The far-right, anti-immigrant Sweden Democrats (SD) party overtook the main right-wing opposition party in the polls on Monday ahead of the parliamentary elections on 11 September, becoming Sweden’s second largest party general elections in September, Euroactiv reported.
According to the latest opinion poll from SVT/Novus, the Sweden Democrats are now the main challengers of Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson’s incumbent Social Democrats currently leading a minority government.
Sweden Democrats stood at 21.5%, compared to the Moderate’s 17.4%, pitting the eurosceptic party only behind the ruling Social Democrats, who stood at 27.8%.
Pressed about his prime ministerial prospects, SD leader Jimmie Åkesson said he does not want to make any announcements before the election. …
The ruling Social Democrats, the Green Party, the Left Party and the Centre Party are predicted to gain 49.6% of the votes. In contrast, the right-wing Moderates, the Christian Democrats, the Liberals and the far-right Sweden Democrats are polling at 49.3%.
“I don’t think I should have to sit and draw any red lines about what the government should look like at the moment. We’ll have to decide that after the elections. Well, Sweden has taken steps to join NATO (see VOA: NATO Talks for Finland, Sweden on ‘Good Track’ & Neutral Switzerland Leans Closer to NATO in Response to Russia) and while I do not believe that Sweden will now pull out of the EU because of its ‘Euroskeptic party’, there long have been concerns about how its government has handled immigration.

In Sweden, crucial societal issues, such as who is behind the current crime epidemic, are a public taboo. Swedish authorities have only published statistics about the ethnic backgrounds of criminals twice: in 1996 and in 2005. In 2017, Minister of Justice Morgan Johansson — who is also Minister of Justice and Migration in the current Swedish government — refused to publish statistics about the ethnic origins of criminals in Sweden. “So the political conclusions that I need to make, I can already make with existing international and Swedish studies,” he said at the time.
The majority of the political parties in the Swedish parliament agreed with him. They said they did not think such a statistic was needed.
This summer, nevertheless, a private foundation, Det Goda Samhället (“The Good Society”) published a report, based on statistics from Swedish authorities. The report showed:
“For the first time now, more crimes — in absolute terms — are committed by persons of foreign background than by persons of Swedish origin…The most crime-prone population subgroup are people born [in Sweden] to two foreign-born parents”.
The mainstream Swedish media, however, largely ignored the privately published report.

The former CEO of trucking company Scania has warned that Sweden is heading towards civil war due to uncontrolled mass immigration.
In an interview with Swebbtv, businessman Leif Östling said that the arrival of so many new migrants who have failed to integrate into Swedish society is creating a fertile ground for violent unrest.
“We’ve taken in far too many people from outside. And we have. Those who come from the Middle East and Africa live in a society that we left almost a hundred years ago,” he said.
Explosions and grenade attacks have skyrocketed in many Swedish cities, with much of the unrest being blamed on migrant gangs. Sexual assaults and violent crime is also on the rise. …

Sweden is preparing for war with Russia.
Not by mobilising its armed forces, but by teaching its people how they can survive a Russian invasion.
A leaflet titled If War Comes is to be distributed to the Nordic country’s 4.7 million households. It’s a modernised version of a pamphlet that was first issued in 1943, and contains instructions about civil defence measures, which belongings to take in an evacuation and how to use gas masks, among other vital information.
“People need to learn and know about how to deal with it,” Christina Andersson of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency told local media.

Sweden Is Preparing For A “Civil War”: PM Wants To Deploy Army In No-Go Zones
For the first time since World War II, Sweden is preparing to distribute a civil defense brochure to some 4.7 million households, warning them about the onset of war.
The booklet will serve as a manual of “total defense” in case of a war, and provide details on how to secure basic needs such as water, food, and heating, the FT reported. The manual also covers other threats such as cyber attacks, terrorism, and climate change.
“All of society needs to be prepared for conflict, not just the military. We haven’t been using words such as total defense or high alert for 25-30 years or more. So the knowledge among citizens is very low,” said Christina Andersson, head of the project at the Swedish civil contingencies agency.
The survivalist manual or better known by some as a preppers guide is called “If Crisis or War Comes,” will be published by the government in late spring. Its publication comes at a time when the threat of war from Russia is high, well, possibly, but that is what the mainstream media has conditioned many to believe.
What if the threat is not from Russia, but one that is domestic?
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said that Sweden would do whatever it takes, including sending in the army, to end the wave of gang violence situated in the no-go zones around the country. Sweden’s murder rate has been relatively low over the years, but thanks to the migrant crisis, police are powerless in many areas across the country.
“It’s not my first action to put in a military, but I’m prepared to do what it takes to ensure that the seriously organized crime goes away,” Lofven said after the party leadership discussion in parliament.
“But it is also obvious that there are social problems. Last year 300 shootings occurred, 40 people were killed. The new year has begun with new launches. We see criminals with total lack of respect for human life, it’s a terrible development I’m determined to turn around,” he added.
Even the Swedish Democrat leader Jimmie Akesson “declared war” against organized crime and suggested that Sweden should deploy the military to no-go zones to counter the out of control violence.
“People are shot to death in pizza restaurants, people are killed by hand grenades they find on the street,” Akesson said in parliament on Wednesday.

It is not only Russia, but gangs, and apparently immigrants, that are behind some decisions that the Swedish government is now taking.
The rising of the Sweden Democrats party may result in civil unrest by migrants in Sweden.
I have been warning for years at this news page that civil war may be expected to come to Europe.
At this news page, I first reported that we may see civil unrest in Europe on November 3, 2007. And back in September 2010, I posted:

We are seeing Islamic immigration issues raising concerns throughout Europe, and this is not done yet.

When my wife and I were in Sweden several years ago, we heard first hand that Swedes have concerns about what to do with the Islamic immigrants. Now, more look to be backing politicians seem to be more open about it.
