The Brett Kavanaugh hearings for the US Supreme Court are in the news:

U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh goes before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday as it begins confirmation hearings that President Donald Trump hopes will lead to a solid conservative majority on the nation’s highest court.

The proceedings begin with opening statements from Kavanaugh and committee members.

On Wednesday, Kavanaugh is scheduled to face direct questioning on a range of issues, including his stance on abortion, gay rights and presidential power.

The White House is hoping the full Senate will confirm the 53-year-old Kavanaugh to the nine-member court in September, in time for him to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy when the court opens a new term October 1.

However, Democrats have vowed to fight Kavanaugh’s nomination from the start, fearing his lifetime appointment could ensure a strongly conservative court for a generation.

Democrats will likely try to portray Kavanaugh as someone too tied to President Trump and who will push a conservative agenda on the high court. WASHINGTON, Sept 4 (Reuters) – U.S. Senate Democrats plan to hammer President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on his views on abortion and presidential power in hearings starting on Tuesday but the conservative judge looks likely to be confirmed. … “There will be sparks at this hearing. What can be expected?

Duplicity and hypocrisy.

Most, if not all, of the Democrats that ask Brett Kavanaugh questions are not interested in his technical qualifications. Nor will they vote for his confirmation almost no matter how he answers their questions. The process is blatant hypocrisy.

Brett Kavanaugh, on the other hand, will try to be careful what he says. He does not want to give opponents more “ammunition” such as to make his possible confirmation fail. Unless there is some ‘surprise’ Republicans are expected to vote to confirm him–and not based on what he is expected to say in the hearings.

Both Republicans and Democrats will be involved in duplicity.

The mainstream media will be “out for blood” (to use an American expression)–hoping to find some statements to emphasize with the hope of stopping Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation.

Bible prophecy warns about the destruction of “an hypocritical nation”:

5 O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation. 6 I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down* like the mire of the streets. 7 Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few. 8 For he saith, Are not my princes altogether kings? 9 Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus? So, although the European power does not think it wants to, it will end up destroying “an hypocritical nation.”

Expect to see hypocrisy related to the Brett Kavanaugh hearings.

If Brett Kavanaugh does get confirmed, consider the following:

The same day Trump nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh to be the next high-court justice, the deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee was asked an interesting question: “Is there any possibility that the legislative branch would remove a Supreme Court justice?”

U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., who also serves as the DNC’s second-in-charge, paused for a moment, then responded, “You’d have to find some evidence of like, corruption, or something like that.”

Some comments about Ellison’s remarks posted on YouTube include:

“Translation: ‘When we regain power, we will arrest you, then look, and search, and deep-dive into everything imaginable until we find something of which you’re guilty!’”

“Not a good idea for a Supreme Court justice … but OK for a president.”

“So couldn’t we theoretically impeach all the radical Obama judges under their new rules of governing? Leftists aren’t going to like the new rules.”

“These people are begging for a civil war.”

So, we see talk of civil war related to a Supreme Court nominee.

While Donald Trump selected Catholic Brett Kavanaugh, most of the mainstream media and many political operatives would have had similar problems with anyone that Donald Trump was likely to have nominated instead.

But because of the horrible attachment that many have to abortion, there would seem to be even more hate from the abortion-pushers (which includes much of the media) against Brett Kavanaugh.

It would be nice if the Supreme Court of the USA considered that unborn babies are humans and should have the right to life. Note something from the US Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

One would think that US Supreme Court justices would agree with the nation’s Declaration of Independence. Murdered babies lose life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The federal government should not encourage that.

But the abortionists do not care about such matters.

Now it should be added, that even IF Roe vs. Wade was overturned, this would not be expected to outlaw abortion in the total USA–this would mainly be expected to allow this to be determined on a state-by-state basis (though abortion should not be allowed anywhere or at all).

The Apostle Paul warned:

1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! … 13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. (2 Timothy 3:1-5, 13)

It is not good to promote abortion.

Those who promote abortion do not wish to believe the truth.

Jesus said to those who would actually follow Him:

32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32)

Increasingly, there is a cultural divide between those who profess some type of morality based upon scripture and those that have decided that political issues matter more than moral ones. Many are outraged about matters such as homosexual marriage and abortion, while others are outraged that everyone will not support homosexual marriage and abortion.

Increasingly, the political parties are becoming more polarized. While politicians were always partisan, there is less they seem willing to do for the ‘good of the country’ together.

Both ‘sides’ have gotten more brutal,

Now, is civil unrest and/or civil war going to hit the USA?

Yes.

Former US President Abraham Lincoln cited one of these scriptures in a famous speech he gave prior to becoming USA president. The situation worsened and the American civil war began not too long afterwards.

It used to be that Supreme Court nominees were routinely confirmed on a bipartisan basis unless corruption, incompetence, or cronyism was apparent.

Yet those are not the issues that people tend to raise about Brett Kavanaugh.

The confirmation situation has changed as the Supreme Court essentially has become highly political.

Many in the USA want abortion expanded and not subject to more restrictions.

Various ones in the media have been fanning the flames of strife and division, and are expected to fan them more.

The USA is not exempt from falling, and ” a house divided against a house falls” (Luke 11:17)–ultimately, the USA will fall (cf. Daniel 11:39).
