As Jesus stated in Matthew 24:6, “the end is not yet.” Israel is not about to build a temple (see also Why is a Jewish Temple in Jerusalem Not Required?), etc.

This emailer sent me something in October related to this which I also denounced (see Asteroid to hit in the next 90 days and USA split between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama?). The emailer also believes in a non-biblically existent pre-tribulation ‘rapture’ (scriptures about that are in the article Is There A Secret Rapture for the Church? When and Where is the Church Protected?).

This time, however, the emailer is trying to drag the Mormons into this. Let me state here, however, that both Mormon and Roman Catholic prophecy tell of a time of three days of darkness (see also Catholic Prophecies: Do They Mirror, Highlight, or Contradict Biblical Prophecies?). However, a multi-million death asteroid and three days of darkness to fulfill the Mormon and Catholic prophecies is not scheduled for December 22, 2014. I did read the Book of Mormon references the emailer sent, and they also does not specify a date.

Nor do the scriptures the emailer claims. I also had an email exchange with the emailer and said that I would be publicly denouncing this. When I asked what the emailer would do when proven wrong, the emailer denied this could be wrong–but the emailer’s position is.

While the Bible is clear that there will be signs in the heavens and including darkness, but this 2 1/2 years or more after the start of the Great Tribulation (which has not yet began):

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains…29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. (Matthew 24:15-16)

10 Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.

12 Then the fourth angel sounded: And a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night. (Revelation 8:10-12)

So, the Bible clearly teaches that the “end of the world” events will include problems that will come from space (called the heavens above)-like an asteroid. See also Wormwood and Planet Nibiru.

While disasters can hit any time (and we may well see terrorism or ‘natural disasters’ then), idolatry Mary worship, etc. will not stop on December 22, 2014. This is another false understanding of prophecy.

However, many prophetic misunderstandings are less obvious, and deceive more. Even nearly all COGs are deceived.
