Brexit is still complicated, with one UK Parliament vote approving Boris Johnson’s deal, but not the timetable:

The European Union is expected to delay Britain’s departure from the bloc after Prime Minister Boris Johnson lost a key vote in Parliament on Tuesday and halted ratification of his Brexit agreement.

Britain was supposed to leave the EU on Oct. 31 and it’s not clear how long EU leaders will extend the deadline, although they have been considering a three-month delay.

Mr. Johnson has been adamant that Britain will leave the EU on Oct. 31 and he wanted the legislation finalized in just three days in order to meet the deadline. But MPs refused and voted 322 to 308 to reject that timetable, arguing that they needed more time to scrutinize the 115-page bill.

After the vote, the Prime Minister said he would stop ratification and leave it to EU leaders to decide if the deadline should be extended. “We now face further uncertainty. The EU must make up their minds over how to answer Parliament’s request,” he told MPs. Mr. Johnson had already been forced by Parliament to seek a three-month extension to the deadline last Saturday, but he has insisted that he was compelled to make that request and that he didn’t really want a delay.

EU leaders had held off on a decision in the hope that Mr. Johnson could get the deal through Parliament before the end of the month as he promised. That now seems unlikely. After Tuesday’s vote, Donald Tusk, the head of the EU Council, which represents the leaders, said he would recommend that they accept Britain’s request for an extension. He did not specify how long the delay might be.

The Prime Minister’s move to hold off on ratification came moments after he’d won a rare victory in the House of Commons. Members of Parliament voted 329 to 299 to approve the Brexit bill in principle, the first stage in the legislative process. Boris Johnson has met Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn amid uncertainty over what happens next with Brexit.

The meeting comes after MPs rejected the PM’s plan to fast-track Brexit legislation through Parliament.

The BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg says she understands nothing was agreed.

Labour was keen to discuss a different timetable for the Brexit bill, while the PM wanted to know what Mr Corbyn would do if the EU refused to extend the 31 October deadline, she added.

A Labour Party spokesperson said: “Jeremy Corbyn reiterated Labour’s offer to the prime minister to agree a reasonable timetable to debate, scrutinise and amend the Withdrawal Agreement Bill, and restated that Labour will support a general election when the threat of a no-deal crash-out is off the table.”

LONDON — British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was weighing Wednesday whether to push for an early election or try again to pass his stalled European Union divorce deal, after Parliament blocked a fast-track plan to approve his Brexit bill before the U.K.’s scheduled departure from the bloc on Oct. 31.

Boris Johnson has to be credited for getting the EU to accept changes to the plan pushed by former UK Prime Minister Theresa May. He also basically got the UK out of a situation that legally would have been much harder to negotiate in the future.

Boris Johnson wants Brexit on October 31st for several reasons. Perhaps the biggest two are 1) because he promised to do so and 2) so he can legally enter in trade agreements on behalf of the UK, which he cannot legally do while the UK is part of the EU.

In my January 2017 book, Donald Trump and America’s Apocalypse, I wrote the following:

2016 was the turning point for Europe. The vote by the United Kingdom to leave the European Union on June 23, 2016 (called the Brexit), shocked Europe as did the election of Donald Trump on November 8, 2016…

Donald Trump’s rise has also spurred the Europeans to further unify among themselves, especially when combined with the Brexit vote that Donald Trump encouraged. While the Bible shows the Europeans will have difficulties being together (Daniel 2:41-43), it also shows that they will reorganize and unite (Revelation 17:12-13). Donald Trump has been pointed to by various European leaders as ‘proof’ that Europe needs more unification and distance from the USA. (Thiel B. Donald Trump and America’s Apocalypse. In March of 2017, I posted the following:

We are certainly seeing that.

Furthermore, with what has been going on in the UK, the EU, and the USA since the Brexit vote, more in the UK are concluding that the EU wants to be an empire. The EU has taken several stances that the UK does not like, including stances that the EU used to pretend it did not really have. Glimpses of the true colors of the European project (e.g. Daniel 2:41-43; Isaiah 10:5-8) have re-assured some in the UK that leaving the EU is in its best interest.

Consider that the Bible itself teaches that Europe will reorganize and unite (Revelation 17:12-13; see also Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?), as well as become the dominant world trading power for a time (Revelation 17 & 18). The Bible also teaches of a time of Jacob’s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7)–and this will include the UK (as well as the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand).

The Bible is accurate and its prophecies can be counted on.

Most people do NOT realize what will happen in Europe.

Europe is not going to ‘get over’ the Brexit or Donald Trump and will one day take actions that most of those in the UK (as well as USA and Canada) will not consider possible (cf. Daniel 8:24-25, 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses).
