China’s Belt and Road Initiative (also know as the new Silk Road Project) is moving ahead. But at least one source thinks this, and other steps at Eurasian integration, pose a major threat to the USA:

The Raging Twenties started with a bang with the targeted assassination of Iran’s General Qasem Soleimani.
Yet a bigger bang awaits us throughout the decade: the myriad declinations of the New Great Game in Eurasia, which pits the US against Russia, China and Iran, the three major nodes of Eurasia integration.
Every game-changing act in geopolitics and geoeconomics in the coming decade will have to be analyzed in connection to this epic clash.
The Deep State and crucial sectors of the US ruling class are absolutely terrified that China is already outpacing the “indispensable nation” economically and that Russia has outpaced it militarily. The Pentagon officially designates the three Eurasian nodes as “threats.” …
The horizon for the multiple projects of the Belt and Road Initiative – as in the China-driven New Silk Roads – is indeed the 2040s, when Beijing expects to have fully woven a new, multipolar paradigm of sovereign nations/partners across Eurasia and beyond, all connected by an interlocking maze of belts and roads.
The Russian project – Greater Eurasia – somewhat mirrors Belt & Road and will be integrated with it. Belt & Road, the Eurasia Economic Union, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank are all converging towards the same vision. …
What’s on the horizon is, in fact, a sub-sect of Belt & Road in Southwest Asia. Iran is a key node of Belt & Road; China will be heavily involved in the rebuilding of Syria; and Beijing-Baghdad signed multiple deals and set up an Iraqi-Chinese Reconstruction Fund (income from 300,000 barrels of oil a day in exchange for Chinese credit for Chinese companies rebuilding Iraqi infrastructure).
A quick look at the map reveals the “secret” of the US refusing to pack up and leave Iraq, as demanded by the Iraqi Parliament and Prime Minister: to prevent the emergence of this corridor by any means necessary. Especially when we see that all the roads that China is building across Central Asia – I navigated many of them in November and December – ultimately link China with Iran.
The final objective: to unite Shanghai to the Eastern Mediterranean – overland, across the Heartland. …
Battle of the Ages
A new book, The Impact of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, by Jeremy Garlick of the University of Economics in Prague, carries the merit of admitting that, “making sense” of Belt & Road “is extremely difficult.”
This is an extremely serious attempt to theorize Belt & Road’s immense complexity – especially considering China’s flexible, syncretic approach to policymaking, quite bewildering for Westerners. To reach his goal, Garlick gets into Tang Shiping’s social evolution paradigm, delves into neo-Gramscian hegemony, and dissects the concept of “offensive mercantilism” – all that as part of an effort in “complex eclecticism.” …

As far as the last point goes, yes, there will be a collapse of the US dollar. And it will end up collapsing so much, it will be worth no more than the scrap value of its cotton paper (though some might want to collect samples)–the US dollar will ultimately lose ALL of its purchasing power.
Now, because the Obama and Trump Administrations have seen Russia and China as major threats, this has caused them to focus more military resources towards Eurasia and less towards Europe.
The biblical reality is that Europe, not Russia combined with Asia, will be the power that will defeat the USA in battle.
Notice the following prophecy:
39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain (Daniel 11:39, NKJV).
The “he” is the coming European King of the North. In the 21st century, the strongest fortresses in the world belong to the USA and to a much lessor extent, its English-speaking allies (for a more detailed explanation of why the USA and its Anglo-allies are involved, as well as the dividing of their lands, please see Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel).
Daniel 11:39 is a prophecy of the military defeat of the USA in the 21st century by a European-based entity (see the article USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses and/or watch the video titled: Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?).
But will there be Russian and Asian involvement?
Yes, I believe so.
Particularly since Daniel 11:39 talks about the defeated lands being divided for gain.
I suspect this means that Russia will end up with at least parts of Alaska and Canada. And that China and/or Japan will end up with at least parts of Australia and New Zealand.
Although the USA has concerns about the Belt and Road Initiative, China and Europe wish to increase connectivity and trade between Europe and Asia.
Back on September, 19, 2018, the EU announced it adopted the following:

Fiscal and financial sustainability of infrastructure projects need to be ensured to avoid the risk of debt distress.This is why the Commission proposes the building blocks towards an EU Strategy on Connecting Europe and Asiawith concrete policy proposals and initiatives to improve connections between Europe and Asia, including through interoperable transport, energy and digital networks. …
EU’s connectivity policies aim at promoting efficiency in the EU single market and enhancing connectivity on a global scale, with emphasis on people’s benefits and rights. These objectives are supported by policies on: sustainable development, decarbonisation, digitalisation, investment, innovation and global leadership.The EU experience enables it to promote an approach to connectivity, which is sustainable, comprehensive and rules-based:

