Russia has completely stopped delivering gas to Poland.
Poland’s largest news portal, Onet, reports that the Polish state-controlled oil and gas company PGNiG, is holding a crisis meeting.

One of Germany’s biggest energy firms has said it is preparing to buy Russian gas using a payment system that critics say will undermine EU sanctions.
Uniper says it will pay in euros which will be converted into roubles, meeting a Kremlin demand for all transactions to be made in the Russian currency.
Other European energy firms are reportedly preparing to do the same amid concerns about supply cuts.
Uniper said it had no choice but said it was still abiding by EU sanctions.
“We consider a payment conversion compliant with sanctions law and the Russian decree to be possible,” a spokesman told the BBC.
“For our company and for Germany as a whole, it is not possible to do without Russian gas in the short term; this would have dramatic consequences for our economy.” …
In late March, Russia said “unfriendly countries” would have to start paying for its oil and gas in roubles to prop up its currency after Western allies froze billions of dollars it held in foreign currencies overseas.
Under the decree, European importers must pay euros or dollars into an account at Gazprombank, the Swiss-based trading arm of Gazprom, and then convert this into roubles in a second account in Russia.
The European Commission said last week that if buyers of Russian gas could complete payments in euros and get confirmation of this before any conversion into roubles took place, that would not breach sanctions.
However there are different views among countries on how to interpret its initial guidance, and this week EC boss Ursula von der Lyon sparked confusion when she said firms could still be breaking the rules. …
On Tuesday, Poland and Bulgaria both refused to pay for gas in roubles leading to Russian state gas firm Gazprom shutting off supplies. …

Russian energy giant Gazprom on Wednesday halted gas supplies to Bulgaria and Poland over a failure to pay for gas in rubles.
It marks Russia’s stiffest reaction yet to sanctions imposed by the West over the conflict in Ukraine.
Gazprom said that it hadn’t received payments in rubles since April 1 from Poland and Bulgaria and was suspending deliveries as of Wednesday.
“Gazprom has completely suspended gas supplies to Bulgargaz [Bulgaria] and PGNiG [Poland] due to absence of payments in rubles,” Gazprom said in a statement. “Payments for gas supplied from April 1 must be made in rubles using the new payments details, about which the counterparties were informed in a timely manner.” https://www.dw.com/en/russias-gazprom-halts-gas-supplies-to-poland-bulgaria/a-61602038

Germany and the EU remain the biggest buyers of Russian energy.
Figures compiled by an independent research group show that Germany has been the biggest single-country buyer of Russian energy in the first two months since the war in Ukraine began.
The study published by the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) calculates that Russia has earned €63 billion ($66.5 billion) from fossil fuel exports since February 24.
The researchers worked out that Germany alone paid Russia about €9.1 billion ($9.65 billion) for fossil fuel deliveries in the two months following the start of Moscow’s invasion.

Germany feels that its people and industry needs Russian oil and natural gas, so it plans to continue to do so for years to come.
The USA does not like this, but the reality is that one day, the Germans will make a deal with Russia against the USA.
A decade or so after I came to that conclusion, I saw for the first time the following items from the old Radio Church of God:

The deal Russia will later make with the Europeans will not end well for the US (cf. Daniel 11:39). It should be noted that this Beast leader is NOT Russian (see also Is Russia the King of the North?), but European (watch also Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?). Despite claims from Protestant Joel Richardson, this Beast leader also is NOT Islamic (see also Is There an Islamic Antichrist?).
As far a Russia being a security threat to Europe, the Bible shows that Russia will one day take military steps against Europe (the end time “daughter of Babylon”):
41 “Behold, a people shall come from the north,
And a great nation and many kings
Shall be raised up from the ends of the earth.
42 They shall hold the bow and the lance;
They are cruel and shall not show mercy.
Their voice shall roar like the sea;
They shall ride on horses,
Set in array, like a man for the battle,
Against you, O daughter of Babylon.43 “The king of Babylon has heard the report about them,
And his hands grow feeble;
Anguish has taken hold of him,
Pangs as of a woman in childbirth…”(Jeremiah 50:41-43).
But the above will NOT happen before the USA itself is gone.
Germany and Russia will work together, despite tensions, off and on until after the USA itself is no more.
