BIN: Deadly Earthquake in Turkey Turns Rivers Blood Red; COGwriter: Might we again see the 10 plagues of Egypt?

Notice a statement from God related to what He was going to do in Egypt:

“I will strike the waters which are in the river with the rod that is in my hand, and they shall be turned to blood” (Exodus 7:17)

Breaking Israel News (BIN) cited the above and reported the following:

A recent earthquake in Turkey produced an unexpected replay of the first plague in Egypt as a river began flowing deep red.

Ten days ago, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake rocked eastern Turkey, killing 41 people and injured at least 1,600. The earthquake that was centered near Sivrice, Turkey also caused a series of aftershocks ranging from 3.3-5.4 in magnitude. Images of red water flowing into the river appeared on the internet soon after the earth stopped shaking. …

According to Jewish tradition, the ten-plagues will reappear before the Messiah as stated by the Prophet Micah.

I will show him wondrous deeds As in the days when You sallied forth from the land of Egypt. Micah 7:15

When the images of the blood-red water appeared on Reddit, many comments suggested that the vivid color could be the result of a dye that was introduced into the water supply to help detect leaks. Others noted that dye used for this purpose is usually bright green or yellow. Others suggested the water turned red from clay beneath the surface being mixed with the water source. Irrespective of the cause of the blood red river in Turkey (in some areas red algae can look like this as well), the basic question to consider has to do with whether or not most or all of the ten plagues of Egypt will occur again.

Well, when it comes to the having rivers turning to blood, the answer is yes.

Breaking Israel News is a Jewish news source. While it relies on its ‘traditional’ understanding of Micah 7:15, which looks to be consistent with that scripture, we in the Continuing Church of God also look to the New Testament.

Here is something from the Book of Revelation:

4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying:

“You are righteous, O Lord,
The One who is and who was and who is to be,
Because You have judged these things.
6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets,
And You have given them blood to drink.
For it is their just due.”

7 And I heard another from the altar saying, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.” (Revelation 16:4-7)

While the situation with the Turkish river is not the fulfillment of Revelation 16, we see in it basically two things.

The first is that rivers and springs of water will turn into blood. In Exodus 7:21, the Bible states, “So there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.” Yet, the fulfillment of Revelation 16:4 will not be limited to Egypt.

The second is that we see the reason WHY God intends to have this done. The Isaelites were oppressed by their taskmasters (Exodus 3:7) who beat them (i.e. Exodus 5:14). In the future, the Beast power and his supporters will persecute and kill end time Christians (Revelation chapters 13,17; see also Persecutions by Church and State).

But we are not to that time quite yet. However, we do seem to be in the “beginning of sorrows” that Jesus foretold (Matthew 24:4-8), which are just prior to the start of the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21).

Zombie Deer Disease is Here! Are the 10 Plagues on Egypt Coming?

According to certain Jewish traditions, the ten plagues on Egypt are to be repeated before the Messiah comes. Some have wondered if ”Zombie Deer Disease,’ officially knows as ‘Chronic Wasting Disease’ (which is spreading according to the US CDC) is confirmation of that Jewish view.
