WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump withdrew the U.S. from the landmark nuclear accord with Iran, abruptly restoring harsh sanctions in the most consequential foreign policy action of his presidency. He declared he was making the world safer, but he also deepened his isolation on the world stage and revived doubts about American credibility. …U.S. allies in Europe had tried to keep him in and lamented his move to abandon it. Iran’s leader ominously warned his country might “start enriching uranium more than before.”
The sanctions seek to punish Iran for its nuclear program by limiting its ability to sell oil or do business overseas, affecting a wide range of Iranian economic sectors and individuals. …
Former President Barack Obama, whose administration negotiated the deal, called Trump’s action “misguided” and said, “The consistent flouting of agreements that our country is a party to risks eroding America’s credibility and puts us at odds with the world’s major powers.”
Yet nations like Israel and Saudi Arabia that loathed the deal saw the action as a sign the United States is returning to a more skeptical, less trusting approach to dealing with adversaries.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed Trump’s announcement as a “historic move.” …

Europe must make Trump pay for wrecking the Iran nuclear deal

Donald Trump’s torpedoing of the Iran nuclear deal on highly specious and misleading grounds is an act of wanton diplomatic vandalism fraught with dangers. …
Trump’s short-sighted folly, far from being unprecedented, is entirely consistent with a long history of similarly disastrous Middle East policy missteps by previous US presidents. …
Know-nothing Trump is the direct heir to this grim litany of catastrophic presidential blundering. But that is not to say Britain and Europe should tolerate yet another avoidable Middle East disaster wrought in Washington. Just as Russia has been told certain actions are unacceptable and incur painful consequences if not reversed, so too should the US.
The European allies must, by all available means, undercut, circumvent and subvert Trump’s attempt to wreck the Iran deal. Closer ties should be pursued with Tehran, while escalating, punitive diplomatic and economic sanctions are levelled at Washington. Joint action should also be taken to censure the US at the UN. May 9, 2018Iranian lawmakers shouted “death to America” and set fire to a paper U.S. flag during angry scenes at the country’s parliament in Tehran, a day after President Trump pulled out of the nuclear deal.
The protest came as Iranian officials, including parliament speaker Ali Larijani and President Hassan Rouhani, said Wednesday they hoped European leaders will work with them to preserve the deal between Tehran and world powers — without the U.S. — but stressed that the nation could now decide to resume its nuclear program.
“If necessary, we can begin our industrial enrichment without any limitations,” the Iranian leader said. “Until implementation of this decision, we will wait for some weeks and will talk with our friends and allies and other signatories of the nuclear deal, who signed it and who will remain loyal to it. Everything depends on our national interests.”
Iran’s supreme leader, who has the final say on all state matters, struck a more defiant tone. … Larijani, according to the Iranian Students’ News Agency, said Trump lacked “mental capacity.”
European diplomats meanwhile insisted that the 2015 accord would not suddenly collapse despite the U.S.’s withdrawal. Hans Dietmar Schweisgut, the European Union’s representative to China said Wednesday during a press briefing in Beijing that the EU strongly believes “that this is an agreement which belongs to the international community. While some praised the president for turning his back on a “flawed” deal, others argued that Trump’s decision itself undermines the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), concluded in 2015 after years of negotiation, and raises uncertainty not only between the US and Iran but also between transatlantic allies.
The French Foreign Ministry announced Wednesday that representatives from France, Germany, and the UK — all signatory nations of the nuclear deal — would meet with Iranian representatives next Monday.
Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said that Germany, France and the UK would speak with one voice on the Iran accord: “We remain committed to the nuclear deal,” he said in Berlin on Wednesday. “The deal is working. We want to keep the controls and transparency rules in place,” he added.
Maas also called on Iran to continue to act calmly and fulfill the obligations laid out in the deal.
The German minister said that Trump’s decision was “incomprehensible” and had dealt a blow to stability in the Middle East. …
Russia, which also helped negotiate the Iran deal, said it was “deeply disappointed” by Trump’s unilateral decision.
Federica Mogherini, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, who helps supervise the way Iran and the six world powers implement the deal and settle any disputes, said in a press statement on Tuesday that the deal “is not in the hands of a single country.”
“The European Union is determined to act in accordance with its security interests and to protect its economic investments,” she said. In a message directed at Iran, Mogherini said: “Do not let anyone dismantle this agreement. It is one of the biggest achievements diplomacy has ever delivered, and we have built this together.” …
Israel is a close ally of the United States and Netanyahu has been in favor of scrapping the deal. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, two other US allies, also praised Trump’s announcement.
“Iran used economic gains from the lifting of sanctions to continue its activities to destabilise the region, particularly by developing ballistic missiles and supporting terrorist groups in the region,” the Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Europe is getting more and more frustrated with the USA and its President Donald Trump. Europeans want the USA to suffer for this.

