The Economist: Donald Trump poses the biggest danger to the world in 2024

Some are concerned that if the USA Supreme Court makes a particular ruling that former President Donald Trump will have even more power if he wins the 2024 election:
A Supreme Court case about stocks could help make Trump’s authoritarian dreams reality
The “unitary executive” is back, and it could supercharge Trump’s plans to fill the government with his own loyalists.
November 21, 2023
Last year, a federal appeals court dominated by Trump appointees and MAGA sympathizers ruled that the system the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) uses to protect investors from fraud is unconstitutional — and that it is unconstitutional in three ways. This case, known as SEC v. Jarkesy, will be heard by the Supreme Court on November 29. …
A sweeping decision affirming the Fifth Circuit could potentially enable former President Donald Trump to stack the federal civil service with MAGA loyalists, should he become president again.
Under the strongest version of the unitary executive theory, there are few, if any, limits on a president’s power to fire government employees who refuse to swear personal loyalty to that president. https://www.vox.com/scotus/2023/11/21/23964561/supreme-court-sec-jarkesy-donald-trump-authoritarian-unitary-executive
Some others want Donald Trump gone:
Trump “Has To Be Eliminated”: Another Dan Goldman Gaffe, Or Call For Assassination?
November 21, 2023
Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) can’t stop saying stupid things. …
And so when Adam Schiff’s budget mini-me piped up over the weekend to say that former President Donald Trump “has to be eliminated,” eyebrows were raised over exactly what he meant.
“His rhetoric is really getting dangerous. More and more dangerous. And we saw what happened on January 6th, when he uses inflammatory rhetoric. Now, in his recent Truth Social posts, is incredibly, incredibly scary for anyone uh, that, might be trying to work in government – and, it is just unquestionable at this point that that man can not see public office again. He is not only unfit, he is destructive to our democracy, and he has to be eliminated,” Goldman told MSNBC‘s Jen Psaki. https://www.zerohedge.com/political/trump-has-be-eliminated-another-dan-goldman-gaffe-or-call-assassination
A reader tipped me off to the following from The Economist:
Donald Trump poses the biggest danger to the world in 2024
November 16, 2023
A shadow looms over the world. In this week’s edition we publish The World Ahead 2024, our 38th annual predictive guide to the coming year, and in all that time no single person has ever eclipsed our analysis as much as Donald Trump eclipses 2024. …
Because maga Republicans have been planning his second term for months, Trump 2 would be more organised than Trump 1. True believers would occupy the most important positions. Mr Trump would be unbound in his pursuit of retribution, economic protectionism and theatrically extravagant deals. No wonder the prospect of a second Trump term fills the world’s parliaments and boardrooms with despair. …
Mr Trump will wage war on any institution that stands in his way, including the courts and the Department of Justice.
Yet a Trump victory next year would also have a profound effect abroad. China and its friends would rejoice over the evidence that American democracy is dysfunctional. If Mr Trump trampled due process and civil rights in the United States, his diplomats could not proclaim them abroad. The global south would be confirmed in its suspicion that American appeals to do what is right are really just an exercise in hypocrisy. …
Mr Trump judges that for America to spend blood and treasure in Europe is a bad deal. He has therefore threatened to end the Ukraine war in a day and to wreck nato, perhaps by reneging on America’s commitment to treat an attack on one country as an attack on all. In the Middle East Mr Trump is likely to back Israel without reserve, however much that stirs up conflict in the region. In Asia he may be open to doing a deal with China’s president, Xi Jinping, to abandon Taiwan because he cannot see why America would go to war with a nuclear-armed superpower to benefit a tiny island.
But knowing that America would abandon Europe, Mr Putin would have an incentive to fight on in Ukraine and to pick off former Soviet countries such as Moldova or the Baltic states. Without American pressure, Israel is unlikely to generate an internal consensus for peace talks with the Palestinians. Calculating that Mr Trump does not stand by his allies, Japan and South Korea could acquire nuclear weapons. By asserting that America has no global responsibility to help deal with climate change, Mr Trump would crush efforts to slow it. …
A second Trump term would be a watershed in a way the first was not. Victory would confirm his most destructive instincts about power. His plans would encounter less resistance. And because America will have voted him in while knowing the worst, its moral authority would decline. The election will be decided by tens of thousands of voters in just a handful of states. In 2024 the fate of the world will depend on their ballots. https://www.economist.com/leaders/2023/11/16/donald-trump-poses-the-biggest-danger-to-the-world-in-2024
The above has a lot of speculation and most certainly is an opinion piece as opposed to being an actual news article. The biggest danger to the world is sin. Anyway, no the fate of the world does not depend on the result of the USA 2024 presidential election.
Before going further, notice a pro-Trump article:
If Trump doesn’t win, America is finished
September 9, 2023
I don’t think enough Americans understand the gravity of the situation we’re in.
We are facing the end of the GOP. We are facing the reality that if former President Donald Trump doesn’t win in 2024, there will never be another Republican president. That’s not a possibility, it’s a certainty.
But it’s much worse than that. With Democrats in full control of power, there will never be a Republican again. PERIOD.
