Proclaiming the Gospel through literature

The old Radio Church of God reported:

Now a most important mission of AMBASSADOR COLLEGE is to teach foreign languages. (Armstrong HW. Co-worker letter, January 28, 1947)

Today we do reach every inhabited Continent on earth. But we do not yet reach every nation. We are now publishing literature not only in English, but also in German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Portuguese. We are preparing to publish the Gospel in Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Japanese and other languages. We are teaching many of these languages in our two colleges. Consecrated students, native born in many of these countries and speaking their languages from infancy, are enrolling in our colleges and being trained for GOING INTO ALL THE WORLD, and PREACHING TO ALL NATIONS! (Armstrong HW. Co-worker letter, July 31, 1962)

The old Worldwide Church of God reported in ran article titled Open Doors for Christ’s Gospel!:

In addition to the spoken word, Christ’s Gospel and God’s way of life is authoritatively expounded monthly in seven languages, through the pages of The Plain Truth … Billions of people can read at least one language. (Snyder M. Open Doors for Christ’s Gospel! Good News, 1983)

Yes, billions can read at least one language, and for most of them, English is not the language that they can read. Attaining multiple translations is part of the open doors in the 21 century.

While many others make claims about reaching the world, the Continuing Church of God has has taken steps to reach, not only English speakers in all nations, but to reach people in as many languages as God opens the door for us to utilize.

The Continuing Church of God has been receiving more and more translations of its English language booklet titled The Gospel of the Kingdom of God.

Related to that. the Continuing Church of God (CCOG) put out the following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:

Proclaiming the Gospel in 1000+ Languages

The Continuing Church of God (CCOG) has now received over 1000 translations of its English language booklet, The Gospel of the Kingdom of God. Should people rejoice (cf. Acts 15:3) or criticize this milestone? Has the CCOG done this in a cost-effective and efficient manner? Does the Bible prophesy the use of multiple languages? Are multiple languages implied by Jesus’ commissions to the church in Matthew 24:14 and Matthew 28:19-20? What is the ‘open door’ for the Philadelphian Christians? Does the full number of Gentiles (cf. Romans 11:25) need to come in during this age? Are minor languages significant according to the Apostle Paul? Is the CCOG preparing for the ‘short work’ of Romans 9:28? Does the Book of Revelation tell of people of all languages and tongues being saved? Has any Church of God, since the formation of the true church in Acts 2, ever had information on the good news of the gospel of the kingdom translated into this many languages? What about the old Worldwide Church of God and the open door? Are there additional ways, like radio, that the CCOG is using to reach people around the world in different languages? Relating to translations, does the CCOG expect to have at least “hundreds more in 2024”? Steve Dupuie and Dr. Thiel address these matters.

Herbert W. Armstrong, on a radio broadcast titled ‘Why Were You Born?,’ said:

Jesus gave them the commission “Go [ye] into all the world, and preach the gospel…” (Mark 16:15) And Jesus said of our time now — when that true gospel had been submerged here for centuries — He has said “…this gospel of the kingdom [the same gospel He preached] shall go into all the world [be preached and published in all the world] as a witness unto all nations and then shall the end come.” (Matthew 24:14)

In its latest Letter to the Brethren, the Continuing Church of God had the following:

New Zealand Promotion of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God

Shirley Gestro sent the following from New Zealand:

Dear Dr. Thiel,

As mentioned, a few weeks ago, we were planning to create a flyer to display on community and public boards during our travels to FOT in Mt Maunganui (North Island) and back to Westport (South Island).

Ritchie and I worked on the attached flyer. We used Microsoft AI Designer for the earth globe, etc.

The flyer is for the Gospel of the Kingdom of God booklet, related items, and BNP radio. We sourced a free QR code that includes stats. Interested people can scan the QR code with their mobile phone, and it will direct them to the site page. We tested the QR code, and it works fine on both A4 and A5 paper sizes. Alternatively, the page site URL is on the flyer.

I set up a page specifically for this flyer which includes: The GTKOG booklet links in English and other languages, information about the book with an additional short summary, 4 KOG-related sermons in video and audio, COGwriter news and analysis link, BNP radio interviews, audio news reports, and audio and written literature links. The specific bullet points with world event issues are addressed with a few related item links. The site page link is here: The Gospel of the Kingdom of God — Bible News Prophecy Radio

Anyway, this is another way to reach part of the world with a witness (cf. Matthew 24:14) with literature.

The Continuing Church of God put out this sermon on its ContinuingCOG channel:

What work should the most faithful Christians be supporting in the 21st century? What was the “open door” that Jesus opened for the Philadelphians for? Did Herbert W. Armstrong say that door was for the Philadelphians to fulfill Matthew 24:14 to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom to the world as a witness? What did Luke and the Apostle Paul write about the open door? Is having literature in hundreds of languages helpful to assist in the fulfillment of Matthew 24:14, Matthew 28:19-20, Romans 11:25, and Revelation 7:9? Just what was the work according to Herbert W. Armstrong? When did he, Dr. Herman Hoeh, and others in the Church of God say the proclamation work was to end? Was that related to the Great Tribulation and a nuclear World War III? Were the Laodiceans prophesied to rise up, be the dominant Christians at the end, but with lukewarm efforts and priorities, while wanting to focus on taking care of themselves? Did the Radio Church of God also warn about that? Is the proclamation of the Philadelphian church supposed to last until about the time it is to flee to the “place of safety” in the wilderness? Are there analogies between the first and second temple and the work done under Herbert W. Armstrong and now the Continuing Church of God? What about Loma Armstrong’s two-part dream? What about proclaiming the gospel through multi-media, radio, internet, literature, and personal visits? Will Philadelphian Christians be subject to persecution when some are used by God to “instruct many” per Daniel 11:33? Did Herbert Armstrong believe a “second work” would rise to effectively finish the short work of Romans 11:28? What are some part of the “final phase of the work”? Does the Continuing Church of God have the type of fruits that Jesus pointed to? Is supporting the proclamation work showing Philadelphian brotherly love? Was “Philadelphia” to continue per Hebrews 13:1? Is necessity laid upon the true Philadelphians to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom to the world as a witness? Is this a priority of the Continuing Church of God? Dr. Thiel addresses these matters and more by citing scriptures, historical records, and more!

Some additional items of possibly related interest may include:

Should the Church Still Try to Place its Top Priority on Proclaiming the Gospel or Did Herbert W. Armstrong Change that Priority for the Work? Some say the Church should mainly feed the flock now as that is what Herbert W. Armstrong reportedly said. Is that what he said? Is that what the Bible says? What did Paul and Herbert W. Armstrong expect from lower level leaders? Three related sermons are available The Work per HWA and the Bible, Priority of the Philadelphia Work, and Philadelphian Gospel Proclamation Priority.
