Victoria Should Not Make Her ‘Secrets’ Public

CBS had a brief series related to nearly naked models wearing mainly skimpy underwear, called “The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” according to a news article that I read (it is not a program which I have watched).

This is just something that should not be done. But “love of money is a root all kinds of evil” (1 Timothy 6:10), so “respected” media like CBS can often be prostituted in this age. CBS should know better.

Of course, there are other networks with similar content and there is also a relatively new show on TLC (the name of which I will not mention here) that seems even worse (of course, existing and past television programs have problems, and sadly their “acceptance” has led to these recent two, which will probably set the stage for others to be even more morally worse).

Of course, it is not only networks that are at fault as neither should any female “celebrities” intentionally wear sexually provocative outfits nor make statements which promote anti-biblical morality messages (Matthew 5:27-28; cf. Luke 17:1-2)–nor should male celebrities.

Americans, and others, should know this is wrong. What is generally now considered to be “soft porn” is still sinful.

4 Thus says the Lord: “For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment, Because they have despised the law of the Lord, And have not kept His commandments. Their lies lead them astray, Lies which their fathers followed. 5 But I will send a fire upon Judah, And it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.”(Amos 2:4-5)

Soft porn is a lie. The “models’ try to act seductively, but have no love for those that they are engaging in public sensual flirtation with.

The U.S.A. should be concerned, because the New Testament clearly teaches:

48 For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required (Luke 12:48).

The U.S.A. and its Anglo-allies have been given much. Notice the three “most sinful nations” according to a BBC report:

BBC Focus magazine recently analyzed the world’s nations according to the classic ‘seven deadly sins’—lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride. What nation was measured as most sinful? The United Kingdom was 6th on the above list. And while one can argue if other nations should have been ahead of them on a sin-list, the reality is that the Anglo-nations promote a lot of sin. And they accept more and more sin.

Of course, pornography itself is a big business and causes a variety of problems, such as the fact that it hurts families as well as society in general. It also hurts those who watch and who provide it. CBS and other networks should not promote it.
