Austria extended its COVID-19 blamed lockdown into February:

California has had extended lockdowns for some time. When they will be eliminated is unclear.
Speaking of California, California-based Standford University released the results of a peer-reviewed study regarding the uselessness of lockdowns:
COVID Lockdowns May Have No Clear Benefit vs Other Voluntary Measures, International Study Shows

A study evaluating COVID-19 responses around the world found that mandatory lockdown orders early in the pandemic may not provide significantly more benefits to slowing the spread of the disease than other voluntary measures, such as social distancing or travel reduction.
The peer reviewed study was published in the European Journal of Clinical Investigation on January 5, and analyzed coronavirus case growth in 10 countries in early 2020.
The study compared cases in England, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and the U.S. – all countries that implemented mandatory lockdown orders and business closures – to South Korea and Sweden, which instituted less severe, voluntary responses. It aimed to analyze the effect that less restrictive or more restrictive measures had on changing individual behavior and curbing the transmission of the virus.

Recent commentary from the World Health Organization’s (WHO) special envoy on COVID-19 has sparked questions about the legitimacy of lockdowns to stop the spread of coronavirus.
“We in the World Health Organization do not advocate lockdowns as the primary means of control of this virus.” …
“The only time we believe a lockdown in justified is to buy you time to reorganise, regroup, rebalance your resources; protect your health workers who are exhausted,” Dr Nabarro said.

The massive and prolonged lockdowns and many other steps taken by various national, state, and local governments were simply not based on science, but to a major degree on political considerations–as well as some earlier misinformation by the WHO (and others who made scientifically inaccurate assumptions).
Few who call themselves journalists covered this correctly. The political views most held made them not report the truth regarding certain interventions, while also exaggerating the risks, essentially to push a false political narrative.
Many of the political considerations, and lack of “love of the truth,” contributed to poverty, economic devastation, and interference with religion we have seen associated with COVID-19 blamed restrictions.
Should there be another round of lockdowns?
No, not at this stage. Though certain cautions related to places like retirement centers may be warranted.

Dr. Scott Gottlieb appeared on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” Monday morning, as he often does, to comment on the coronavirus-related news of the day. And with many still trying to parse the meaning of this weekend’s latest WHO reversal in its guidance – though, to be sure, Dr. Gottlieb insisted it wasn’t a “flip flop” – the former FDA head, who led Trump’s campaign against teen vaping, claimed that lockdowns were never well-suited to combating the virus.
“We were in a difficult position back in April and May because we didn’t know where the virus was spreading…we ended up implementing a stay at home order nationally when in fact we could have titrated our mitigation much more effectively but we needed to know where the virus was and was not spreading,” Dr. Gottlieb said.
“Now we do have the diagnostics deployed and I believe we’ll be able to fine tune our response as this epidemic starts to affect other regions of the country.”
“Other regions aren’t similarly affected and targeted interventions, or case-based interventions like tracking and tracing, could still work.”
Looking ahead, Dr. Gottlieb said, there’s little reason for lockdowns to be employed in the US, or anywhere in the developing world.
“I think the idea that we’re going to do national stay at home orders – or even broad stay at home orders in select cities – it’s just not going to happen, the popular will isn’t there for it, the political leadership on a bipartisan basis aren’t going to support it. So those who are saying no more lockdowns here in the United States I think it’s sort of a straw man argument because it’s just not going to happen.”
When historians look back on 2020, the critical failure is that “we were so blind to the spread back in April and May,” Dr. Gottlieb said.
But at this point, testing is widely available across the US. So why are hundreds of thousands of businesses and schools still closed?
And why are big tech companies like Google still censoring the Great Barrington declaration?
Yes, “big tech censorship” contributed to the problem.
In real science, various ideas tend to get discussed and not the initial consensus of governmental scientists accepted as final.
But in California, Austria, and many other places, more lockdowns have been implemented and/or extended.
If all the government rules and big tech involvement was actually about improving health, they would not have interfered with publishing research and commentary from scientists (and yes, even the department that Dr. Anthony Fauci is in charge of twice concluded that my nutritional/herbal/glandular research on preventing the replication of the retro-coronavirus known as HIV had “significant scientific merit”) who do not agree with governments or Big Tech.
We have been experiencing a trial-run of what is coming.
Misreporting, use of fear, totalitarianism, and censorship will be factors in the rise of the totalitarian leader that the Bible calls the Beast.

Totalitarian directives related to COVID-19 are showing politicians that they can, given fear tactics and police support, put in a lot of totalitarian measures.
While it is nice that part of the WHO is admitting that lockdowns are not the answer (and Stanford confirmed it), the Bible shows that ultimately, the totalitarian situation in Europe will worsen. Europe will reorganize and turn over dictatorial control to a leader called the Beast in Revelation 17:12-13.
Notice what the Bible shows that Beast leader’s tyranny will do:
5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. 6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

If the nation that has long prided itself as “the land of the free” can stop religious services, arrest people for not wearing masks, and take away other rights during ‘peace time,’ what do you think a European leader without supposed constitutional restraints will do?
We are getting closer to that time.

Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?
