Mexico’s President Sheinbaum did not take kindly to Donald Trump’s suggesting of renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

Mexico president trolls Trump with “Mexican America” map after his “Gulf of America” name change proposal

Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum responded sarcastically on Wednesday to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s proposal to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America.”

Standing before a 17th-century world map in her daily press briefing, Sheinbaum proposed dryly that North America should be renamed “América Mexicana,” or “Mexican America,” because a founding document dating from 1814 that preceded Mexico’s constitution referred to it that way.

“That sounds nice, no?” she added with a sarcastic tone. She also noted that the Gulf of Mexico had been named that way since 1607.

Trump made the comments during an open-ended Mar-a-Lago press conference during which he also didn’t rule out using military or economic coercion to bring Greenland and the Panama Canal under U.S. control.

“We’re going to be changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which has a beautiful ring,” Trump said. “That covers a lot of territory, the Gulf of America. What a beautiful name. And it’s appropriate. It’s appropriate. And Mexico has to stop allowing millions of people to pour into our country.”

Trump ally Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia said she would introduce legislation to that effect on Thursday morning. …

Canada also gave a sarcastic response this week to Trump’s recent comments about annexing America’s northern neighbor. According to Canada’s CTV News, Ontario Premier Doug Ford was questioned by a reporter on Monday about Trump’s multi-prong threats to impose a 25% tariff on products from Canada and Mexico in the first hours of his presidency, as well as making Canada the “51st state.”

“You know something, to the president, I’ll make him a counteroffer. How about if we buy Alaska, and we’ll throw in Minnesota and Minneapolis at the same time,” Ford said. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/mexico-president-trolls-trump-us-should-be-renamed-mexican-america/

In 1978, South Dakota Sen. Jim Abourezk was one of the deciding votes in a narrow Senate majority that voted to give control of the Panama Canal to the nation of Panama. The move to cede control of the canal was a key piece to President Jimmy Carter’s foreign policy goals.

Now another South Dakotan, Rep. Dusty Johnson, is sponsoring legislation to buy it back. The Panama Canal Repurchase Act authorizes the president to negotiate the return of the canal and report to Congress within 180 days on how those negotiations are proceeding. https://www.thedakotascout.com/p/dusty-johnson-and-trump-want-the

“President Trump is right to consider repurchasing the Panama Canal. China’s interest in and presence around the canal is a cause for concern,” Johnson said in a statement.

So, after Donald Trump proposes changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico, legislation is being proposed to do that. After Donald Trump said that the US should regain control of the Panama Canal, legislation is to be introduced to do that.

Related to Greenland, we will see what the Trump-Vance Administration will do.

Greenland’s prime minister has called for unity, urging citizens not to panic, after being thrown into a geopolitical battle between the US and Denmark by Donald Trump’s interest in taking control of the territory.

Múte Egede said he understood people may be concerned after the incoming US president declined to rule out using military and economic force to gain control of Greenland, but called on his fellow citizens to “put aside differences and stand together”.

His government released a statement on Wednesday night reiterating Greenland’s right to self-determination, adding that it “looks forward to establishing contact” with the Trump administration.

The statement, issued by the minister for statehood and foreign affairs, Vivian Motzfeldt, said the government recognised Greenland’s “decisive and important role for the US’s national security interests”, which is why, it said, it houses a US military base.

It added: “Greenland looks forward to working with the incoming US administration and other Nato allies to ensure security and stability in the Arctic region.”

At a press conference on Tuesday, Trump refused to rule out using military force to take over Greenland and the Panama canal, and also suggested he intended to use “economic force” to make Canada part of the US, causing controversy around the world.

Greenland is a former Danish colony and remains part of the kingdom of Denmark, which controls its foreign and security policy.

Before Trump’s intervention, a movement in favour of independence from Denmark had been gathering steam in Greenland. …

In order to gain independence from Denmark, the Greenlandic government’s statement said it was “open to increased and constructive cooperation with our closest neighbours.”