European officials insist they will continue to observe the agreement, reminding Iran it must do the same. …
Lack of accord between US and EU

Notice that this is being portrayed as a terrible betrayal of European allies.
Donald Trump makes a good ‘foil’ for many in Europe. While the USA will retain its Anglo-Saxon allies for a time, it will ultimately not be first and essentially will be alone in time (cf. Hosea 13:16, KJV; Spiritual Samaritans: Old and New).
As far as Iran goes, two years ago it stated that the deal would not stop its nuclear ambitions (see Iran rejects long-term limits on it nuclear ambitions). Whether Donald Trump’s comments will accelerate its ambitions is an open question.
Yet, irrespective of what Iran does, the Bible shows that change will come to Europe.
While China may or may not become more dictatorial as the Economist suggests, the Bible shows that a reorganization will come to Europe and power will be given to a dictator there:
12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)

Currently, the Europeans are essentially acting like they are the ones who want peace.
Interestingly, the Bible shows that the European beast leader, also called the King of the North, will arise promising peace:
21 And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. 22 With the force of a flood they shall be swept away from before him and be broken, and also the prince of the covenant. 23 And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people. (Daniel 11:21-23, NKJV)
25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. (Daniel 8:25, KJV).
More and more in Europe want to do something about the Donald Trump situation. The seeds for a strong European leader to arise promising peace are being sown.
Europe will one day support a dictatorial strongman. The Bible calls him the Beast of the Sea (Revelation 13:1-10; to prove this leader must be European, please watch the video: Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?) and the King of the North (Daniel 11:40).
Europe is concluding that the USA does not want to support its political and economic agenda.
Europe will one day conclude that it not only does not need America for its defense and that it wants the USA gone (Isaiah 10:4-12)–and one day it will make that happen (Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses).
Donald Trump’s rhetoric is getting Europe to conclude it has no other choice but to pursue policies that differ from the USA.
This will not end well for the USA (Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses), nor ultimately Europe (cf. Daniel 11:44-45).
So, yes the Europeans feel betrayed and want to go a way that is separate from that of the USA (they were upset about Donald Trump pulling the USA out of the Paris climate accords; watch The USA Declared a ‘Rogue Nation’!).
While Israel, Saudi Arabia, and some others in the Middle East approve of Donald Trump’s decision, it may well lead to a more militaristic Iran.
An Iran that can fulfill prophecies such as those in the Valley of Vision, which Israel will not like:
6 Elam bore the quiver With chariots of men and horsemen, And Kir uncovered the shield. 7 It shall come to pass that your choicest valleys Shall be full of chariots,And the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.
8 He removed the protection of Judah. You looked in that day to the armor of the House of the Forest; 9 You also saw the damage to the city of David, That it was great; And you gathered together the waters of the lower pool. (Isaiah 22:6-9)
Elam seems to be a reference to at least some in Iran. Kir seems to have Syrian connections. The Bible tells of a time when Kir will be destroyed (Isaiah 15:1b) and also says that Syria’s capital Damascus will be destroyed (Isaiah 17:1).
