Twitter has suspended Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s account for 12 hours after saying she posted tweets violating its policy on sharing misleading information about COVID-19.
The company said the Georgia Republican’s account was to be suspended on Tuesday after she posted tweets Sunday and Monday that the company said contained misinformation about the disease and vaccines, …
Twitter suspended Green’s account on Monday and said the block would be lifted Tuesday. The site left the posts in question online, but tagged them as containing misinformation about the disease and vaccines and gave a link for information from health officials. …
In one of the tweets, posted early Monday, Greene argued that COVID-19 is not dangerous for people younger than the age of 65 who are not obese and said vaccines should not be required. …
The other tweet was posted on Sunday when Greene argued that no entity should “force NON-FDA approved vaccines or masks” but should “instead help people protect their health by defeating obesity, which will protect them from covid complications & death, and many other health problems. We should invest in health, not human experimentation.”

So, a US Congresswoman posted her opinions, which were inline with actual health science, and was suspended for a time and warnings put up that what she posted was “misinformation.”
The truth is that for people below age 65 that are not obese, COVID-19 mortality is inline with seasonal flus. Furthermore, the USA has a major problem with obesity and better dealing with that would save lives.
And yes, the FDA only granted emergency experimental approval for the three COVID-19 vaccines that are available in the USA.
Yet, Twitter has declared telling aspects of truth as misinformation.
The USA is supposed to stand for freedom of speech and the press, according to the first amendment to its constitution, and initially Twitter claimed it stood for that.
But no more.

Microsoft President Brad Smith says that the dystopian world depicted by George Orwell in his novel “1984” — where totalitarian surveillance was a part of life — could soon become a reality, What’s more, it may be as early as 2024, if artificial intelligence (AI) is not regulated better, he suggests. Published in 1949, in the novel, Orwell had explored themes such as government surveillance, totalitarianism and how a dictator can manipulate and control lives by knowing what people are doing and saying at all times. Smith is worried that if we adopt the kind of AI once only imagined in such dystopian novels, the complete control of a nation under a totalitarian regime is absolutely possible.
Orwell’s “1984,” where citizens lived under the constant threat of surveillance and censorship, not only infiltrated the consciousness of thousands of people, but also gave rise to phrases and concepts — Big Brother, Thought Police, Room 101 — that are recognised and relevant even today as signs of a nightmarish future.
Smith, while speaking to BBC during a programme that explores China’s increasing use of AI to monitor its citizens said, “I’m constantly reminded of George Orwell’s lessons in his book ‘1984.’ You know the fundamental story was about a government who could see everything that everyone did and hear everything that everyone said all the time. Well, that didn’t come to pass in 1984, but if we’re not careful that could come to pass in 2024.”

Let it be perfectly clear, governments WILL NOT take steps to prevent a coming totalitarian world.

In his book 1984, the society George Orwell also warned about had surveillance cameras all over and they recognized individual people. What is starting to happen now is actually more widespread than his book warned about. There will be even more surveillance than George Orwell anticipated.
The old Worldwide Church of God once, correctly, taught that the reason that the Philadelphian work of God was based out of the USA was because it was the nation that most valued freedom of speech and freedom of the press. Notice something it published about that back in 1981:
THE MOST important work in the world cannot be done without freedom of the press!
What is that work?
It is the work of announcing that God will restore His Government to the whole earth! But before the Government of God is restored, it must first be announced! The good news of that announcement — the Gospel of the Kingdom of God — must be preached (Matthew 24:14) to all nations (Matthew 28:19). And the nations must choose whether they will want it or resist it.
In this day, God has made the MASS media available to accomplish His work. But reaching a mass audience with the good news of God’s soon-coming Government requires the freedom to PUBLISH. Notice Mark 13:10: “And the gospel must first be published among all nations.” …
Governmental Reaction
And yet while the Bible places a duty on God’s servants, it also warns that this world — even now and in the future — will not always allow the freedom to publish.
In the past a government’s excuse for persecution was that God’s message IS TOO DISTURBING to be allowed to circulate freely. …
For the future, the Bible prophecy reveals that the time will come when most of this world’s nations will be led by Satan to abolish freedom of the press — and all related freedoms. Why? To prevent any publishing of God’s message from reaching any substantial number of people!
`Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: and they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it” (Amos 8:11-12).
Elsewhere the Bible reveals how this prophesied press clampdown will take place. Revelation 13 describes a great religious-civil power that will arise in the place of the old Roman Empire. This prophesied power will not allow free speech, a free press or the free exercise of any religion — except the official religion of the state.
Why Free Press Important
The Gospel is the good news of a government that will REPLACE the governments of this world. Yet replace is a mild word! The prophet Daniel flatly declares that the Government of God will “break in pieces and consume” the nations of this world that resist Him (Daniel 2:44).
The Gospel of the Kingdom of God proclaims that there is a higher power than human government, another and divine government to whom men, whether they know it or not, ultimately owe allegiance. For this reason early Christians were accused of doing “contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus” (Acts 17:7).
No wonder the governments of this world have historically sought to suppress the publishing of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God — for it is ultimately the news of their overthrow by Christ at His return! …
Even if false ideas circulate under freedom of the press, at least God’s Word will also be able to go out unhindered.
Free societies pay a very high price for freedom of the press — pornography circulates freely because human courts say they can’t really tell the difference between pornography and other kinds of writing or expression. This is a very high price — but at least it does insure the free circulation of God’s truth, as well as other religious ideas.
If you grant human government the authority to censor what is printed or spoken, you allow the government to stop any message it doesn’t approve of.
Government tried to suppress Elijah, Amos and Jeremiah; it is prophesied to suppress God’s true Gospel again in the future. The power to censor bad writing easily becomes the power to suppress good writing.
There is a reason why God began, and based, his end-time work in the country on earth where freedom of the press is greatest — and why God’s Church has grown the most, as a rule, in countries where press freedom is substantial. Since the spreading of God’s Word is the most important activity on earth — the preservation of freedom of the press is one of the most awesome responsibilities God lays on human government. The Philadelphia portion of the Church of God did begin in the USA and its most faithful remnant is still based out of the USA.
But now, in the USA as well as outside of it, we are seeing more and more calls for restrictions and censorship.

