‘Buttigieg: God will punish us for global warming’
Pete Buttigieg (via marcn)
World Net Daily reported the following:
Buttigieg: God will punish us for global warming
September 7, 2019
The South Bend, Indiana, mayor, who calls himself a gay Christian, often invokes God, Jesus and the Bible in his political arguments.
He did it again Thursday on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
“To me, environmental stewardship isn’t just about taking care of the planet, it’s taking care of our neighbor … we’re supposed to love our neighbor as ourselves,” he said.
“And the biggest problem with climate change isn’t just going that it’s going to hurt the planet, I mean, in some way, shape, or form, the planet’s still gonna be here,” Buttigieg continued.
“It’s that we are hurting people. … People who are alive right now, and people who will be born in the future. The way I see it, I don’t imagine God’s going to let us off the hook for abusing future generations, anymore than you would be off the hook for harming someone right next to you. With climate change, we’re doing both.” 09/07/19 https://www.wnd.com/2019/09/buttigieg-god-will-punish-us-global-warming/
Pete Buttigieg is a homosexual that claims to be a Christian.
Now, it is true that the Bible teaches:
18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth. (Revelation 11:18)
But it is because of various sins that will happen.
The claim that ‘climate change’ is the big sin God will punish for reminds me of something that then California Governor Jerry Brown once proclaimed about wildfires:
December 9, 2017
California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) says President Trump‘s stance on climate change demonstrates that he does not appear to fear the “wrath of God” or have any regard for the “existential consequences” of his environmental policies.
“I don’t think President Trump has a fear of the Lord, the fear of the wrath of God, which leads one to more humility … this is such a reckless disregard for the truth and for the existential consequences that can be unleashed,” Brown said in an interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes,” which is set to air on Sunday.
Brown, who studied to become a Jesuit priest prior to entering politics, has been a vocal critic of the Trump administration. http://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/364084-california-gov-trump-doesnt-fear-god-or-existential-consequences
The Bible shows that God uses weather to get people’s attention. Sometimes to punish, sometimes to lead to repentance, and other times to consider that God, not humankind, is in control.
Since Jerry Brown was a Roman Catholic, let us notice a passage of scriptures from a Catholic-version of the Bible that actually uses the term “wrath of God”
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and injustice of those men that detain the truth of God in injustice: 19 Because that which is known of God is manifest in them. For God hath manifested it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him, from the creation of the world, are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made; his eternal power also, and divinity: so that they are inexcusable. 21 Because that, when they knew God, they have not glorified him as God, or given thanks; but became vain in their thoughts, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22For professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. 23 And they changed the glory of the incorruptible God into the likeness of the image of a corruptible man, and of birds, and of fourfooted beasts, and of creeping things.
24 Wherefore God gave them up to the desires of their heart, unto uncleanness, to dishonour their own bodies among themselves. 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie; and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the natural use into that use which is against nature. 27 And, in like manner, the men also, leaving the natural use of the women, have burned in their lusts one towards another, men with men working that which is filthy, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was due to their error.
28And as they liked not to have God in their knowledge, God delivered them up to a reprobate sense, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all iniquity, malice, fornication, avarice, wickedness, full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malignity, whisperers, 30Detractors, hateful to God, contumelious, proud, haughty, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Foolish, dissolute, without affection, without fidelity, without mercy. 32 Who, having known the justice of God, did not understand that they who do such things, are worthy of death; and not only they that do them, but they also that consent to them that do them. (Romans 1:18-32, Rheims New Testament)
So, “the wrath of God” is at least partially directed towards those that practice or condone sexual immorality like homosexuality and lesbianism. This is something that Pete Buttigieg and Jerry Brown do not wish to publicly acknowledge.
Related to some of Jerry Brown’s comments, the Continuing Church of God put together the following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:
Fires have hit many places; Significant wildfires have hit California. Shortly after the start of the Thomas Fire, California Governor Jerry Brown warned that the US President did not have “the fear of the wrath of God.” Does God use fire to encourage people to change? What are some of the scriptures associated with fire in the Bible? What is sin? What are some of the scriptures associated with the wrath of God in the New Testament? Is Governor Brown being hypocritical here? What happened to Sodom and Gomorrah? Is this relevant now? What did Jesus teach about the time of Sodom and the coming time of troubles? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.
Here is a link to our video: Fires and the Wrath of God.
Getting back to Pete Buttigieg, notice:
“I can tell you, that if me being gay was a choice, it was a choice that was made far, far above my pay grade,” he said.”And that’s the thing I wish the Mike Pences of the world could understand, that if you have a problem with who I am, your problem is not with me. Your quarrel, sir, is with my creator.” 04/09/19 https://www.cbsnews.com/news/pete-buttigieg-bringing-religion-into-the-2020-democratic-race/
Thus, he claimed God made him homosexual and essentially he had no choice. But that is not true. There is NO gay gene.
