Moderate Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), who has quickly become a key vote in Congress, previously told The Hill that he thought repealing Trump’s tax cuts would be “ridiculous.”

Many in the political leadership in the USA do not believe that individuals or corporations should be allowed to keep what they earn and want to take more of it. Lest this sound only like a complaint against Democratic party totalitarianism, understand that Republicans have not eliminated the onerous income tax system in the USA which is against freedom and in many ways is totalitarian against many individuals and especially against those that own businesses. That is particularly true when one realizes that it is not just the income tax system, but the payroll taxes, sales taxes, other taxes, and other reports companies are burdened with.
That being said, we are seeing more totalitarian steps against the general public, particularly with those blamed on COVID-19.

Citing government seizure of power and censorship during the coronavirus pandemic, well-known liberal figures Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Naomi Wolf warned in a recent video-podcast discussion that America is on “a path to totalitarianism.”
Wolf, a renowned feminist thinker who once was an adviser to Bill Clinton, has been warning of late that the nation has reached “step 10” of her “Fascism in 10 Easy Steps,” from her 2008 book “The End of America: Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot.”
In their discussion on Kennedy’s “Truth” podcast, the son of the late liberal icon said he sees himself and Wolf as “kindred spirits” who are perplexed about why fellow liberals can’t see what is happening now in America.
He noted that liberal scholars grew up reading the great dystopian writers of the 20th century, including Orwell and Huxley, who “predicted exactly what we are going through now.”
It just felt like we were all on the same page, and it is very, very strange to me, almost inexplicable, how all these people who have been friends of mine for life, and people I have admired, and people whose writings I read, have acquiesced to something that clearly is a path to totalitarianism,” he told Wolf in the podcast … https://www.wnd.com/2021/03/4899605/
Perhaps it should be pointed out that because of his objections related to forcing vaccines, it is not clear that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is any longer considered an icon by liberals.
Sadly, the idea that the United States is getting more like the society that George Orwell warned about in his book 1984 is true.
As far as more totalitarian controls, we are seeing reports about restrictions on buying and selling being proposed in different places around the world unless one receives one or more COVID-19 vaccines.

For those professing a preference for one type of government over another, an ugly reality is they all cut from the same cloth. Whether we are talking about Democracy, Communism, Socialism, or Fascism the strong link they share is one of dominance and a desire to control. While seen as vastly different systems with distinct goals, each is rooted in the promise people should sacrifice as needed for “the greater good.” The main flaw in a democracy is that it allows a simple majority to force their desires upon others. This is why our forefathers set checks and balances in the Constitution, however, even these do not guarantee freedom will remain. …
Sadly, governments across the world have overreached and crushed the rights of individuals during the pandemic. People have been denied the ability to travel, locked in their homes, followed by drones, and even been jailed. This may have been just a taste of what we might expect if governments are put under pressure to perform. Many people have pointed to the fact that in the past “war has been the go-to answer” often used to take our eyes off of problems. Hopefully, that will not be the case, however, many of the other options possible in the age of almost total surveillance do not seem much better.
It is wise to remember that when all is said and done, those in power will not be kind to us but they will rapidly throw us under the bus without a thought. Silencing dissidents or those that protest or disagree by limiting free speech is only a start. Lock-downs and curfews take on a whole new meaning when harshly enforced. They can include things like house arrest, cutting power, links to the internet and communication, and even water to areas where unrest gets out of hand. You can expect governments to remove anything that gives us the power to control our fate. …
Totalitarianism, the most extreme and complete form of authoritarianism is a political concept that defines a mode of government, which prohibits opposition parties, restricts individual opposition to the state and its claims, and exercises an extremely high degree of control over public and private life. Political power in totalitarian states is generally pushed by those on the far left or right with strong agendas and an all-encompassing propaganda campaign, which is disseminated through mass media. The Bible warns that a totalitarian government will arise in Europe (Revelation 13) which will destroy the USA (Daniel 11:39), its British-descended allies (Daniel 8:24-25; cf. Isaiah 17:3a), and much of the Arab world (Daniel 11:40-43).
The solution to what is happening is NOT more democracy, Joe Biden, or Donald Trump.
The COVID restrictions are simply a foretaste of what is ahead for the modern world.
We need to pray for God’s Kingdom to come (Matthew 6:10) and proclaim the good news of the return of Jesus and the coming Kingdom of God.
That is the real solution to the totalitarian abuses being put into place.
