Blinken’s visit to Australia is his first trip there after an enhanced trilateral security partnership known as AUKUS — Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States — was announced in September. The agreement includes a deal to build nuclear-propelled submarines for Australia as part of enhanced deterrence against China’s military expansion across the Indo-Pacific region.

Part of the discussions during the fourth Quad foreign ministers’ meetings in Melbourne “will relate to the challenges that China poses,” Daniel Kritenbrink, the assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific affairs, told VOA during a Friday phone briefing.

“The Quad is not a military alliance, but it is not lost on China that you have four democracies, all with a strong maritime presence and advanced military capabilities, concerned by the increasingly aggressive approach China takes with its neighbors,” said Charles Edel, the Australia chair of the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Blinken is also expected to discuss threats presented by a growing partnership between China and Russia that was on display during Sunday’s meeting in Beijing between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping at the beginning of the Winter Olympics. In Beijing, Chinese officials have expressed wariness over the Quad and AUKUS.

China is not at all pleased with the Quad or AUKUS. And while the Quad is not officially a military alliance, the USA, Japan, and Australia are military allies, and India has had sometimes violent border clashes with China.

The UK, Australia, and USA, along with Canada and New Zealand have long been part of what is called the Five Eyes alliance. An espionage and military club that Europe has wanted in, but thus far, has been kept out of. The Europeans have not been pleased about AUKUS.

AUKUS sparking European military

In September 2021, US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced a new military partnership called AUKUS. This announcement upset the French and the European Union, which is not part of it. Could AUKUS be another spark for the Europeans to develop their own joint military? What have European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and former German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel called for? Could having the Europeans increase their military capacity and technology and be dangerous? Is the European King of the North, also called the King of Assyria, prophesied to destroy the USA (Daniel 11:39) and its British-descended allies? What could stop that? Does President Joe Biden consider himself King of Europe, with a kind of eminent (or is it “imminent”) domain over multi-billion-dollar projects like the German-Russian Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline? That’s sure what it sounded like this week at the joint press conference with visiting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Biden’s royal deportment was discussed yesterday on The Critical Hour, as well as the various visits of top European leaders in recent days; Macron to Moscow, as well as Scholz to Washington. …

Biden’s misbegotten gaffe, … asserted imminent – sorry, I mean eminent – domain over Nord Stream 2. Poor Chancellor Scholz was standing right there, no doubt wishing he could hide behind his podium until the next question. He did stay, of course, and in the process proved himself quite accomplished in evasiveness and circumlocution.

By pre-arrangement, Biden picked a Reuters reporter to ask the first question:

Q: Thank you, Mr. President. And thank you, Chancellor Scholz. Mr. President, I have wanted to ask you about this Nord Stream project that you’ve long opposed. You didn’t mention it just now by name, nor did Chancellor Scholz. Did you receive assurances from Chancellor Scholz today that Germany will, in fact, pull the plug on this project if Russia invades Ukraine? And did you discuss what the definition of “invasion” could be?…

PRESIDENT BIDEN: The first question first. If Germany – if Russia invades – that means tanks or troops crossing the – the border of Ukraine again – then there will be – we – there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it.

Q: But how will you – how will you do that exactly, since the project and control of the project is within Germany’s control?

PRESIDENT BIDEN: We will – I promise you, we’ll be able to do it.

USA policies are continuing to offend Europe.

Partially because of statements from Donald Trump, the Europeans developed a military alliance called PESCO (watch PESCO and a Great European Army).

Since then, numerous statements from German and other European leaders show that Europe is intent to have its own powerful military capacity independent of the USA.

The current matters with Nord Stream 2 are pushing the Germans away from the USA.

The reality of a strong Russian military is pushing more in Europe to want to develop more military capacity.

Leaders in Europe want a European army that can function without the USA (e.g. Reuters: EU to aim for rapid deployment force without U.S. help by 2025, document says).

The Bible shows that this will happen. Notice the following prophecy:

16 … the king of the north … 25 … shall stir up his power and his courage … with a great army. (Daniel 11:16, 25)

The expression “great army” points to a powerful one. It should be pointed out that the final King of the North is a European leader (see Who is the King of the North? and watch also Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?).

Furthermore, the Bible also says this European power will have “many ships” (Daniel 11:40).

Have no doubts–Europe is developing its own military. The Bible says it will become the aggressor against the USA in the future per Daniel 11:39 (see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses). Despite alliances with the USA, Australia will also not fare well (see also Australia and New Zealand in Prophecy).