To highlight some scientific proof, the Continuing Church of God (CCOG) is put together the following video on its Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel and its BitChute Prophecy channel:
A study came out in August of 2019 showing that so many Americans are so fearful from news reports that more have become doomsday preppers. Meaning that they are storing up food, weapons, and other supplies for an apocalyptic type event to hit the USA. Jesus said sorrows and troubles would come, then a tribulation so bad that unless God intervened, no flesh would be saved alive. Is physical preparation the answer? Should Christians do any type of disaster preparations? Does God have a plan to protect some or all Christians from the coming “hour of trial” that Jesus spoke of? Who is promised protection and who is not? Is keeping the commandments enough? What has Jesus said His people should do? Are you supporting the work that needs to be completed before the end comes? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.

While much of the media states that Peter Buttigieg is a Christian, the Apostle Paul wrote that people like him are not part of the true Christian faith:
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
Pete Buttigieg would have to repent and renounce homosexuality, etc. in order to be a real Christian.
Now, although some want to act like this was mainly an issue with the Apostle Paul, after his death, early Christian leaders taught the same thing. In the second century Polycarp of Smyrna and Melito of Sardis specificially condemned illicit sexual behaviors including homosexuality:
Knowing, then, that “God is not mocked,” we ought to walk worthy of His commandment and glory …For it is well that they should be cut off from the lusts that are in the world, since “every lust warreth against the spirit; ” and “neither fornicators, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, shall inherit the kingdom of God,” nor those who do things inconsistent and unbecoming (Polycarp. Letter to the Philippians, Chapter V. From Ante-Nicene Fathers, Volume 1as edited by Alexander Roberts & James Donaldson. American Edition, 1885).
53. But in addition to this there were to be found among men many things still more monstrous and terrifying and brutal: father cohabits with his child, and son and with his mother, and brother with sister, and male with male, and each man lusting after the wife of his neighbor. (Melito’s Homily on the Passover)
Being a practicing homosexual is not part of the “faith once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3).
The Bible tells of an early event that occurred in the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah between three thousand and four thousand years ago:
24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. (Genesis 19:24-25)
And why did it happen?
7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 7)
Homosexuality is a form of sexual immorality that involves going after “strange flesh.”
Why mention this in the 21st century?
Because God turned:
6…the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly (2 Peter 2:6)
Thus, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah were to serve as an example to those who would live as they did–and destruction will come again related to the LBGTQ agenda! Yet despite biblical warnings, many modern leaders like Pete Buttigieg, are endorsing so-called homosexual “rights” and “same-sex marriage” and otherwise practicing behaviors God opposes.
The Bible itself warns that if the children of Israel sinned and did not repent, the following would happen:
12 As for My people … Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths. (Isaiah 3:12)
16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed. (Isaiah 9:16)
The Apostle Paul warned:
1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
Many of those statements apply to those who wish to win the 2020 US Presidential election (from whatever political party)–but Peter Buttigieg, as well as Donald Trump, stand out a bit as they often try to emphasize their version of godliness.
Notice something else that Pete Buttigieg said yesterday:
Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg suggested Friday that unborn babies can be aborted up until they draw their first breath, saying parts of the Bible mention “how life begins with breath.” 09/06/19 https://www.wnd.com/2019/09/buttigieg-bible-oks-abortion-1st-breath/
He overlooked various scriptures as the Bible also makes it clear that David and Jeremiah were human and known before to God while they were in the womb prior to being born:
For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them (Psalm 139:13-16).
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying:
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:4-5).
Notice also:
44 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, And He who formed you from the womb:”I am the Lord, who makes all things…'(Isaiah 44:24)
Furthermore, notice that the death penalty could come from an injury to a pregnant woman:
If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman’s husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe (Exodus 21:22-25).
The expression “no harm follows” can be interpreted that both the mother and the baby live, and that the baby and mother are healthy. But, if they are not and somehow permanently harmed, punishment will follow, apparently including the death penalty if either die. God does not condone the killing of unborn infants.
As far as religion goes, Pete Buttigieg is considered to be a practicing Episcopalian. Lest this seem partisan (and I am a non-partisan), I do not consider that US President Donald Trump an actual Christian either.
That being said, Christians should strive to be proper stewards of the environment, but to imply that the mainstream climate change agenda has God’s blessing is in error.

Hurricanes and Prophecy Hurricane Harvey dropped the greatest amount of rainfall in any USA storm. Hurricane Irma was the strongest hurricane ever in the Atlantic.
