‘2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect’ Now in Brazilian Portuguese

My book 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect is now available in Brazilian Portuguese. It was translated by Eliabe Ribeiro Vidal who lives in Brazil.

The book is also available in the English, Spanish, and German languages, as well as continental Portuguese.

Now perhaps I should mention how I ended up with a translation into Portuguese as well as the Brazilian version of the language. Mario Hernandez of the Living Church of God put me in contact with Carlos Duarte in Lisbon, Portugual. I contacted Carlos Duarte who agreed to translate the book for me. I later learned that Portuguese in Brazil is sufficiently different that it might make sense to have a Brazilian edition. Essentially out of the blue, I was contacted by Eliabe Ribeiro Vidal related to some research he had been doing. Although we have never met (I have never been to his home state) nor spoken, he agreed to translate the Portuguese edition into Brazilian Portuguese (plus I sent him the English version so he could use that as well). Since Eliabe Ribeiro Vidal had no Church of God background, Graham Davies (who used to handle much of the Portuguese language work in the old WCG) graciously agreed to review a few chapters to insure that various details were properly interpreted and translated. Once everything was in order, I contacted Lightning Source and ordered some copies. Lightning Source also listed the book with Amazon.com (and the Brazilian edition is available there at 2012 e o Surgimento da Seita Secreta (Edição em português do Brasil). Anyway, since Amazon.com does not ship to Brazil (and most people who read that version of Portuguese live there, we were able to get a PayPal link that allowed the book to be shipped to Brazil or pretty much everywhere else (though shipping costs to Brazil are an issue–but at least the book is available).

As an LCG supporter, I am trying to reach as many people as I can to get the warning message (cf. Ezekiel 3:17–19) and the true gospel of the kingdom out (cf. Matthew 24:14; 28:19-20). I firmly believe that we in the Living Church of God have “a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed” (2 Peter 1:19, KJV).

How sure?

Since the biblically-based book was originally written, world events have already begun to align themselves with at least 16 predictions in the book. And more will also come to pass.

Mas em novembro de 2009, Aviation Week reportou que o líder do Comando Estratégico dos EUA, General da Aeronáutica, Kevin Chilton “diz que tão poucos satélites estão preparados agora para lançamento em missões críticas – como observação climática ou de alerta de mísseis balísticos – que há o risco de falhas no serviço que poderiam prejudicar a habilidade militar de realizar sua tarefa” (Butler A. U.S. Satellite Coverage Gaps Loom.
