Cardinal claims ‘blood miracle’ just took place–any relationship to Isaiah 47?
Artist’s portrayal of the martyrdom of Gennaro
Some believe that Pope Francis performed a what is being called a half- miracle:
Famed blood miracle of San Gennaro unfolds again in Naples
Miracles are almost by definition unpredictable and spontaneous, except in the Italian city of Naples, where every year the city’s patron saint is believed to keep one of three annual appointments on Sept. 19, his feast day, producing a scientifically inexplicable liquefaction of two ampules of his blood.
On Monday the blood miracle occurred once again, according to Naples’s Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, who performed the annual ritual of descending into the crypt of the local cathedral to examine the ampules containing what tradition regards as the blood of Saint Januarius, known in Italy as “San Gennaro,” recalled as a martyr during persecutions of the early church under the Roman Emperor Diocletian.
On past occasions, prelates would sometimes bring the still-dry blood in its ampule up to the church, where it would reportedly liquefy before the eyes of the congregation. In this case, however, Sepe announced Monday morning that the blood had already taken liquid form when he went down to take a look.
The announcement was greeted with applause in the cathedral, where the feast of San Gennaro is considered a major civic event.
According to the cult around San Gennaro, his blood was collected by a woman named Eusebia shortly after his death. Devotion to the annual liquefaction, however, isn’t documented until 1389, and over the next few centuries reports circulated about the blood melting up to three times every year: His feast on Sept. 19; Dec. 16, marking his patronage of Naples; and the day before the first Sunday in May, celebrating the reunification of his relics.
The saint’s blood is also believed to liquefy on other special occasions, such as papal visits.
It reportedly did so for Pope Pius IX in 1848, but not for either St. John Paul II or Benedict XVI. When Francis visited in March 2015, Sepe announced that the blood had “half-liquefied.”
Some researchers believe the blood contained in the ampules contains a specific kind of gel that results in viscosity when the ampules are moved or stirred, meaning that there could be a scientific explanation for the phenomenon.
Devotees, however, are convinced the annual events are miraculous, which is why in addition to Naples San Gennaro is also the patron saint of blood donors.
While Church officials obviously support the celebrations in Naples, officially speaking the Vatican has never taken a position on the legitimacy of the miracle, nor has it ever offered a binding theological interpretation for it. 09/19/16. https://cruxnow.com/global-church/2016/09/19/famed-blood-miracle-san-gennaro-unfolds-naples/
When it ‘half-happened” in March of 2015, Francis hinted that this was a type of supernatural occurrence with Catholic ramifications (see Pope Francis allegedly performs a ‘half miracle’). To me, this would be a false sign otherwise called a lying wonder, presuming a demonic manifestation happened or human trickery was involved (if this was not a trick nor lie, then that is what it would have been–unless there was a truly natural explanation, which there very well might be).
The Bible warns that such signs will be worse and most will fall for them:
9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)
Is this ‘blood liquification’ some type of sign and lying wonder?
It would seem to qualify as such–such ‘miracles’ are part of Satan’s Plan. It is my view that many Roman Catholics ignore biblical and historical arguments against the Church of Rome because they want to believe that God is involved in the various ‘miracles’ that they believe happened related to their church.
Does the Church of Rome realize that some of the so-called ‘miracles’ they allow congregants to believe are hoaxes?
Yes, I do believe so.
This is one reason that the Vatican, while allowing beliefs in them, and even officially endorses the apparitions in Fatima, does not require that its members believe in such things. Hence, the clergy does not have to believe them.
But these things are spiritually dangerous.
Carefully notice that God inspired the prophet Isaiah to write the following:
1 “Come down and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; Sit on the ground without a throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans! For you shall no more be called Tender and delicate. 2 Take the millstones and grind meal. Remove your veil, Take off the skirt, Uncover the thigh, Pass through the rivers. 3 Your nakedness shall be uncovered, Yes, your shame will be seen; I will take vengeance, And I will not arbitrate with a man.”