This Joint Communication provides the basis for an EU strategy on connecting Europe and Asia. Theprinciples of sustainable, comprehensive and international rules-based connectivity inform this strategy.Through this approach, the EU will enhance regulatory quality and level playing field of connectivity, drawing inspiration from its internal market. It will contribute to the development of transport, energy and digital networks, on the basis of its experience with cross-border connectivity. So, the EU has a strategy to become a more global player, believes its success should be a model for the global community, and that it should set standards for the world in trade and connectivity.
Italy and China have now taken real steps to make connections.
So has Greece and China:

What about the proposed Polar Silk Road? Will the benefits to Europe last or will the end time ‘daughter of Babylon’ possibly face invasion from nations involved with the Silk Road project? While it is true that the Silk Road project increases China’s economic and political influence, the reality is that most roads go both ways. And that certainly will be the case for those involved in this project.
Since the Bible teaches that it will be Europe that will dominate world trade, Italy’s expected involvement in the BRI looks to be a way that Europe will get access to markets in Asia and Africa.
For example, the Bible teaches the following about an end time European power:
2 … Babylon … 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury. (Revelation 18:2,3)
The above is referring to the fact that nations of the world are prophesied to get wealthy trading with end time Babylon, which will be a European entity.
Back in 1971, the old Worldwide Church of God (WCG) published the following:
Momentous, historic events are transforming Western Europe. But most Americans are “asleep at the switch” to what is happening. It’s time for a self-centered America to wake up – before her allies become her enemies. Envision the startling future of Western Europe. A … union of perhaps 250 million people, surpassing both the United States and the Soviet Union in economic strength, possessing for the first time worldwide political power and influence. One news source recently called it an “enormous, physically powerful beast.” A new Western Europe controlling perhaps half of all world trade, by exclusive arrangements with dozens of nations who produce raw materials. A “United States of Europe” possessing one single currency – a currency so strong that it will replace the U. S. dollar as the kingpin currency of world trade.(Hogberg G. EUROPE’S COMMON MARKET RISING WORLD COLOSSUS. Plain Truth, 1971)
Now, Europe does have its own currency–a currency that some see as the logical replacement for the US dollar for world trade–especially because of US sanctions, etc. (see also SWIFT end of the USA by 2025 as EU, Russia, China, and Iran take steps?). Now, let me add that less than a decade after the above was published, the WCG publicly announced that Eastern Europe would also be part of this European power. And within a decade of that, Eastern European nations began to officially join in with what has become the European Union. And, in population (over 510 million), the European Union is actually larger than that of the USA and Russia combined (though once the UK is out, it will be a bit smaller than them–yet other nations want to become part of the EU).
As far as the USA being asleep at the switch” goes, most Americans do not even know that there is the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative or that many nations are working to dethrone USA dollar dominance.
The prophecies in Revelation 18 about the trading Babylonian power will come to pass.

While the BRI/Silk Road project will aid in the rise of the end time Babylonian power and increase the wealth of merchants, the Bible shows that this will not last:
11 “And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: 12 merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; 13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. 14 The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all. 15 The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, 16 and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! 17 For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance 18 and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like this great city?’
19 “They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.’ (Revelation 18:11-19)
A massive trading system, also involving human trafficking is discussed in the Hebrew scriptures as well:
12 “Tarshish was your merchant because of your many luxury goods. They gave you silver, iron, tin, and lead for your goods. 13 Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were your traders. They bartered human lives and vessels of bronze for your merchandise. 14 Those from the house of Togarmah traded for your wares with horses, steeds, and mules. 15 The men of Dedan were your traders; many isles were the market of your hand. They brought you ivory tusks and ebony as payment. 16 Syria was your merchant because of the abundance of goods you made. They gave you for your wares emeralds, purple, embroidery, fine linen, corals, and rubies. (Ezekiel 27:12-16)
Human trafficking is again going to become ‘legal’ (or at least tolerated). Many will be shocked to learn that the USA and its Anglo-Saxon allies are to be among those that will be bought and sold (see the article Will the Anglo-Saxon Nations be Divided and Have People Taken as Slaves? and/or watch the video Will the USA and other Anglo-nations be Divided and Their People Made Slaves?).
Certain Eursasian integration will not be stopped. We are getting closer to the final “times of the Gentiles.”
Europe is getting more of the connectivity that it wants.
China’s Silk Road project will also make it easier for troops to amass at Armageddon (watch Is China paving roads to Armageddon?).
Yet relatively few in the USA are even aware of the BRI project or Europe’s interest in connectivity.
Recall that Jesus said, “And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!” (Mark 13:37).
Steps towards Eurasian integration are among those to watch.

NBC reports that China intends to spend one trillion dollars to build roads, bridges, railroads, and maritime facilities to reach from China to Europe and China to the Middle East.
