Fruits: The gospel is being preached, short work being prepared for, truth restored, youth outreaches, and the poor have the gospel preached to them
`
Jesus taught:
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them. (Matthew 7:15-20)
Could those fruits include being spoken against? Yes, that would be expected according to Jesus:
11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:11-12)
Notice something else that the Apostle Matthew was inspired to write about:
1 Now it came to pass, when Jesus finished commanding His twelve disciples, that He departed from there to teach and to preach in their cities.
2 And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples 3 and said to Him, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?”
4 Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: 5 The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. 6 And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” …
16 “But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their companions, 17 and saying:
‘We played the flute for you,
And you did not dance;
We mourned to you,
And you did not lament.’18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.” (Matthew 11:1-6, 16-19)
Jesus clearly taught that the work God had Him do, as well as that of John the Baptist, were criticized. And even John the Baptist was influenced by reports of naysayers and talebearers.
Yet, Jesus pointed to certain aspects of His ministry as proof He was faithful and the one He said He was, despite the fact that most in His generation would not properly respond.
So, what is going on in the Continuing Church of God (CCOG)?
This post will contain a lot of excerpts from the CCOG’s Letter to the Brethren: February 13, 2025. Here is one excerpt:
Dear Brethren and Co-Workers in Christ:
Greetings from the Five Cities region of California.
We are back in California from Thailand and have been attempting to catch up. …
Related to the preparation for the short work of Romans 9:28 (see also Preparing for the ‘Short Work’ and The Famine of the Word), we received an additional 60 translations of our English language booklet, The Gospel of the Kingdom of God this week. Jesus’ prophecy in Matthew 24:14 will be fulfilled and having additional translation supports that.
We now have had that booklet translated into nearly 2000 languages/dialects as part of our efforts to prepare for the short work.
Notice something that the Bible says will happen BEFORE the millennium:
33 And those of the people who understand shall instruct many . . . (Daniel 11:33)
We in the Continuing Church of God have been preparing for that as that is part of the short-work of Romans 9:28.
Jesus gave the following commission:
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:19-20)
This involves working to reach people in multiple languages. Jesus’ statements in Matthew 24:14 and Matthew 28:19-20 are the major commissions of the faithful church. The “phil,” as in Philadelphian Christians, means fraternal love/affection, which in the biblical context includes supporting the proclamation of the gospel of the kingdom of God to all that we can.
Satan does not want people reached in other languages.
But as the Apostle Paul wrote of him, “Satan … we are not ignorant of his devices” (2 Corinthians 2:11).
Trying to cast doubt on God, His word, His ministry, His people, and His faithful church is something that Satan and his associates do. That is one of the reasons that Satan is referred to in the Bible as “the accuser of the brethren” (Revelation 12:10).
Sadly, many throughout church history have succumbed to his ways.
In the CCOG, we also have the miraculous signs that the Apostle Peter said would be manifest in the last days–for proof, check out the article: Does the CCOG have the confirmed signs of Acts 2:17-18? Are not those confirmation that God’s Spirit is working in the CCOG?
Allow me to add that Mark recorded that Jesus said “all things” were to be restored before He returned (Mark 9:12). In addition to restoring the true list of truths that Herbert W. Armstrong stated God used him to restore to the Philadelphian portion of the Church of God, the following have been restored this century in the CCOG:
Dreams & Signs of Acts 2:17-18

God has restored truths as well as last days’ signs to people now in the CCOG–which is what would be expected to occur in the Philadelphian remnant of the Church of God.
Now back to the CCOG’s Letter to the Brethren: February 13, 2025. Here is another excerpt:
Teaching Children and Bible News Prophecy Radio
When we were in Thailand we met with Sani Mao and his wife Mary Thomas on Manipur, India.
Mary Thomas asked about our outreach to the youth.
I mentioned that we sponsored youth camps in Africa, produced animations (see CCOG Animations), have youth activities at the Feast of Tabernacles, and youth Bible lessons. We also utilize social media and platforms such as TikTok (see also Continuing Church of God Multimedia page).
She was unaware that we had youth Bible lessons, and I told her I would send lessons to she and her husband in India, so I ordered those last Friday.
In addition, notice the following sent by Shirley Gestro in New Zealand:
Dear Dr. Thiel,Bible News Prophecy Radio UpdateA new addition to the BNP Radio website: Youth Audio Bible Lessons.Narrators: Dawn Parr and Chad Branton. We continue to have our weekly radio newscasters, James Martenet who has been our regular speaker for the last several years, and Ritchie White who has come on board to help in the last several weeks (with an additional person that James is helping). John Shackleton also recorded one recently. Four interviews are done by our 2 newscasters weekly. I will email in the CCOG group for more BNP online radio volunteers and for other areas for the online radio. The website had a bit of make-over () because of the additions and other reasons.

