AP: France says Australia-US submarine deal ‘huge mistake’

Australia has called the USA its “forever” military partner related to the new nuclear deal, also involving the UK, called AUKUS:

Under the deal, the U.S. will help Australia build at least eight nuclear-powered submarines during the next 20 years to replace its current fleet of six diesel-powered subs.

This is the first time since 1958 that the United States has shared its nuclear submarine technology, having only ever previously shared it with the United Kingdom. The deal is the highlight of a surprise trilateral security partnership, called AUKUS, announced among Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States by the three countries’ leaders Thursday.

Dubbed a “forever partnership” by Australia’s conservative Prime Minister Scott Morrison, the pact comes amid high tensions between Australia and China,

As I have warned here for years, the time will come when the USA will be conquered by the European King of the North per Daniel 11:39 (see ). The USA will NOT be able to defend Australia, and Australia will be takeover as well.

The AUKUS deal is another step pushing the USA, UK, and Australia closer together, while incensing the Europeans against them.

CANBERRA, Australia (AP) — France’s ambassador to Australia has described as a “huge mistake” Australia’s surprise cancellation of a major submarine contract in favor of a U.S. deal, as the diplomat prepared to leave the country in an unprecedented show of anger among the allies.

French envoy Jean-Pierre Thebault delivered his comments Saturday as he left his residence in the capital of Canberra.

“This has been a huge mistake, a very, very bad handling of the partnership,” Thebault said, explaining that the arms agreement between Paris and Canberra was supposed to be based “on trust, mutual understanding and sincerity.”

Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said in a written statement Friday that the move “is justified by the exceptional seriousness” of the matter.

He said the decision by President Emmanuel Macron followed “unacceptable behavior between allies and partners.”

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, who had described the pact as a “stab in the back”, said the ambassadors were being recalled at the request of President Emmanuel Macron.

The deal “constitute[s] unacceptable behaviour between allies and partners whose consequences directly affect the vision we have of our alliances, of our partnerships and of the importance of the Indo-Pacific for Europe”, Mr Le Drian said. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-58604677

And while France has condemned the Australia-UK-US security pact as a “stab in the back”, it is certainly awkward for the European Union too.

Firstly, because not only were they not in the room for discussions, they barely seemed to know the room existed.

Josep Borrell is the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy …admitted he was not exactly “glad” at how the timings had clashed but also declared it was a wake-up call for Europe, that they had to take the initiative.

But that leads to a second awkwardness. How?

What’s more, the release of the strategy document was also greatly overshadowed by speeches made in Brussels and Washington the previous day.

On Wednesday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen used her annual State of the European Union parliamentary speech to appeal for greater strategic autonomy for the bloc, which the French government has strongly backed for years. But other member states, as well as some leading EU officials, have pushed against this stance.

“Europe can — and clearly should — be able and willing to do more on its own … What we need is the European Defense Union,” von der Leyen said, referring to calls from some European countries for a unified defense strategy and possibly joint military force between the 27 member states.

Biden’s apparent indifference to AUKUS deal’s impact on France fueling fury, experts say

President Joe Biden’s new deal to help Australia launch nuclear-powered submarines may have strengthened one alliance in an effort to counter China.

But for France — which on Friday recalled its ambassadors to the United States — the move might have torpedoed what little trust had been rebuilt after four years under former President Donald Trump, experts said.

As Biden celebrated the new AUKUS pact with Australia and Britain on Thursday, French officials expressed outrage over the deal, which brought that nation’s 2016 agreement to build submarines for Australia to an abrupt end.

“France’s position for a very long time … has been to say that the U.S. is an ally, but the U.S. is pivoting away from Europe and cannot fully be trusted,” said Georgina Wright, head of the Europe Program at Institut Montaigne, a nonprofit transpartisan think tank based in Paris.

Now, France can feel vindicated in that stance, she said, with Biden proving that “when (the United States) makes a decision, they will go ahead with it and they won’t think twice about their allies.” …

The Europeans were already angry about the Snowden leaks during the Obama-Biden Administration, their exclusion from the Five Eyes alliance (which is the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand), and the fact of Donald Trump’s presidency.

I suspect that the French consider that the Biden-Harris Administration’s handling of the AUKUS matter was arrogant and something allies should not do.

The USA will turn the Europeans from friends/allies to enemies.

While many in the USA are indifferent to this, as they believe that the USA cannot be defeated, they are overlooking/not understanding the following biblical prophecies:

39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain (Daniel 11:39).

1 How lonely sits the city
That was full of people!
How like a widow is she,
Who was great among the nations!
The princess among the provinces
Has become a slave!

2 She weeps bitterly in the night,
Her tears are on her cheeks;

The “He” in Daniel 11:39 is the European King of the North (Daniel 11:40; watch also Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?). The strongest fortresses in the 21st century currently belong to the USA (see also )–but notice that the place with the strongest fortresses gets defeated. Furthermore, the city Washington, D.C. is considered to be “great among the nations.” Notice that it is those that were its “friends” who become its enemies. The Biden-Harris Administration, like the Trump and Obama Administrations before it, are pushing the Europeans away–turning friends into enemies.

Angering the French and not consulting the European Union about this has not endeared the UK, USA, or Australia with the Europeans. Of course, not did Brexit by the UK.

The Bible shows that the coming European Beast power will have “a great army” (Daniel 11:24), “many ships” (Daniel 11:40), and will be such a military power that “all the world marveled and followed the beast” (Revelation 13:3-4).

What is happening will not end well for the USA nor its British-descended allies.

On November 9, 2018, US President Donald Trump called that an insult, but the next day said that the USA wanted “a very strong Europe.” Emmanuel Macron referred to Donald Trump as “my friend” and indicated a desire to strengthen Europe’s military spending. In December 2017, 25 European nations agreed to be part of a military alliance called PESCO. Europe also has NATO and IEI. Will Europe end up with “a great army”?