4 As for our Redeemer, the Lord of hosts is His name, The Holy One of Israel. 5 “Sit in silence, and go into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans; For you shall no longer be called The Lady of Kingdoms. 6 I was angry with My people; I have profaned My inheritance, And given them into your hand. You showed them no mercy; On the elderly you laid your yoke very heavily. 7 And you said, ‘I shall be a lady forever, ‘So that you did not take these things to heart, Nor remember the latter end of them.
8 “Therefore hear this now, you who are given to pleasures, Who dwell securely, Who say in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one else besides me;I shall not sit as a widow, Nor shall I know the loss of children’; 9 But these two things shall come to you In a moment, in one day: The loss of children, and widowhood. They shall come upon you in their fullness Because of the multitude of your sorceries, For the great abundance of your enchantments.
10 “For you have trusted in your wickedness; You have said, ‘No one sees me’; Your wisdom and your knowledge have warped you; And you have said in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one else besides me.’ 11 Therefore evil shall come upon you; You shall not know from where it arises. And trouble shall fall upon you; You will not be able to put it off. And desolation shall come upon you suddenly, Which you shall not know.
12 “Stand now with your enchantments And the multitude of your sorceries, In which you have labored from your youth — Perhaps you will be able to profit, Perhaps you will prevail. 13 You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels; Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, And the monthly prognosticators Stand up and save you From what shall come upon you. 14 Behold, they shall be as stubble, The fire shall burn them; They shall not deliver themselves From the power of the flame; It shall not be a coal to be warmed by, Nor a fire to sit before! 15 Thus shall they be to you With whom you have labored, Your merchants from your youth; They shall wander each one to his quarter. No one shall save you. (Isaiah 47:1-15)
Let’s consider that the Church of Rome often focuses on one it calls the Virgin (Isaiah 47:1; see also Mary, the Mother of Jesus and the Apparitions). One of the biggest shrines to ‘the Virgin’ is in Fatima, Portugal. Here is a photo my wife Joyce took of part of it which is on my book titled Fatima Shock! What the Vatican Does Not Want You to Know About Fatima, Dogmas of Mary, and Future Apparitions:
Why is that relevant here?
For several reasons, including the fact that apparitions have been part of the signs and lying wonders Satan has used. Furthermore, recall that Isaiah prophesied that her thigh would be uncovered and her nakedness would be revealed (Isaiah 47:2-3). Consider the following two pictures:
Fatima Statue and Image of That the Children Saw
People who go to Fatima see the statue on the left above and believe that this is what appeared in Fatima, Portugal in 1917. Yet, the description that the only three people (children) who claimed to see the apparition gave descriptions to the Catholic priests and Catholic investigators that look like what is shown as the picture on the above right. The Church of Rome knows this, but instead let’s people believe that the image to the left is what appeared there. It should also be pointed out that there is NO POSSIBLE WAY THAT JESUS’ MOTHER MARY APPEARED IN PORTUGAL IN 1917 AND WOULD NOT HAVE APPEARED SO UNCOVERED. Even prostitutes did not go out in public looking like how the three children of Fatima described the ‘Lady’ that appeared there. Jesus’ mother Mary would not have dressed so culturally immodest (cf. 1 Timothy 2:9).