Recently, I set it up again and tested a promotion targeting New Zealanders and Australians, which saw minimal results. I then revised the promotion to feature the BNP Radio card and expanded the audience to include several Gentile nations for about two weeks. This reminded me of Romans 11:25. The increase in link clicks has boosted the site’s traffic flow, and it is primarily Gentile nations. At a much later date, I will provide an update BNP radio station stream and Flipboard. I hope you are all okay with this and have time to watch the short videos and that you enjoy them. As the promotional testing results provide insights into what works for different platforms and audiences.I attached the Youth Audio Bible Lessons cover that was shared across social media.Kind regards,Shirley GestroIn the end time, we are to work to, “turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers” (Malachi 4:6) and many are helping to support that.
As far as reaching preaching and reaching people who are poor, notice the following which was also in the CCOG’s Letter to the Brethren: February 13, 2025:
Baptisms in Malawi
Sosten Libungwa sent the following:
Church greetings,I hope you returned safely back from the trip,in Thailand was a long trip, but great that the Lord God took you back all you three, today we conducted baptism,I have been teaching thise people over 5 months, they are good people,it’s a small church as you can see,8 candidates baptised, some were not able to come who are coming far from the church due to heavy rains,God bless you,…,this is Sosten reporting.
It is great that so many are responding. Remember that Jesus said, “there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:10). …
Building in South Sudan
Deacon Koang Deng sent the following photo and report:
Dear Dr. Bob:
Greetings to you this evening. This is the picture of our building stand there where the community in that area (South Sudan) selected to build on.Only the small part remains to be finishedThanks you all for doing this for our brothers.Best regards,Koang.Actually, the members did pretty much all the work. What we have done from the USA is to send funds for some of the building materials.
Getting back to using multiple languages to preach the gospel, notice something from the Apostle Paul:
10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of languages in the world, and none of them is without significance. 11 Therefore, if I do not know the meaning of the language, I shall be a foreigner to him who speaks, and he who speaks will be a foreigner to me. (1 Corinthians 14:10-11)
Since there are languages people do not understand (cf. Psalm 81:5), but all languages are significant, then obviously more languages than one needs to be used by the CCOG to teach.
Consider also Jesus’ words:
4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ (Luke 15:4-6)
40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ (Matthew 25:40)
We try to reach all that we can.
Notice what the Apostle Paul wrote:
6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. (2 Corinthians 9:6)
We are to sow bountifully! We are sowing by having as many languages as we can available as we prepare for the fulfillment of prophecies including Matthew 24:14.
This may also help us find the lost sheep, or more accurately, make it easier for the sheep to see the fact that we are witnessing to them and perhaps that the Father is also now looking for them (cf. John 4:23-24), in order to call them (John 6:44; Jude 1).
Notice something else the Apostle Paul wrote:
7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. (Galatians 6:7-10)
Having materials in many languages helps serve ALL as well as those who are in the household of faith.
The Bible shows that this ultimately results in followers from all over and in all languages:
8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:
“You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.” (Revelation 5:8-10)
9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” (Revelation 7:9-10)
14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed. (Daniel 7:14).
Thus, it makes sense to get materials into whatever languages God will open up to us.
Perhaps it should be pointed out that the old Radio Church of God taught that, “Blindness is happened to Israel, not forever, but until the full number of Gentiles who are to be converted in this age comes into the Kingdom. (Hoeh H. The Coming UTOPIA… Wonderful World of Tomorrow. Plain Truth, March 1957, p. 6; see also What About Romans 11:25 and the Full Number of the Gentiles?).
Having materials in multiple languages is needed so the full number of Gentiles can be converted in this age!
Yes, this age.
We are closer to the end of this age and some church needs to be working on having numerous languages–and we in the CCOG are.
John the Baptist prepared for the first coming of Jesus (Mark 1:1-7), and the Philadelphian faithful in the Church of God are preparing for His second coming–and the full number of Gentiles must come in before Jesus returns per Romans 11:25-27–Herbert W. Armstrong understood that as well (see also What About Romans 11:25 and the Full Number of the Gentiles?).
Notice that the Apostle Paul wrote:
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. (Ephesians 6:14-16)
Yes, those properly dedicated to God’s work will support the preparation for the gospel to reach others, as well as to not be turned aside by those who spew forth “the fiery darts of the wicked one.”
Remember also, that Jesus said:
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. … 33 seek first the kingdom of God Matthew 6:21,33)
Yes, we spend tithes and offering ‘treasures’ to reach and support people around the entire world.
If you are reading this, hopefully you have the right heart, the right priorities, the right focus to provide support related to the preparation of fulfilling Matthew 24:14.
Never before in the history of the Church of God has any group made so many languages/dialects of the good news of the coming kingdom of God available in anything close to the nearly 2000 languages we have and plan to increase.
Also, as we have reported before, we recently have added Bible News Prophecy International online radio. You can find this station at: https://www.bnpi.net. We started on that station with the Spanish language, but expect to add more languages for radio. More on our approaches to reach people in as many ways and languages as possible can be found on the Continuing Church of God Multimedia page.