Panama is considering that the USA is an enemy. Mexico is considering that. Denmark is considering that. The European Union is considering that. And Greenland and Canada are wondering about that.

But all, to some degree, want to try to cooperate, for a while, with the incoming Trump-Vance Administration.

That said, statements and policies by the government of the US, and not just those related to Donald Trump, are turning more and more nations against the US.

The growing BRICS+ alliance is a group of nations that are cooperating with each other so that they do not have to be impacted as much by the United States. Indonesia, the world’s fourth most populous nation joined this week (see Indonesia now officially part of BRICS, while US dollar reserves reducing in the world). The African nation of Kenya is seriously thinking about it:

Kenyan President William Ruto made public his country’s intention to join BRICS during a visit by Li Xi, the secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the ruling Communist Party of China. Specifically, Ruto made an appeal to China to support Kenya’s quest for membership in the group.

Ruto’s request reflects the desire of a nation keen on spurring economic growth and enhancing its regional and global influence amid rapidly changing modern geopolitics. Diplomacy experts in Nairobi argue that, just like many other Global South nations, by joining BRICS, Kenya seeks to benefit from a global economic model that resonates with the needs of developing nations.

Breaking free from Western control

John Mbiti, a researcher and policy analyst at the Kenya Institute of Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) says that BRICS is a powerful and influential bloc both economically and geo-politically, and as such, “Kenya has every right to align herself with such a bloc.”

“There is no doubt that the world’s geo-politics are changing and any country including Kenya will tend to align with a side that guarantees, secures and respects her political, economic, regional and global interests,” Mbiti told RT.

Mbiti argues that one of Kenya’s core motivations for joining BRICS is to break free from the control of the West. “[The] majority of African states who are allies of the West have their economies under the mercy and control of western controlled financial institutions and many African nations want to break from such,” he said. …

Global governance expert Dr. Christopher Otieno argues

BRICS is a huge market and Kenya being a member of such a bloc will grant her preferential access for her exports of products such as tea, coffee, and horticultural goods,” …

The expert observes that larger, non-restrictive market access could boost Kenya’s trade balance, create jobs, and improve livelihoods for millions of Kenyans involved in agriculture. …

In May 2023, Ruto said his government would deepen its relations with Moscow in order to increase trade volumes. He made the commitment when he hosted visiting Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in the capital.

Nearly half the world’s population are in nations that are in the BRICS+ alliance–Kenya would add 55 million more if it is admitted.

Hillary Clinton used to brag about using the “soft power” of the US when she was its Secretary of State. But many nations see such power plays as bullying and do not want to be pushed by the US.

Donald Trump’s statements are being perceived as a warning to many around the world.

While many will temporarily try to appease him, the reality is that a new world order, one NOT dominated by the Anglo-American powers is prophesied in your Bible.

Statements and policies from Donald Trump are having the negative unintended consequence of pushing nations away from the US, but towards others.

Jesus told about the coming time of the Gentiles in Luke 21:24 and we are getting closer to that. Notice the following:

23 ‘Make a chain,
For the land is filled with crimes of blood,
And the city is full of violence.
24 Therefore I will bring the worst of the Gentiles,
And they will possess their houses;
I will cause the pomp of the strong to cease,
And their holy places shall be defiled.
25 Destruction comes;
They will seek peace, but there shall be none. (Ezekiel 7:23-25)

23 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. 24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. (Luke 21:23-24)

2 But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. (Revelation 11:2)

Notice that Ezekiel, Jesus (whose words are recorded in Luke), and John (who penned Revelation) were talking about the same time.

While much of the mainstream media in the USA seems focused on internal politics, much of the world is moving towards a type of integration that will result in the final time of the Gentiles (Luke 21:24; see also The Times of the Gentiles) and the end of Anglo-American dominance.

As I have written for years (e.g. see BRICS: Gentiles plan to break Ango-American dominance) the BRICS alliance and others are intent on breaking Anglo-American dominance.

The final Time of the Gentiles is coming and it will NOT end well for the USA (cf. Daniel 11:39).