Consider the following proof. In 1917, the parish priest, Manuel Marques Ferreira, interviewed the children, and reported their description of the Lady that appeared:
The clothing was a white mantle, which fell from the head to below the skirt, which was golden from the waist to below the [two] strings, which crossed above and below at the hem. The skirt was all white and gold…[and] fell only to the knees; the coat was white…no shoes, but white socks with no gold; about the neck there was a gold chain with a pointed medallion. (Interrotagórios de Artur de Oliveria Santos, Doc. 53, Documentação Critica de Fátima I. Fátima Sanctuary, 1992, p. 375 as cited and translated in Fernandes J, D’Armada F. Celestial Secrets, The Hidden History of the Fátima Incident. Anamolist Books, San Antonio (Texas), 2006, p. 152)
The children were also interviewed by the Catholic priest Canon Manuel Nunes Formigão, whose report stated:
Jacinta confirms that Our Lady’s dress fell only to the knees… Our Lady obviously could not have appeared other than dressed with the utmost decency and modesty…{This} constitutes a serious problem, opposing the very validity of the Apparition, giving rise in the spirit to the dread that this whole affair is a mystification, prepared by the Prince of Darkness. (Fernandes, p. 153; also Santo ME. Os Mouros Fatimidas e as Aparições de Fátima. Assírio & Alvim, 2006, pp. 271-218)
So at least two priests reported that at least two children claimed that what appeared in Fatima had a short skirt. A skirt that was culturally immodest and improper for 1917 Portugal (what the three children saw looked a lot more like the goddess Diana since Mary would not have appeared that way). So, while Fatima is not a normal hoax, it certainly should be considered as a scam as there is no way that Jesus’ mother would have appeared that way (cf. 1 Timothy 2:9).
Getting back to Isaiah 47, verse 5 talks about the “lady of the Kingdoms.’ This is a term that some in the Church of Rome have referred to their improper version of Mary (for details, get Fatima Shock! What the Vatican Does Not Want You to Know About Fatima, Dogmas of Mary, and Future Apparitions). The Vatican also tends to consider itself the lady of the kingdoms as well.
Isaiah 47:6 talks about the heavy yoke laid upon the elderly. I would contend that Roman Catholic practices related to pressuring the elderly to ‘donate’ for ‘indulgences’ related to ‘purgatory’ are such an improper heavy yoke (see also Did the Early Church Teach Purgatory?).
Isaiah 47:7-11 can be tied in with prophecies in in the Book of Revelation:
7 In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’ 8 Therefore her plagues will come in one day — death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her. (Revelation 18:7-8)
Isaiah 47 is thus a prophesy, not just about the ancient Chaldean/Babylonian mystery religions, but a reference to a church with such characteristics that will be destroyed in the end times.
Isaiah 47:8 says in addition to trusting in wickedness, because of ‘great abundance of your enchantments’ this will happen to that church. Blood ‘miracles’ are consistent with enchantments. Many, sadly, have trusted in the ‘great abundance’ of Rome-related enchantments.
More are coming as 1 Thessalonians 2 (previously cited) shows. The Bible also warns that the false prophet, the beast of the earth and THE Antichrist (although there have been antichrists since the time of the Apostle John), will perform signs and be involved with a different type of financial order:
11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. (Revelation 13:11-17)
People are to love the truth of God and not be swayed by enchantments and sorceries. Notice also that this mystic above will persecute those that will not follow his deceit. The Bible says that God will punish those who accept the mark of the Beast (Revelation 16:2).
It should also be noted that Isaiah 47:12-13 warns about sorceries and those who rely on astrological and similar predictions. One of the most famous Roman Catholic prognosticators, the one known as Nostradamus, certainly did so–as have some other Catholic mystics.
Isaiah 47:14 says that fire will destroy that church. The Book of Revelation says that same thing in chapter 18 verse 8. There is a real connection between Isaiah 47 and end time Babylon of Revelation 17 and 19.
The so-called blood ‘miracle’ that occurred in Naples yesterday is just one of the “great abundance” of enchantments that the Church of Rome often promotes.
The Apostle Paul taught that true Christians “walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). He also warned in the end times, most people would be deceived by “signs and lying wonders” (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12) of a magnitude beyond what God permitted in the past (cf. 2 Thessalonians 2:7; see also What is Restrained and Who is Restraining in 2 Thessalonians 2:7?).
Declarations of ‘blood miracles’ are just a small taste of the deceptive signs and ‘miracles’ that are coming–do not fall for them.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). But most will not do that.