If you want God’s kingdom to come–which is something that Jesus said you should pray for (Matthew 6:10)–you would want to support the most cost-effective ways to reach as many as possible in the world as a witness.
Satan and other critics do not want you to do so. They want you to turn aside, or at least delay, your support.
Remember Jesus warned Philadelphian Christians to let “no one … take your crown” (Revelation 3:11)–and that include critics.
The recommended sermon for this Sabbath that was listed in is: Hebrews 11-12: Faith–Yes, the Diligent are Rewarded.
That title was based on the following:
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)
Jesus marveled at the lack of faith of many who heard Him preach and did not consider Him a prophet per Mark 6:4-6.
Do not be like that today, though in this Laodicean time (Revelation 3:14-22), most will not actually accept a true prophet or the Philadelphia remnant.
Now, by posting about this, yes, I expect insults from critics who do not share the focus, vision, or the biblical priorities of the CCOG, but instead speak perverse things (Acts 20:30).
And while I am not perfect, and can be deceived–which can happen to God’s leaders (e.g. Genesis 27, Joshua 9, 1 John 2)–we in the CCOG have the broadest radio presence of any COG I am aware of (see Continuing Church of God Multimedia page), have been the fastest growing x-WCG group in the 21st century, have restored the most truth in this century (see Continuing Church of God, Elijah, and Restoring All Things), have the signs that the Apostle Peter said the end time faithful would have in Acts 2:17-18 (see Does the CCOG have the confirmed signs of Acts 2:17-18?), and have made available the good news of the kingdom of God in more languages than has ever been done since the start of the Christian church in Acts 2.
While all of those statements are true, there should be no denying that the last item is an absolute and indisputable fact.
Hopefully, like the Christians in the Book of Acts, you too will rejoice in these steps in proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God.
This past Summer, we recorded the following related video by me, which also includes some audio clips from the late Herbert W. Armstrong:
Are you a help or a hindrance for God’s kingdom to come?
What did Jesus say needed to be done before the end comes? Jesus said, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). What is something that the Continuing Church of God is doing along these lines that no group has ever done before?
Could language translation opportunities be part of the open door that Jesus gave to the Philadelphian Christians? Is the Continuing Church of God too small to lead the final phase of the work? Will it take God’s Spirit for the work to be completed? What about critics, naysayers, and accusers of the brethren? Is a “little flock” with “little strength” preparing for the short work of Romans 9:28? What about the fulness/full number of Gentiles in Romans 11:25?
The Apostle Paul wrote, “In the law it is written: ‘With men of other tongues and other lips I will speak to this people; And yet, for all that, they will not hear Me,’ says the Lord” (1 Corinthians 14:21).
Should the Philadelphian remnant of the Church put information out on the gospel of the kingdom of God in as many languages as it can? If so, what has Continuing Church of God is doing to accomplish that? According to the Apostle Paul, do all languages have significance? Jesus gave the following commission, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20)–would this not involve working to reach people in multiple languages. Jesus’ statements there as well as in Matthew 24:14?
The “phil,” as in Philadelphian Christians, means fraternal love/affection. So, in the biblical context this includes supporting the proclamation of the gospel of the kingdom of God to all that we can. This ‘Behind the Work’s video addresses these issues and more. It also includes a couple of voice clips of Herbert W. Armstrong speaking about commissions that Jesus gave the church and characteristics of true Christian supporters.
Kristy Gorman discusses progress for the Bible New Prophecy International radio channel as well as discusses areas that she would like more support for. The Continuing Church of God is going through the “open doors,” but more still needs to be done. We are trying to reach people in as many languages as we can.
Here is a link to the sermon: Behind the Work 2024: Languages for the Kingdom.
Yet, like the ministry of Jesus and John the Baptist, there are those who oppose the work and say all kinds of things against the CCOG.
The following apply to many critics who are not interested in checking out the facts:
16 The lazy man is wiser in his own eyes
Than seven men who can answer sensibly. (Proverbs 26:16)
Hopefully, you can see the biblical sense in what we are doing. Or at least you will be like the Bereans of old who, “received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so” (Acts 17:11).
Notice something that the prophet Isaiah was inspired to record:
7 Listen to Me, you who know righteousness,
You people in whose heart is My law:
Do not fear the reproach of men,
Nor be afraid of their insults. (Isaiah 51:7)
Yes, the truth is blasphemed and subject to insults from many.
However to the pure, all things are pure.
Anyway, in the Continuing Church of God, the gospel is being preached, the short work being prepared for, truth has been restored, youth outreaches are happening, we have had divine confirmation of the last days signs of Acts 2:17-18, and the poor have the gospel preached to them
As Jesus said, “seek first the kingdom of God” (Matthew 6:33), be one who “endures to the end” (Matthew 10:22), and support the Philadelphian work (cf. Revelation 3:7-13).
Hopefully, you will support the Philadelphian remnant in the CCOG to do so.
