Australia, US look to joint production of hypersonic missile, US lawmaker says

SYDNEY — Joint production of hypersonic missiles by Australia and the United States could reduce strain on the U.S. defense industrial base and boost deterrence in the Indo-Pacific region, U.S. Republican lawmaker Michael McCaul said in Sydney on Friday.In an interview, the chair of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee said the Australian manufacture of the cutting-edge weapons provided an example of how streamlined licensing of sensitive U.S. defense technology, and license exemptions on 70% of defense exports to Australia from September 1, would help the U.S. compete with China in developing advanced weapons.
Hypersonic missiles, which travel in the upper atmosphere more than five times faster than sound, were tested by China in 2021, prompting a technology race with the United States. Their recent use by Russia in the Ukraine war, sparked concern among members of NATO.
A Chinese hypersonic weapon “could hit Australia in a matter of minutes and Australia cannot stop that right now. So we need to catch up to that,” McCaul said.
“I was at a hypersonic company just yesterday and we want to move towards co-production,” he added.
“It is already starting and that is the exciting thing and it will help relieve the stress that we see on the defense industrial base,” he added.
Australia is testing a Hypersonic Attack Cruise Missile (HACM) with the United States, which it will consider as its first such weapon for fighter jets, the defense and foreign ministers of the two countries said after talks last week.
McCaul said his visit focused on the AUKUS partnership with the United States and Britain to transfer nuclear-powered submarines to Australia, as well as develop other advanced defense technologies.
The AUKUS alliance was an example of a U.S. ally spending more on its own defense, he said, when asked if a reelected Donald Trump would continue to back a growing U.S. defense posture in Australia, and the sale of U.S. nuclear submarines next decade.
AUKUS talks had started under the Republican Trump presidency, he added.
“I think there will be strong support for it,” he said.
Rotations of U.S. nuclear submarines through Australia under AUKUS are a deterrent factor in the region, where the Philippines is under pressure from China in the South China Sea, he said, after visiting the Philippines.
“Chairman Xi, I think, fears this alliance more than anything else because he knows what it means – it means that nuclear submarines will be rotating, but also these innovative technologies that we have,” he added, in a reference to Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Australia would seem pleased to have the ability to produce hypersonic missiles. Australia has long been relying on the USA to protect it from the Peoples Republic of China.
However, that will not work in the long run as after the USA is gone, China will find Australia a fairly easy target.
As regular readers of this page are aware, since 2009 (in my book 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect), I wrote that China may take over Australia, and possibly New Zealand. Since I wrote that, my belief in that outcome has increased.
The Chinese are upset with the AUKUS alliance, which is a military alliance of Australia, the USA, and United Kingdom–the Europeans were also not pleased with it. Related to that, we put out the following video shortly after that alliance was announced:

In September 2021, US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced a new military partnership called AUKUS. This announcement upset the French and the European Union, which is not part of it. Could AUKUS be another spark for the Europeans to develop their own joint military? What have European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and former German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel called for? Could having the Europeans increase their military capacity and technology and be dangerous? Is the European King of the North, also called the King of Assyria, prophesied to destroy the USA (Daniel 11:39) and its British-descended allies? What could stop that? Is national or personal repentance possible? Do the nations need Jesus or military alliances?

The biblical reality is that alliances with the USA and UK will NOT be able to protect Australia against powers like China.
On June 24, 2010, the day it was announced that she became Prime Minister of Australia, I warned that I felt that Julia Gillard would take steps to fulfill prophecies that also could get the Chinese interested in taking over Australia (see Australia Now Has a Female Prime Minister: Prophetic Ramifications?).
And that happened.

The Chinese paper ‘Global Times’ has carried threats in 2011 and 2016 suggesting the China would militarily intervene against Australia. It has declared that Australia is a ‘paper cat,’ that China will get revenge against it, and that Australia would be no more. Is this possible? China is trying to rise up and spread its influence. It is not pleased with interference from the USA or Australia.
The various conflicts between the USA and China have been tending to drain USA military resources away from Europe. This is making the USA weaker in Europe and has helped motivate the Europeans to strive to become more militarily independent from the USA.
That is actually consistent with something that the old Plain Truth magazine published back in 1984:
Drifting Away from Europe
It is a fact of immense importance, though recognized only faintly by most Americans, that culturally, economically — and soon strategically as well — the United States is drifting out of the Atlantic orbit.
For years now there has been a perceptible shift in the United States away from its historic attachment to Europe into a much closer relationship with the nations of the Pacific basin.
“The overwhelming European influence on our culture is on the wane and giving way to the Orient,” Frederick Allen, Morgan Guaranty Trust Co. vice-president, commented in an interview published early in 1983.
Franc Viviano, an editor of Pacific News Service in San’ Francisco, added that “once the word ‘immigration’ was synonymous with the arrival of Europeans, and later with Latin Americans. Today two of every five newcomers to the United States are Asian.
“Consider the fact,” added Mr. Viviano, in echoing Premier Zhao’s remarks, “that in 1982-83, for the first time in history, overall U.S. trade with Pacific nations exceeded that with Atlantic nations, registering a record $121,200,000,000.”
This shift toward the Pacific, in turn, plays a significant role in the rift now developing between the United States and its Western alliance allies in Europe.
“Our future lies in Asia” is the recurring theme in some influential economic and political circles in the United States. This viewpoint is usually coupled with the call for the United States to eventually cut defense ties to Europe, to pull United States troops out of the Continent. … then let the Europeans either defend themselves or make their own security arrangements with the Soviet Union.
The end result will be a Europe cut off from America — but a Europe eventually becoming a “third force” superpower of its own rank. (Hogberg G. The “NEW CHINA” Reaches Out. Plain Truth, April 1984)
The USA has been pivoting towards Asia for some time. And yes, Europe still is intent on being a “third force,” a superpower in its own right.
Once the UK and USA are conquered, which is discussed in Daniel 8:11-12, 11:39, Isaiah 10:5-12, and Hosea 11:5-6, Australia will be basically on its own.
Having some hypersonic missiles will not be enough.
I believe China will end up controlling Australia.
Steps towards this are occurring and YOU can rely on properly interpreted biblical prophecies.
