PCG: Will This Texas Lawsuit Overturn the Presidential Election?
January 2021 edition of PCG’s Trumpet magazine
ZeroHedge posted the following:
December 11, 2020
In the US, it is still a headline-worthy Supreme Court legal battle not among the headlines. Texas, six other states, and President Trump are asking to overturn the election results in four key battleground states, and are supported by 11 red states, civic groups, an eccentric lawyer, 106 Republican members of the House of Representatives, and even senators from Georgia and representatives from Pennsylvania (two of the battlegrounds); Ohio wants the Court to rule, but only apply this from 2024. The four defendant states have filed rebuttals –one alleging “seditious abuse of the judicial process”– and are supported by 23 blue states and territories. Even the city of Detroit has filed alongside the state in which it sits. What political theatre and (very) fat tail risk. The street-wise view is also that the drama allows President Trump to continue on into another act, even if it is in another play entirely. https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/what-years-final-act-political-theater
Related to the Supreme Court filing and Donald Trump, PCG posted the following:
Will This Texas Lawsuit Overturn the Presidential Election?
December 11, 2020
United States President Donald Trump just announced that his administration is joining a lawsuit asking the Supreme Court to block four swing states from casting electoral votes for Joe Biden. “We will be INTERVENING in the Texas (plus many other states) case,” he posted to Twitter on December 9. “This is the big one. Our Country needs a victory!”
The lawsuit is led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court on December 7 to invalidate the election certifications of Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. He argues that these states’ expansion of mail-in voting operations was never approved by state legislatures and is therefore illegal and invalidates the results. He is requesting that the Supreme Court order these states’ presidential electors to be chosen by the state legislatures. …
Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry’s cover story for the January 2021 Trumpet issue is titled “Why Donald Trump Will Remain America’s President.” It explains that President Trump will remain in office because of Bible prophecies in 2 Kings 14 and Amos 7. (Please read this article if you have not already done so!) It also makes the case that the Supreme Court is likely going to intervene in the election crisis to uphold the rule of law in America.
“Justice Barrett’s nomination could prove decisive in this election and to Mr. Trump remaining president!” Mr. Flurry wrote. “After the election, attorneys across America, including Mr. Trump’s lawyers, filed lawsuits in several states alleging voter fraud. It is likely that some of these cases will end up in the Supreme Court. I don’t know, but I would think the Supreme Court is going to have to rule on this election eventually. The fact that Justice Barrett will be there when that happens increases the odds that the law will be upheld!”
As President Trump put it, Texas v. Pennsylvania, et al may end up being “the big one”! https://www.thetrumpet.com/23272-will-this-texas-lawsuit-overturn-the-presidential-election
PCG keeps ‘doubling down’ on the view that Donald Trump must remain in office, essentially because Gerald Flurry believes he is a “modern day Jeroboam” and he wrote the following:
Donald Trump Is Going to Win This Election
November 9. 2020
This past Friday night, Joe Biden held a big parade and made a victory speech. Saturday, the American news media decided to declare him the winner of the election and the president-elect of the United States.
It does appear strongly that this man will be America’s next president. But I absolutely do not believe that at all. Regardless of how things look right now, I am confident that Donald Trump will remain president. …
Unfulfilled Prophecies
The Trumpet has been explaining biblical prophecies that apply to Donald Trump and to America—specific end-time prophecies that must be and will be fulfilled.
We have shown how President Trump is here to stop the destructive spirit that is working to destroy America. …
But looking at this modern-day Jeroboam, you have to say God gave Israel a “savior”—at least to the extent that He wouldn’t let these enemies bring down the nation. He has been blocking this movement to “blot out the name of Israel [which includes America] from under heaven.”
And is his job finished? No, it isn’t. So I don’t believe at all that he is going to disappear from the scene!
The Trumpet has also pointed to a prophecy in Amos 7 that tells us a lot about this end-time Jeroboam. None of that prophecy has yet been fulfilled—but we can be sure that it will be, and President Trump must be in power for this to take place. God is going to fulfill every prophecy of His Bible! …
Donald Trump certainly has his problems, and God sees those—but He chose him as a savior—temporarily—for this nation! https://www.thetrumpet.com/23137-donald-trump-is-going-to-win-this-election
While God will fulfill every prophecy of His Bible, Gerald Flurry has a history of misunderstanding and misinterpreting biblical prophecies. This does not mean is it not possible for Donald Trump to remain in office, but not because of Gerald Flurry’s view of Amos 7.
That being said, we will see if the legal challenges, etc. will change the electoral votes and Donald Trump will remain in office.
Whether he does or not, PCG’s assertions are not biblically-based, nor do I believe that God led them to their conclusions.
CGFF’s Alton ‘Don’ Billingsley also has insisted that Donald Trump will remain in office (see CGFF and PCG have distorted logic as to why they assert Donald Trump will remain President of the United States), yet then get replaced by Hillary Clinton (see CGFF’s Alton Billingsley again projects Hillary Clinton as President of the USA, but let’s also look at what he wrote before).
Neither CGFF and PCG are Philadelphian (see also The Philadelphia Church Era)–and they do NOT hold the Philadelphian mantle (see also Herbert W. Armstrong, the Philadelphia Church, & the Mantle). Furthermore, they also simply do not have the confirmed prophetic signs of Acts 2:17-18. Nor do the Laodicean churches who God has not chosen to significantly have the confirmed prophetic signs of Acts 2:17-18. Many Laodiceans (though not referring to themselves that way) seem to think that those who have not prophesied are ‘safer’ than those who have prophesied falsely–and while in a sense that is true, Jesus warned about those who buried their talents because they were afraid to boldly do the work in Matthew 25:24-30. In the end times, many Christians are not sufficiently profitable servants (cf. Revelation 3:-14-22)–not just those who have been deceived to follow false prophets, but also those who have deceived themselves to not support any true ones.
Let me state that several Protestant “prophets” (Kat Kerr is one of them) have declared that God/The Spirit/Something told them that Donald Trump will win despite what the current situation looks like.
If Donald Trump does stay in office, those making assertions will insist that God told them and they were speaking for Him. My view, which I have shared with several people personally, is that if Donald Trump remains in office, it is possible that the demons knew some important details about the election and they passed their conclusions on to some people.
On the other hand, if Donald Trump does not remain in office, this will be a major embarrassment, and another proven false prediction by PCG’s Gerald Flurry (to cite a couple, he first wrongly identified Joe Tkach as the ‘man of sin,’ then Joe Tkach, Jr., whereas neither of them can be; he also has improper identified Vladimir Putin as the Prince of Rosh–see PCG: Teachings Unique to the Philadelphia Church of God). And then he will apparently come up with some explanation, perhaps related to Donald Trump winning in 2024, to try to detract from his errors on the 2020 election. While many there might tolerate that, some likely will finally see the light of truth under that scenario.
UPDATE 1600: Two hours after posting the above, I learned that tThe Supreme Court chose not to hear the case from Texas regarding the election:
December 11, 2020
The Supreme Court on Friday tossed a last-minute bid by the state of Texas to overturn the 2020 election by challenging the results of four battleground states.
Citing a lack of standing, Justice Samuel Alito wrote in a brief order that the state “has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections,” adding “All other pending motions are dismissed as moot.” https://www.zerohedge.com/political/supreme-court-tosses-texas-bid-overturn-election
Related to the election, etc., all should pray as Jesus taught that God’s Kingdom will come and His will be done (Matthew 6:10).
