitah’ year.

Related to that, let’s get some scriptural background.

The first day of the seventh month (Ethanim/Tishri) of the Hebrew calendar, which we call the Feast of Trumpets, was considered the beginning of the civil year. This is similar to how the first month (Nisan) was considered to be the beginning of God’s sacred year (cf. Exodus 12:2).

The beginning of each month for ancient Israel was to be marked with the blowing of trumpets per Numbers 10:10.

Every seven years there was a rest for the land–starting with the first year the children of Israel came into the promised land –and every seven years thereafter:

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall keep a sabbath to the Lord. 3 Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather its fruit; 4 but in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the Lord. You shall neither sow your field nor prune your vineyard. (Leviticus 25:1-5)

10 “Six years you shall sow your land and gather in its produce, 11 but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave, the beasts of the field may eat. In like manner you shall do with your vineyard and your olive grove. (Exodus 23:10-11)

The land rest helped the land become more productive as well as provided assistance to the poor.

According to the Jews, “The current Shmita year is 2021–2022 or Anno mundi 5782 in Hebrew calendar.” (Wikipedia, accessed 03/31/22).

However, the Jews have a problem counting years as that is NOT the year 5782, but more like approximately 5991 (see Does God Have a 6,000 Year Plan? What Year Does the 6,000 Years End?). Basically, this is because they did not want prophecies in the 9th chapter of the Book of Daniel to point to Jesus as the Messiah, so they made changes–changes that were recorded in a book called the Seder Olam–which Jewish scholars have long admitted is inaccurate.

That being said, this Jewish Shemita year has been accepted by the Messianic Jew Jonathan Cahn and certain other Protestants.

Theis claimed Shemitah year runs from sunset September 6, 2021 through sunset September 25, 2022. Which was the beginning of the Feast of Trumpets in 2021 and then ending with the next one in 2022.

Related to the claimed Shemitahs, we put together the following video:

2022-2023 Shemitahs: Destruction/Reset?

Modern Jews claim that the period of time from sunset September 6, 2021 through sunset September 25, 2022 is a ‘Shemitah year.’ Some claim that this and the year that begins when this one ends (the claimed ‘jubilee’ is being called a ‘super shemitah”) and runs through 2023 may cause destruction or the Great Reset. Is this possible? Is Messianic Jew, Jonathan Cahn (of the Harbinger fame) a prophet of God as Pat Robertson has said or a false prophet? Was he right about the financial collapse of the USA in 2015? Are the Jews right about their Shemitah year being year 5982, or is 5991 closer? What about the beginning of sorrows? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.

Related to whether or not Jesus can return this year or the next, we put together the following video:

23:12

Much is happening around the world today. Is the Great Tribulation about to begin? Various ones have pointed to it starting in 2022 or 2023–and stated that they got 2022 from the Holy Spirit. What about centuries old predictions supposedly pointing to 2022 by Nostradamus and Paracelsus? Some Muslims have pointed to Jesus returning in 2022 or 2023. Is that possible? Should you rely on Jonathan Cahn’s views of the ‘Shemitah year’ to understand prophecy? What about the ‘Super Shemitah’ (also known as the Jubliee year)? Are there still signs that Jesus and Daniel pointed to that we need to see first? If so, what do they include? What is the earliest year that the Great Tribulation can begin according to scripture? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.

Anyway, no Jesus will not return in 2022 or 2023.

But make no mistake about it–the end is coming and fairly soon–and probably, sometime in the next ten or so years.

Might the U.S.A. Be Gone by 2028? Are there prophetic reasons to believe that the USA will not last two complete presidential terms? Yes. There is a tradition attributed to the Hebrew prophet Elijah that humanity had 6,000 years to live before being replaced by God’s Kingdom. There are scriptures, writings in the Talmud, early Christian teachings that support this. Also, even certain Hindu writings support it.
