Sermon: Significance of the Whole Armor of God

COGwriter

Chad Branton gave the following sermon:

Chad Branton discusses the ‘Armor of God.’ He mentions that Satan’s goal is to destroy God’s church. And that while Satan cannot actually do that, as the church will continue, he can push some out of it. He said the faithful need to be unified to best do the work. He mentioned several military analogies that Christians should be able to understand and comply with, including governance and structure. He said that Satan wants to push the physical leader of the church aside and that Christians should pray for him and the rest of church leadership. He repeatedly mentioned that God’s people need to put on the “Armor of God’ so that we can withstand the wiles of the devil. He explained about the different parts of the armor mentioned in Ephesians 6 and some of the significance of each of the pieces, as well as the fact that armor can have weak points. He mentioned that God’s word is truth and that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. In his concluding comments, he also read some comments on the armor and the need for Philadelphians to have it from the late Gerald Waterhouse.