On July 20, in Ostroleka, this conservative legal organization is to open the first of at least six lawsuits against four LGBTQ activists. The lawsuit accuses the founders of The Atlas of Hate website of slander for falsely accusing municipalities of LGBTQ discrimination over their so-called Family Rights Charters.
“There is not a single word about LGBT people in the charter, and the acronym does not even appear,” Bernaciak argues. …
Using ‘family values’ to gaslight the activists
In his interview with DW, Nikodem Bernaciak defended the charters, saying they seek only to protect families.
But since LGBTQ people cannot legally form a family because gay marriage is illegal in Poland, the promotion of such values can be seen as concealed discrimination. …
Understanding why Polish society is hostile towards LGBTQ people is complex, but Aleks Szczerbiak, a professor of politics in the UK and expert on Polish affairs, says religion is still a key influence on political ideology.
“I would say that the social conservatism in provincial small-town Poland is informed by their religiosity and the teaching of the Catholic Church. So, was it acceptable for the LGBTQ+ to claim that by supporting families and not specifically condemning LGBTQ+ people that is concealed discrimination. Because people go to church, that is seemingly supposed to be considered as possible prima facie evidence of concealed discrimination.
It originally was that only those that advocated terrorism, physical violence, or pedophilia were censored. Now they are moving against “concealed discrimination”–that is evidence that even suspected anti-LGBTQ+ thoughts are hoped to be stopped by Big Tech and government censors.
In some circles now, including many in Hollywood, if you will not be an LGBTQ+ advocate, you are considered to be guilty of hate and/or LGBTQ+ suppression.
What must the LGBTQ+ promoters think of the Bible then, which specifically condemns LGBTQ+ issues? They do not like that the Bible teaches that even condoning, without participating in, LGBTQ+ activities is wrong and deserving of death (Romans 1:18-32).
Well, the LGBTQ+ crowd consider the Bible to be a “weapon” that has been used against them–and they do not want certain parts of it quoted.
As it turns out, the New Testament actually does state that the Bible is basically a weapon:
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:12-13)
Many are afraid to hear the word of God quoted on aspects of truth and morality–yes all will have to give an account. The Bible is a ‘weapon,’ not to harm them, but to help them.
Yet, more and more publicly despise the word of God and do not want it, as well as certain prophecies within it, taught.
Isaiah was inspired to record the following:
8 Now go, write it before them on a tablet, And note it on a scroll, That it may be for time to come, Forever and ever:
9 That this is a rebellious people, Lying children, Children who will not hear the law of the Lord; 10 Who say to the seers, “Do not see,” And to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things; Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits. 11 Get out of the way, Turn aside from the path, Cause the Holy One of Israel To cease from before us.”
12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel:
“Because you despise this word, And trust in oppression and perversity, And rely on them, 13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you Like a breach ready to fall, A bulge in a high wall, Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant. (Isaiah 30:8-13)
There are severe consequences prophesied against those that despise the word of God.
Furthermore, the Bible prophesies a time when a ‘famine of the word’ is coming (Amos 8:11-12, see also Preparing for the ‘Short Work’ and The Famine of the Word). We are seeing more and more attacks on the Bible from many quarters.
Truly, as the Apostle Paul wrote, “evil men and impostors” have grown “worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13).
Loss of freedom to get the truth out related to the word of God was prophesied:
11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God,
“That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the Lord.
12 They shall wander from sea to sea,
And from north to east;
They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord,
But shall not find it. (Amos 8:11-12)
Notice that the Bible tells of a time that will come when the word of God will not be found. I do not believe that this means that there will be no more Bibles–but that those wanting to better understand it will have trouble finding explanations.
I have warned for years that government pressures/regulations of the Internet would result in the fulfillment of Amos 8:11-12.
I still stand by that position and we keep seeing censorship and steps to make more happen.
The ONLY real hope is not new government regulations about AI, but the return of Jesus and the good news of the coming Kingdom of God.
