1:16:591 Peter: Humbly love, God’s plan is eternal
This sermon covers the First Epistle of Peter, which was written c. 63. Did Peter write this from Rome or Babylon? Dr. Thiel covers each and every verse of this book, explains that the Church of God, via Polycarp, but not the Church of Rome, accepted it from the beginning. In addition to comments, accompanying scriptures, and insights related to various verse, Dr. Thiel also sometimes cites Radio Church of God, Worldwide Church of God, and other commentaries. 1 Peter tells us to rely on God, to understand that all flesh is grass–it is temporary, that God has an eternal plan, and that we are not to allow Satan, the world, or various lusts to get in the way of obeying God. Peter teaches that if we will humble ourselves, submit to God, love & be kind to others, resist Satan, live humbly as a true Christian, even though others may speak against us, that we can have eternal glory. Dr. Thiel also goes over various passages in the Bible related to suffering and perfection.