With one-party rule … and the weaponization of government in full force … and censorship of dissent by media and social media in full force; with free speech being criminalized (as it is now versus Trump) against all Americans … with no opposition to communist Big Brother government … being Republican, or conservative, or patriotic will almost certainly be criminalized out of existence.
That’s the end of America, American exceptionalism, the American dream, capitalism and Judeo-Christian values.
Forever.
That’s it. It’s all over. https://www.wnd.com/2023/09/trump-doesnt-win-america-finished/
Irrespective or what may or may not happen with the Republican party, no, Donald Trump nor voting in Republicans will not stop the decline of the USA.
Nor will Joe Biden.
Some think that Michelle Obama, Gavin Newsom, or someone else will become the candidate for the Democrats.
Well, they will not either.
Isaiah had warnings for leaders which apply in the last days:
20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil (Isaiah 5:20)
16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed (Isaiah 9:16).
We are seeing political leaders in many lands, including the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand erring by promoting sins that the Bible condemns.
I am NOT a voter nor a Democrat nor a MAGA (or any any other type of) Republican –I am a non-partisan Christian looking for the return of Jesus and the establishment of the Kingdom of God.
Consider that Jesus warned:
25 Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. (Matthew 12:25)
17 Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls. (Luke 11:17)
The divide in the USA is growing as many of its sins (including hypocrisy) become more blatant.
That said, as posted here several times before, I consider that Michelle Obama, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden are evil. Let me also add Gavin Newsom to that list.
Without going into unique specifics, let’s consider how they (Gavin Newsom being an exception to some, however, as he was not part of a presidential administration) are similar:
- They do not live like a member of their professed faiths is supposed to try to live.
- They support LGBTQ rights.
- They have not called for national repentance.
- They have not sought first the Kingdom of God.
- They have all been involved in Administrations that greatly increased USA debt.
- They have all been involved in Administrations that have upset the Europeans.
- They have all been accused of hypocrisy.
- None have the real solutions for what the USA needs.
Now, I am not trying to say that there are no differences. Yes, I know they have differing economic and climate policies as well as different views on abortion and racial matters.
As far as being hypocritical goes, the Book of Job teaches:
13 … And the hope of the hypocrite shall perish, (Job 8:13)
Bible prophecy warns that God will punish and destroy “an hypocritical nation” (Isaiah 10:6, KJV) in a prophecy related to the USA.
I do not believe that Michelle Obama, Joe Biden, or Gavin Newsom are necessarily less hypocritical than Donald Trump.
As far as the USA itself goes, the handwriting is on the wall for its coming end.
But, as I wrote before Joe Biden took office, the end will NOT come in the first term of a Biden-Harris Administration.
However, IF certain step happen in the next year (like the confirmation of the deal of Daniel 9:27), and:
- If as the School of Elijah taught, that God inspired Elijah to state that the world as we have known it would last 6,000 years, to be followed by a thousand year sabbatical time, which Jewish tradition (Talmud, Tractate Sanhedrin [97a]) and early Christian traditions records (e.g. Irenaeus, a hearer of Polycarp. Adversus haereses, Book V, Chapter 30:4), then we are getting close to the end of that time.
- And if, consistent with scriptures in both the Old and New Testaments, we can apply the concept that a thousand years is as a day to God (Psalm 90:4; 2 Peter 3:8).
- And if, as generally understood in the Church of God that Jesus was killed and resurrected no later than the Spring of 31 A.D. on Passover.
- And if we can presume that the “last days” of a 7,000 year prophetic week began AFTER the middle day (day 4), then the last days prior to the “sabbatical” time, which some would refer to as the millennial Kingdom of God would last two thousand years.
- And if when Peter referred to being in the last days (Acts 2:17-18) and since Hebrews 1:1-12 teaches that “God … has in these last days spoken to us by His Son.”
- Then adding 2,000 years to a period of time leads to the end of the 6,000 years no later than 2031.
- Since the Great Tribulation is expected to start 3 1/2 years prior to that (cf. Revelation 12:14; 13:5) subtracting 3 1/2 years from the Spring of 2031 would be late in 2027.
- Understand that the USA is prophesied to be taken over near the rise of the Beast and start of the Great Tribulation (cf. Daniel 11:39; Jeremiah 30:7; Matthew 24:21-22).
- Therefore, since the end of the next full USA presidential term would end in January of 2029, these prophetic understandings point to the end of the USA prior to the end of the next presidential term.
- This is also consistent with certain Roman Catholic prophetic writings as well.
It looks like from certain Jewish, biblical, Christian, and Roman Catholic perspectives (and yes others associated with those faiths have other opinions), that the end of the USA may well happen before the end of the next presidential term.

Is the USA prophesied to be destroyed by 2028?
Are there prophetic reasons to believe that the USA will not last two complete presidential terms? Yes. There is a tradition attributed to the Hebrew prophet Elijah that humanity had 6,000 years to live before being replaced by God’s Kingdom. There are scriptures, writings in the Talmud, early Christian teachings that support this. Also, even certain Hindu writings support it.

Repentance could delay the disaster coming to the USA (cf. Daniel 4:27)–but that is not expected.
Without national repentance, the end is coming very soon no matter what party wins the USA 2024 presidential election.
Destruction is coming to the USA–as well as its British-descended allies (UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand)–and it will be worse than most people will believe.
